Space Sims/Strategy Games Catch-All

I've not watched a single video of this Elite stuff but as I'm a diehard opponent of Kickstarting (because it flies in the face of everything I was taught to be a good consumer) I will say this: that Elite guy's face is f**king boring to look at. Jeebus.

X3 is Excel in Space and Grubber hates fun.

X3 is good. Evochron is way better. I'm super-duper.

I'm going to spend the next ten hours plotting my revenge before accidentally crashing said plans into a space station.

I love people who hate. I have buckets of hate-hugs to give out. Let's turn that hate into something we appreciate!

Edit: I might actually have to give Evochron another change. What's the newest version?

Hate hugs sounds like a really nice way of saying strangulation, strangleblades.

I hate hug with enthusiasm and kisses.

Excuse me. EVE is spreadsheets in space. My X3 has plenty of pew-pew. If you're not blowing stuff up you're playing it wrong. :p

I'm right there with yah, buddy. Lord know's I have tried too!

So am I still allowed in the thread if I don't like any space sim game save freelancer?

Get out.

That's like only liking Star Trek Voyager, Galactica 1980, and the Star Wars Christmas Special.

Spoiler:

I kid, I kid.

Pft. If that were true, why was I running Excel separately to compare and contrast my ships and weapon systems?

Just when you thought SOTS2 didn't kick you in the face enough, welcome supernovas

Is SOTS2 good now? Like all patched up and ready to par-tay?

That's so very, very sad.

It's working fine for me. It's also kinda fun, once you read the manual since the game has no tutorial to speak of.

Soon even Veloxi's reviews will be conveyed with a series of animated gifs.

Eh? It's just crowd-sourced angel investing. Think of that way and it makes great sense.

I've gotten some excellent results from it already - FTL came out, and I'm playing the Hispaniola: Conquistadore beta and having fun. The massive floor-sized Ogre game is coming along (blast from the past), and Project Eternity is looking good at an early stage. So is Wasteland 2.

But if one of them fails, well, that's investing. I'll risk $20-$50 on a project I like, if it likely won't get done otherwise (or not done well).

My mind is blown. Don't you invest to get your money back and then some? You know, like make a profit? THIS IS NOT MAKING A PROFIT. Just wait until the damn dasgdslkof890ru04w3u09480t84hfhy!!!!!!! *please stand by*

It's like r/reactiongifs/ suddenly wandered in and vomited all over the space sims thread.

Oh, the pixelated humanity!

Hahahahahahahaha

What the hell?

No space/sci-fi gifs?

Also I totally forgot to play Endless Space all weekend.

Nah, your brain saved you from a terrible mistake.

I started playing it and had enough fun that I bought it. Now I just need to figure out what the proper opening is because by the time I encounter other races, they have ridiculously outpaced me technologically.
