Wow. That sounds like an amazing experience. I'll hope SO HARD that he comes to Jersey but really, who the hell comes to Jersey?

With the PNC center out there? Damn near everyone

Wife left her old 70s convection oven plugged into a medium-duty extension cord a few weeks back, and it melted the two cords together, then the oven's cord broke off at the plug. Was going to cost $30 for a new extension cord, and at least $50 to fix the oven's cord, but about $15 at Home Depot got me some wire strippers, new male/female cord ends, and a new skill.

Now I want her to break some more electronics.

Broadband Internet. After going without for more than three years it feels amazing and a bit overwhelming to be connected again.

Billybob will be covering the 7th Guest in his next episode of the UMB podcast. Couldn't be happier about that!
Also, his Dark Forces episode today was pretty great too.

"Hey honey - you want some toast in the bath? I'll bring you the toaster."

Oh, that'll go horribly wrong...

The toast will get soggy!!!

That was my first reaction, too.

Homemade lasagna.

Yum!

My dad uses voice-to-text for all his text messaging, with occasionally hilarious results.

Yeah, voice-to-text is amusing. I love my Google Voice transcriptions.

recent voice to text voicemail message I got from my dad:

Hello hey hey call me hey hey please just by rick hey hello hey.

Funny thing was, it was a pocket call.

I just moved to my 6th office in this building. And it's the first one with a window! Wooooooo!!! It's a bit smaller than the old office, and I had to drop a couple pieces of furniture, but I can see the moon rising from my desk!

Congratulations!

I got a text from my mom saying she is planning on getting married on Friday and would like to use my house for the ceremony. She has been with her common law for 17 years.

She had 17 years, and she asks you with two days notice?

Bang, zoom, straight to the moon!

Also, congrats.

GoG.Com

Lightening sale aside, the games this site has offered have been a wonderful treat into my gaming past. I have played (and enjoyed) more hours of Starflight than I ever did when I first played the game. I have even gone so far as to start taking notes about what I find on different planets on a little notepad.

Not sure what brought on the little nostalgia kick, but I'm liking it

Just got my first shipment from yumyumgum.com. They have like a hundred gum flavors and it's all Xylitol based. It is as advertised, incredibly intense flavors in little plastic test tubes. I'd say each piece is about as much gum as a stick of the regular kind.

I tried the maple flavor and it's *amazing*. So that doesn't deserve it's own thread, but I love it.

Tempting!

What Min didn't tell us was that his "move" involved being turned into a werewolf.

Basically he joined the Companions and can slay dragons by yelling at them.

I'm on the eastern edge of the time zone. It is pitch black at like 4:30 here.

I like my explanation more

Pffft. I don't have to yell at dragons to slay them. All it takes is a stern glance.

Went to the new Costco in North Plainfield (NJ) last night. I have never seen so many free samples in my life.

We had meatballs, chicken spring rolls, chocolate cake, chocolate covered fuit things, sirloin tips, garilc bread chips, chocolate covered pretzels & pistachio gelato.

They had a lot more but we already had our 9.99 pizza (half sausage, half pepperoni).

I should go tonight for dinner.

Line your pockets with plastic zip-lock bags and you can grab tomorrow's lunch at the same time!

Thursday's always Major Sample Day.

But, since this is the grand opening, they are doing it for 4 days in a row. It's more like Ultra Sample Day.
