Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

I can't tell you much about Lloydminster, Strangeblades, but if you take the job you'd only be a few hours from me! I live south of Edmonton, in Red Deer.

Lloydminster is definitely a prairie town, so a bit of a scenery change from what you're used to (Northern Ontario?)

Whooo!

EDIT: I can now take my virtual stalking to the next level.

Huh. This is the statue in front of city hall.

I could like it there.

Why are they commemorating a grown man making a little girl cry? That seems a little mean...

And, the kid appears to be holding up the head of a dead dog. Weird town.

Cards Against Humanity donated the profits from their holiday pack to the Wikimedia Foundation.

The gesture itself lands this in the love thread. The way they announced it on the linked page puts it way over the top.

Can I ask you some questions? If you don't want to answer that's cool. But if you do you can either answer them here or PM me.

1) What do you have to live in and what rent do you pay?

2) Is the average price of gas really $1 a litre?

3) What is the most common source of heat? Propane, gas or electric?

4) Do you know anyone in Lloydminster friend or not? I need places to live.

I have some relatives in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I will poke them and see what I can find out if you like.

Mudbunny, that'd be great. As you might know the housing market is tight-tight-tight in those provinces right now.

Makes me wonder if the arrested development team ever visited there (that kid that found the severed hand /GOB).

Nah, I'm good with letting the Internet know about my personal needs.

My wife and I prefer a two-bedroom apartment. If you know of anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone please let me know. Thanks for any assist.

1) I own my own house, but what I know about here, rent could be expected to be $600 - $1200/mo for apartments. Up to $2000 for a house. EDIT- Oh my. Lloyd seems to be in a bit of a housing shortage. I just had a quick peek at the 2 bedroom ads on kijiji. Seems a bit more expensive.
2) Yeah, we've been floating between $.999 and $1.099 per Liter for the last year or so. Prices can fluctuate a lot from one city to another though.
3) Natural gas is very prominent out here, as we've got so much in the ground. I've been living in Alberta my whole life and have never seen a house without Nat. Gas.
4) I know a guy who has in-laws up there, I could ask him... But I won't be seeing him for a couple of weeks at least.

I'll tell you what. I ask questions for a living and I've cold called hundreds (eep) maybe thousands of people over 10 years of reporting. I'm very sauve on the phone.

1) If you could PM your real name that'd be cool. It would help with the second point.

2) Second point here. I'd use your name as a reference when calling the guy with in-laws. Then I could call the in-laws.

3) If this sounds way too invasive I'll understand. I am just used to doing this kind of legwork.

When you walk into a waiting room that's 45 people deep, there's a women screaming and throwing things at the reception, and another moaning loudly and banging her head into the wall, you just know it's going to be a good shift in the ED. Holy hell I'm tired. But I got to help some folks out tonight who really needed it. Yay medicine!

Gee we must work in the same ED, sounds eerily like my night shift last night!

I love that gas right now is down to $1.15 ($4.392/gal) from $1.30.($4.965/gal) YAY! I wish I could get $1/L ($3.819/gal) price.

Reason for edit* To add in american price equivalents in the hopes that our american friends can gasp at how much I pay for gas.

Hawaii.

Turns out that it is in fact, a tropical paradise.

I seriously leveled up my Being American skill out there. In the space of one afternoon, I rode a horse, then drove a convertible down the coast highway listening to Freebird.

They have finally released the new DLC for Rage and it is only $5 (on Xbox 360). Sadly they have done it with absolutely no fan-fair at all. I really liked this game and am glad to have more of it to play.

I am excited about this, but I just uninstalled the game 5 days ago.

So weird. I was just thinking the other day that maybe I should play Rage again. Then Bam: New DLC. I may have to check it out.

Yea I think I deleted my save game. I am kind of hoping it works like the Deus Ex DLC so I don't have to play through the whole thing to get to the new bits.

Using the DLC as the catalyst to make this my first pile game for 2013 (you know, as long as the world doesn't come to an end this Friday).

That's me for sure. I recently did a full system format/wipe, and my RAGE saves were certainly not at the top of my priority list for backing up. If the DLC has anything besides survival mode/arena/time trials (and it sounds like it does, likely adding some story/new weapons/new areas/new missions) I'd like to check it out, without having to replay the whole game.

Got a completely unexpected gift today from a friend and coworker. I had been waffling on buying a game on sale, and before I could decide on anything, I got a message in my inbox that he had bought it for me

Sally Nasty! You know why, you cheeky little minx

Rage will apparently release a mod kit in the near future. YAY!

EDIT* and by RAge I mean ID and that RAGE will have a mod kit.

Cards Against Humanity (again).

It's the perfect once-in-a-while drunken card game.

Woohoo! Just hit Linebacker!
