Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

Wait, is the money to show the pics or not show the pics?

This one time, at GWJ camp...

There's a reason they're called Slap & Tickles.

It is too big to embed, but anyone who has ever written anything should check it out.

Where's my head-nodding gif when I need him?

In an effort to keep my company's business after some product quality missteps this year, HP sent us a new business class ultrabook to evaluate for the next month, the Folio 9470m. I'm in love with this thing. Ballsy i5 processor, RAM and HDD can be replaced as can the battery, it's dockable, super nice chiclet keyboard that's backlit, one of the nicest trackpads I've ever used (a place where HP is traditionally horrid), the battery can apparently last 6-7 hours and oh yeah, it weighs nothing. It also costs only $200 more than the ProBook 6565b we were using which is bulky, heavy, not terribly well performing, has docking video issues and one of the worst trackpads I've ever used. And I get a similar model from Lenovo to test next week. I do love the fact that my boss hates product research and passes it off to me.

I realize this is going to make me sound old, but I f*cking love naps. I just had a pretty exhausting day, put the baby down for her nap, set my alarm clock for just over an hour, and woke up before the alarm went off - pretty much exactly one hour later. I feel great!

Homemade ginger ale on tap in my kegerator. So easy, 2.5 gallons cost about 5 bucks to make.

Upgraded my Fios intenrnet Speed

Turkey Bombs at Spirits Pub & Grub.

Turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes as a croquet, beer battered and fried. Served in gravy with a fresh made cranberry sauce.

SO. GOOD.

I hate you so incredibly much.

Holy crap. We almost went there last night for dinner, and then didn't.

Now I have to go and try these things.

They do them every year, between Halloween and Christmas. Everything Spirits makes is awesome, but these are by far my favorite. Look forward to them every year.

Kids have been crashing Lego superman into the ground for about 15 minutes straight, and the genuine laughter hasn't diminished any.

We had a bunch of the parents from my daughter's daycare over for supper lady night, including the operator and her son. Seeing her relax over the course of the evening as her 3-year old son, who is normally very clingy, played in the basement with the rest if the kids for 3 hours straight without complaining was worth the effort in prep and cleanup.

Because I'm an idiot, I ran my keys through the wash, including my Lancer's key FOB which is required to get it to do such minor functions as unlocking the doors and starting the engine. These things are expensive and I was freaking out when I realised it except...it's fine! Works perfectly in every respect. That car isn't perfect but in this case I say, Gods bless you Mitsubishi! It's still going into a container full of rice for the night but man, what a relief.

Tomorrow I hand in my resignation for the last job I'll ever have in this country.

Excited, relieved, and absolutely bricking it in equal measures.

Child's Play Charity season is upon us, which means I get to spend all day at work with Desert Bus running in the background.

$140k raised so far, bussing for almost 59 hours, and 135 hours on the clock right now.

The term "bricking".

I assumed they were cookies. A recipe is here.

I think it's fairly safe to say that the union between the set of "Biebs" and the set of people who read this thread would require an electron microscope to see. I think we're safe.

Heh. The reaction in this house is more like this. We order them from a closer bakery, although we are going to drive more than 100 miles to get them. (But it's part of our yearly go to the mountains to escape post-Thanksgiving insanity plan.)

Hahahahaha! That bakery is two blocks from where I am living.

Wheee. I got a chance to write content/background for a boardgame design. I'm so pumped.

Thanks. It's nerve wracking and fun all at once. I save time that way.

Governor Christie on SNL. Kinda nice to know that the East Coast can look back and laugh so soon.
