Ahh, yes! That was one of the first titles that made my game pile what it is today! Guess I should re-purchase and not play it for ol' times' sake!

Battlezone has been remastered?

This may be the greatest thing that has happened all year. One of my all-time favourite games, and absolutely ahead of its time in my opinion. WANT.

Anyone else playing Halcyon 6?

Yup, loving it.

So Battlefleet Gothic: Armada looks like something I can get behind. I'll be checking it out but are their similar games in this genre from the last couple of years that I might have missed? I have a two year old laptop I use for gaming and I'm not sure it'll be able to keep up. The only two I can think of are Rebel Galaxy and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.

Trashie, I think you need this one. Badly.

Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy

I made a catch all for this, are we just supposed to talk about it in this thread?

ALL YOUR SPACE GAME IS BELONG TO VELOXI

Gratuitous Space Battles 2 is on sale on the Humble store for $1.99.

I'm gonna suggest you maybe pass. The dev, Cliffy, declared the game a flop and moved on. The first game is where it's at. Get that instead.

Passing at $2 is pretty damn rough. I bought it before posting, and played it a bit. It looks OK, I'm sure I'll get $2 out of it at least, but it does seem to be lacking something the first one had.

From that very article

I still think its a darned good game and am very proud of the engine that was coded for it. I think it is superior in every way to the game that came before it.

Assuming he means GSB1 there and not GTB or something.

I try, my friend, I try.

I think both games in the series are worth owning, especially at that price.

Yes, he's the developer and marketing team rolled into one.

I enjoyed GSB2 quite a bit. It definitely does not have as much content as GSB1 but the visuals and new features are great.

He declared it a *financial* flop. I've enjoyed it quite a bit, as have others, and I think for $2 it's a steal. Well worth it.

Fixed the quote

Oh, sorry, Garion, I was in a bit of a hurry and missed that he was quoting you. My apologies.

I'd avoid GSB2. I had high hopes for it but it's been abandoned and apparently there are some CTD bugs that were never fixed at all, so the game is basically unplayable. Going to have to think twice about any further games from Positech.

Veloxi's steam review from a year ago:

While this game might need a little more time in the oven, it's a fun fleet-based game that I had a good time with when it wasn't crashing or glitching. ;)

Clearly it never got that time.

Well, I'm in for Stellar Tactics. There are still some 2 keys for $12 slots left; I did 4 for $30 with alpha and beta access. So I'll have some goodness to spread around come the alpha.

I have been checking out Mirror Moon EP. A weird and wonder space exploration and puzzle game. You start off inside the darkened cockpit of a switched off space ship and have to figure out the ship navigation and the puzzle on the various planets you can land on. Great art aesthetic and music, too. If you like spaceships and weird indie games with no hand-holding, this is your bag.

It's a fascinating little game, for sure.

I'm waiting until at least the beta, because I've got enough debugging of my own stuff to do.

I think I'll have to look into this some more becuase based on that trailer I'm simultaneously interested and bored. It seems like more of the same. I'm not sure if that makes me happy or sad.
