NCAA 13 XBOX 2 Star Season 1 Week 9

I am dropping from the league. Tough for me to be consistent with current work OPTEMPO.

Best, Spy. Thanks for playing!

EDIT: And, I guess that means we're ready to roll in record time!

Almost forgot to post week 12, lol...anyway, week is rolled. If we keep this pace, I can roll again on Friday Maybe we can catch the BCS league in weeks for our season two, lol

Played and beat Washington 20-7.

In recruiting news, the following Indiana targets announced their decisions:

WooHoo!

Greg Stephens is a 77-rated JUCO guard. I'd guess 1/3 of my recruits this season are JUCO players. Still, it means they can start on day 1!

EDIT: Goodness, I'm gonna' have troubles when it comes time to cut players. I only have 4 graduating seniors, leaving me 64 players after graduation...and I'll likely get to nearly 25 recruits.

Nice recruiting grab. Hopefully I can steal that CB we are both after from you. I will try to get to my week tonight after work.

I do hate over recruiting though because the players that are cut can't transfer to another team in the game and just disappear.

Yeah, they disappear, but if you cut them now, you should have better players at those positions and shouldnt ever need them anyway, lol.

Or you just arent a good coach. Either way...its in the past..shouldnt focus that way.

I just think of myself as the Nick Saban of NCAA 13...

Wow...Colorado Dismantled AF tonight 63-0. All cylinders were firing as my defense forced 3 INTs and 9 sacks. Their line was more open than a vegas hooker. I was able to knock out thier starting QB at the start of the second quarter. Then their second stringer was knocked out at the end of the third. CU smothered their run game and was right on que to knock loose any receptions by the receivers and two of the INTS were returned for TDs. On Offense, CUs QB went 21-30 for 345 yards and the HB went 14 attempts for 185 yards. There was nothing AF could do to stop them. After the game, AFs head coach was overheard saying "great game coach, but if you every beat us this bad again, I'll bomb your house." Not very nice, but understandable. CU is now 10-0 and is looking for a chance to play Southern Miss.

Indiana ultimately beats up on Duke, 48-20. However, Duke led 20-13 going into the half behind fumble and INT returns for scores. The fumble was on a punt and the INT return went for about 98 yards. Ugh.

Still, Indiana tied it in the 3rd quarter and went ahead in the 4th. The score was more lopsided than it should have been. With 2:00 to play, Indiana was up 34-20. However, sometimes running out the clock (or rather the opposing team trying hard to stop you) can lead to some nice, long runs. IU's HB Houston scored twice in those final minutes on 40+ yard runs.

Overall Houston had 36 rushes for 237 yards or so, this after being bottled up pretty well in the first half.

IU amassed 575 yards of total offense and intercepted Duke 5 times. For some reason Duke's QB decided it was fun to lob a ball into double and triple coverage.

I guess former coach Leroy didn't coach him *that* well...clearly he spent most of the time with the defense.

You struggled against a duke team missing two star players. Lol at IU

Well, I beat a team 48-20 that was better rated than me across the board, including grabbing 5 INTs and shutting then out in the second half. I'll take it!

Still, the Duke safeties are quite good, and I definitely made some dumb mistakes.

Probably would have done better if they still had their old coach.

I am done for the week. Since FIU is no longer a user team can we move it back to the sun belt after the season?

Dukes backup qb is so bad

I guess we are waiting for Bonney!

Not as bad as their kicker, who missed a PAT and a 29 yard FG. Short in the latter case.

On the other hand, their FB is a beast!!

I played last night but it didn't take. Will play again tonight. Zell it would be cool to play you. I still don't know how I jumped to #3 from #9 . The only thing I can think of is score differential, i.e blowing out opponents.

Zell,

Unless you are going to use that 1 hour of recruiting time, we are ready to roll!

WUP HIM!!!!

IU beats Navy, 56-3. IU scored enough to win on the 4th play. After holding Navy to a 3-and-out on their first possession, IU's Shane Wynn took a punt return back for a 70 yard TD. What's more, he did it on IU's last touch of the ball, scoring another punt return TD with only 2 seconds left on the clock.

IU wracked up almost 500 yards of total offense, including 322 passing yards from Tre Roberson, who had 4 TDs and 0 INTs.

The IU defense forced 3 turnovers, 2 fumbles and an INT.

By the way, last night's game is the last of my regular season, and IU finished 10-2. My losses were to Michigan and Fresno State. (Damn you Shag, beating me in the first game of the season!!)

My QB set a school record for passing yards, while one of my CBs set a record for the number of INTs.

My defense had 40 takeaways (28 INTs, 12 fumbles), good for best in the NCAA! Which is good...since I have up the ball 34 times!! Stupid INTs.

It looks like I'll play Iowa for the Big 10 championship. Should be fun.

One last thing...or two.

I've switched my playing style on defense this year so that I almost always control a LB or safety. In the past years when I tried to do that, I was burned a lot (screw you, Leroy), but I've gotten used to it now. What's interesting is that this has made my D-line grab a large number of sacks, particularly one DT who has 13 on the season. It's not as if I'm blitzing with the LBs, as I'm usually using them for coverage and to sniff out screen passes. I guess that helps enough to allow my D-linemen time to get to the QB.

Also, thinking about next season: are we at the right difficulty? Maybe we picked teams that were better than we thought...many of us seem to be in the top 25 or on its cusp for a 2* league. Part of this may be the smaller number of HvH games this season. I only had one (which I lost...screw you, Shag!). Should we consider consolidating into a single conference next season?

I almost spit my coffee out.
