Rats. I was hoping I could use it for difficult patients. :D

Oh. In that case, all you need is "Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

If only that worked on doctors... :-)

Actually, I love it when I get a medically/scientifically trained patient. I can usually communicate complex ideas more readily to them. We can also do the super secret white-labcoat dance that only doctors and scientists know about.

Best doctor conversation I ever had was with a neurologist who saw that I wasn't an idiot and treated me like an equal. Almost a shame that my headaches had already stopped by the time I saw him.

When I had my first driving lesson, the first question the instructor asked me was what I did for a living. When I replied "aerospace engineer", he said "OK, so you know how a clutch and engine works, right? Off we go then."

The good doctor's diagnostic skills clearly needed work.

Oh Coldstream, you're so jotes.

Jotes is... totes jelly? Jelly totes?

"Jerk-like Offering That Excremental Snappishness"?

Jolly old tea & English sausage. Duh.

I am disappointed that nobody has given us an image of "jelly totes" yet.

I don't think you're ready for my jelly. Totes.

Anything to make you happy.

Thanks! My faith in Internet humanity is restored. There wasn't even any rule 34 material.

You can do that searching yourself. Safe search generally stays on around here at least until after the kids are asleep.

I'm upgrading my internet connection from 8 down .3 up to 30 down 5 up for only $8 a month extra

Though I'm sure I'll be in the loathe thread soon complaining about the inevitable throttling of said connection since it's through a cable company.

Oh man, that's just plain awesome.

Cards Against Humanity. Holy sh*t.

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life.

Looks like an even more adult-themed Apples to Apples, which is a gaming night standby for us. Too bad it's sold out.

Yup. The biggest concern is your kids would need to be somewhere else if we played it at game night at your house.

Interview at a company I used to work at scheduled for Monday. I'm pumped cause they are basically going to be giving me three interviews to see what area I will fit best in since I have a pretty varied skill set. The way I see it 3 interviews in 1 means, that many more chances for a new gig.

There's PDFs on the site so you can print your own. My room-mate did it and we played it last week, and I haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time.

Spoiler:

The "Two midgets sh*tting in a bucket" card is the win button.

Apples to Apples is bad enough when you're playing with Iranian nationals and have both Anne Frank and The Gulf War in your hand.

Banana Cream Pie Coffee. I find it is rare for specialty flavor coffee to taste like it promises. But The Grand Traverse Pie Co. is a chain here in Michigan, northern Ohio. They do monthly special flavors. And damn if this coffee does not taste exactly as if you take a bit of pie and wash it down with a sip of coffee.

That sounds... oddly tempting.

Woop! We can lock them in a room upstairs.

The Canadian Store still has some available. If you want to bother (it says that there's another printing due to arrive in May), I can order a set for you and send them your way.

I'll get 64gb of ram from amazon, throw out those eight 2gb sticks, and pick a nice pcie drive before the workstation ships in a week.

I found an office supply place that carries chairs made to specification right here in Soviet Canuckistan, and are sanely priced.

And when I say "found", I mean "finally went into after walking past it twice a week only two blocks from my house".

I left my digital recorder with dozens of interview segments on it, second camera, notepad, pens and my Kindle Keyboard TM at a town that is 40 minutes away from I live and mostly work.

That's the good news, good news being I remembered where I left it.

The better news is the daughter of the man I interviewed lives in my city and returned them to me at the office. Life rules.
