NCAA 13 XBOX 2 Star Season 1 Week 9

I think I had about 4 this game 3 on offense and 1 on a kickoff.

I don't want to hear it, Temple's in for an (0-3) start to the season.
Tennessee, Notre Dame, Penn State.

Going to work on the BCS Schedule later today. I'll have to look over Cincy's schedule *cracking knuckles*

Alright firesloth. When are you available to play?

I could play at 10:30 am today or sometime late tonight (11 pm is probably realistic for me). I'm also home tomorrow morning I think. I could play most evenings, though my boys have been up pretty late, so I doubt I could really play until 11 most nights, but I'll look for times to hope on earlier.

We will shoot for 11 then tonight. The kids should be asleep. I just won't be able to talk much.

So looking over my schedule. If I can come out of my first 4 weeks unbeaten I have a good chance of going unbeaten through the regular season. I have 2 HvH games next then Syracuse in game 4. That's a tough first 4 weeks.

Exactly, so quit yer whining :p

I think there could be issues with the AI offense not being effective enough.

Holding could still be dropped a notch, but I would suggest we all look at our OL Awareness and how we set our offensive strategies. If you are on the road, you might need to go more conservative.

Recruiting is done for Temple for Week 1.

Sounds good. Sorry I couldn't make it work this afternoon.

Starting with USC won't be pleasant...

I get an alright start against CSU...I hold a slight edge...but it is a big rivalry game...so, should be fun times.

Fresno State hosted the Hoosiers of Indiana and escaped with a 25-21 win. Fresno dominated the time of possession but was trailing late due to a tough Indiana linebacker corp and some bad throws by the QB. Trailing 25-19 Fresno marched down the field and on a huge 4th and 16, the QB hit a open running back that got behind the linebackers for a first down. Trying to play clock, my running back found an opening. He was trying to do his best Brian Westbrook but was spun into the endzone to take the lead. The 2 point conversion failed. Indiana marched down the field but was intercepted to close out the game.

Good game firesloth. I had no answer for your running back.

Also, we are ready to roll to Week 2!

So I looked up the average number of penalties per game, and I think we are okay. Indiana averaged nearly six penalties a game last year, and the same with Fresno.

http://www.teamrankings.com/college-...

The real test would be to see if Navy gets significantly fewer penalties, as they averaged just 2.5.

I had no offense outside of that third quarter. I thought I had your back stopped behind the line on that last TD, and when I missed him and switched to the safety, he took off in the wrong direction.

I definitely have to get used to this team. I thought my defense played well once you were inside the 10 yard line, but otherwise they gave up a lot. You had over 500 yards of total offense.

The penalties drove me nuts. I made a 3rd down goal line stop inside the 2, only to have a facemask called. I also had a TD run to a wide open side called back because of a hold. That one was completely unnecessary – there was no defender even capable of making a play on the runner, and the block in question occurred when my runner was well past the line.

When is good for you Willie? Tonight is fine by me.

I see a 5 win season at best for Indiana this year. It's a pretty awful team! The good news is that it's young at nearly every position.

And on recruiting: Ugh...at least he's an Indiana boy who wants to stay home!

Hey, you're from South Bend.. You should know how bad IU football is. I'm an alum and wouldn't have touched them!

Yeah, I sorta' took a flying leap, not thinking about what I was getting into... Besides, this half of the state doesn't know much about what goes on in that half of the state. Plus, when I lived in Louisville and Hanover, IN, I didn't pay attention to college football.

They have a cool stadium, and I liked their uniforms. They were 2*. That was pretty much the basis of my decision. I didn't really think about their schedule. Crap. I hope no 18 year old recruiting prospects make their decisions that way. Except the ones in this game...

Ah, well, it'll be challenging. I might even eek out a few upsets along the way.

Notre Dame West, err, I mean, Kansas rolls over Baylor 31-21 in a game that was not as close as the score indicates.

Fifth-year senior transfer fron ND, Dayne Crist was player of the game, going 17 of 19, throwing 2 TDs and running for another. Another fifth-year senior transfer from ND, TE Mike Rogaine was a huge factor on third down, netting 4 receptions and 74 yards.

But it was really the defense that sacked Baylors QBs 5 times, and picked them off twice that won the game for Kansas. They also shut down the ground of the Bears.

I'm good for tonight won't be till around say 10 going to see Batman with the wife at 515 then getting some food after.

Enjoy! I will be on

I just want to point out that when I pasted my recap into the EA Dynasty site, they censored Kiffin to Lane ******. Hilarious.

Comeback Attempt Comes Up Empty for the Warriors

In a rainy, slippery and sloppily played game, USC outlasted Hawaii on their home turf to open the season. Down 35-14 in the 3rd Quarter, the Hawai'i Warriors made a furious comeback attempt against the nations second ranked team. In the end, miscues and and inability to stop the Trojans late doomed the Warriors. The story for Hawaii can be summed up with two stat lines:

Starting QB Graham: 12-25, 190 yds, 5 INT, 0 TD
Backup QB Schroeder: 4-4, 187 yds, 0 INT, 2 TD

After the game, it was announced that Schroeder would be starting the Warriors second game at Stanford. Lane Kiffin made things interesting with his agressive play calling, going for it on 4th down with a lead multiple times and TWO fake punts (one which resulted in a TD that turned the tide late in the first half). Contributing to the Warriors woes were three dropped passes on 3rd down that would have moved the chains. After each drop, USC would respond by putting 6 points on the board. Not a way you want to start a season, but perhaps the late charge can give Hawaii momentum to get this season on the right track.

Duke jumps out to an early lead and holds on to defeat WMU, 35-28. Duke loses impact players in the process though. My stud QB is done for the year. My stud WR is out for 8 weeks.

boooourns

10 turnovers between 2 teams with my QB counting for all 6 of mine including a fumble late on a third and ten

I need to turn holding and facemasks down. That was ridiculous.

Do what you need to make the game fun. But FYI, WMU averaged 7.1 penalties a game last year, and Duke average 4.8. You guys were actually under the norm.

Graduate of the Naval Academy and hometown boy From Homestead Sr. High Coach Spy Navy led the FIU Panthers to an opening day victory. Relegated to the Panthers after an NFL scandal involving a senior owners daughter, Spy Navy brought his high flying offense and stifling Defense back to South Florida. While many see this as his attempt to get closer to more desirable schools such as University of Miami or Florida State the coach vehemently denies this. Known for developing Linebackers and QBs his LB Corps set an NCAA record for sacks in a single game as well as causing a number of fumbles and interceptions. The Toledo QB was brought to tears and had to be benched briefly. The Panthers QB set a school record for passing yards. His RB performance was acceptable but the lack of explosive plays in the run game caused the Coach to unleash a few expletives at his Offensive Lineman ending with "At least you fat f@ckers can pass protect". The 71-0 victory should open some eyes around the college football scene and excite Panther faithful. When asked about the huge victory the Coach quoted a known influence, Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game". He ended the press conference by saying, "It's Toledo, of course we should have beaten the brakes off of 'em".

I think there were a total of 9 penalties called. 4 holding, 3 facemasks, and 2 false starts. And like someone else mentioned, one of the holding calls was well away from the play and didn't need to happen.
