I'm going to try and go to an Oregon Symphony dress rehearsal of Beethoven's 9th Symphony tomorrow morning. Even if I don't get in, it'll still be a fun experience. Also, it's only $20 if I do get in.

Edit: The rehearsal was awesome this morning. Beethoven's 9th symphony is so fun.

I have tickets to see the Toronto Symphony perform the 9th next weekend; I can't wait.

Enjoy! The second movement is the best, and I've had it stuck in my head all day.

George Takei. He is so cute and funny.

As my Gen 2 iPad and iPhone 4S are long out of warranty, I decided to jailbreak both devices. Two jailbreaks are well worth the trouble - Nitrous and f.lux. Chrome with the Nitro JavaScript engine is crazy fast. Now thinking about installing AdBlock, especially on the iPhone to save on bandwidth.

Friday, my wife and I welcomed our second daughter into the world. Gwendolyn Marie is doing great. Mom and baby are happy and healthy. Everyone is tired, but we get to go home today. Ready to be back in our own space and with our other daughter who is ready to be a big sister.

Yay!!

Excellent news, Yoreel. Glad everyone gets to go home today and that your older daughter is enthusiastic about things...couldn't ask for a better start, huh?

Congrats Yoreel!

Congrats Yoreel!

Creative trolling.

I was playing a game of Catan on XBLA the other evening, past my bedtime. In a late stage of the game, someone made a move that sealed my fate, so I quit the game (yes, I know, bad behavior, but also par for the course for that game).

I had a brilliant exchange of messages over XBL with the guy who made the move.

Him: pussy
Me: charming
Him: pussy
Me: charming and uncreative
Him: pussy
Me: charming, uncreative AND repetitive
Him: pussy - ur blocked

I do like it when someone absolves my guilt for some slightly bad behavior by being an utter tool.

And that's why I don't play Catan

After a few games where I still can't grok the heuristics needed to win, and see that I'm incapable of winning because of where I chose to start my first two settlements. That just frustrates me, so I go the War Games route - "the only way to win is not to play".

Good news: My agent just called and informed me that Random House wants to publish my second book.

Better news: She also informed me that since this will be the second book of a planned trilogy, they want to go ahead and sign a two-book deal for the second.

Best news: She finally informed me that Random House doesn't like the idea of owning only two books out of a trilogy, so they're going to go ahead and buy the rights to my first book, and rerelease it under their label.

Excuse me for a moment...

HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T HOLY SH*T

Okay, I'm back.

Congrats!

That reminds me, I need to go finish your first book!

f*ck yeah!

Kick ass Trichy!

Holy craps, trichy, that's awesome! Better get my hands on one of those first prints.

That's amazing, trichy! Congrats!

F**k yeah! And I was just asking you what it would take to get my hands in book 2. Apparently, all I had to do was ask

I can't wait to buy the Random House Kindle version, even though I have the original Kindle version. I will happily double dip for books by Goodjers!

I bet they'll charge more than $3.

Just think, you are now in the lofty publishing company of John Grisham, Danielle Steele and E L James!

50 Shades of 72 Hours!

Grats Trichy that's amazing, amazing, amazing!

Doh double post. Probably should have triple posted. (Grats Trichy that's amazing, amazing, amazing!)

Way to redefine tentacled poop-induction. By which I mean, "Holy sh*t, a trilogy!?" Nicely done, sir.

Goddammit. You're not still planning to make my character a trans hooker, are you??!?
