Pony Up for Ponies - Achieved!

For the extra $$$, how about we let Rabbit decide to send it to a charity of Rabbit's choice??

And I know Rabbit mentioned something about interviewing the developer, and taking this article seriously, but I'd be much more interested in his attempt at some Sparkle Pony fan fiction.

I would keep the money within the donation's drive goal: to support the GWJ website and everything around it.
Donating it to somewhere else is great, but that is not why this all started?

For Rabbit? I don't know.

From what's implied on the podcast he's terrible at platformers.

EDIT: However, I'd read an in-depth article on TWEWY and the decisions that went into it. Not sure how easy the language/culture barrier would be to cross though.

It turns out the developer is mostly an art-asset chop shop who most recently worked on Driver San Francisco, and they're based in Euro somewhere. I'm noodling 3-4 ideas though, both ridiculous and sublime.

My 12 year old daughter is fascinated by this whole thing, and is going to play the game as well. God help her.

I thought this was a family friendly site

One of the Prinny games on PSP? Henry Hatsworth (although he may have played that)? Dark Souls (not a platformer, but my personal favorite game right now)?

....

Or maybe this?

Now I KNOW there are others who want to donate. Including Certis' lost $50 for this magnificent endeavor. What can we do about that? Ideas?

Oi! This all happened while I am at work, so I haven't had the chance to read this thread, or send in my or Certis' do donations! That really bums me out! And here I am starting this whole thing, too...
Do we have an "overage" plan yet?

Epic Mickey 2 or Kingdom Hearts since he's admittedly a Disney World fan?

That might be worse than ponycorns.

No overage plan, yet, but if nothing else, I will take your money.

Spoiler:

And donate it to GWJ with your username so you get credit.

Thanks, hedge. I really wanted to get in on this, though.
I guess my contribution to the Rabbit torture will be getting the ball rolling.

I'll Nth Epic Mickey 2. What I saw at PAX was intriguing, but I didn't have time to delve into it.

What's the cost for a video feed of Rabbit playing Sparkle Ponies until he completes it?

It does say he will write about any game or topic of your choice. The sky is the limit.

We're only $475 away from making story #2 a reality...

I say we use the overage to get something else in the donation...

Perhaps the $250 Sponsor a podcast... I'm sure we can come up with some good sparkle pony Pre-Roll and Mid-Roll copy to be read by the hosts Rabbit.

I'd rather the collective didn't start getting split off into different tiers (like sponsorship, etc.) as it would get fairly confusing. I'm ok with the other rabbit writing spot getting setup, though.

The question is, do we allow Rabbit to write about Bioshock, or continue to torture with Everquest?

So I say again...

(chug)

I will refuse to release the funds if the decision is Bioshock. Enough has been said about that game, and I suspect Julian is just looking for an excuse to go to Boston and hang out with Ken all day and drink home made beers together.

I would however <3 an expose on the implosion of Brad Wardell and the sh*tpile that was Elemental.

Are there any terrible board games we could get him to write about?

Maybe as the antithesis to the Sparkle Ponies:

First off, I don't think I ever said I'd *FINISH* Sparkleponies. I said I'd do my best possible work.

Second, Ken doesn't drink beer.

Third, I don't really think I have all that much more to say about BioShock anyway.

Giant sigh of relief. Now Skyoshock, on the other hand...

Your suffering and desperation makes the reward sweeter, rabbit. Now we just need a price. And a webcam.
