I can't. I'm probably going to grab this despite it not being at its all time low price of $15.

YOU GUYS AREN'T HELPING! Are you sure it's been on sale before? You might be thinking about Sign.

Hmm, was Sign ever on sale for PS4 PSN? Possible. Anyway, let's go buy this sh-t together, eh? Oops, still failing the anti-enable...

I already bought it. I'll play with you when I get back from Europe.

Am I doing this right?

... I guess I'll be able to join you guys too now.

I've never played an anime fighting game (aside from blasting through the Persona Arena story modes because I jump at any and every chance to consume more Persona), so I'm going to be completely lost. I'll try to pull myself away from SFV long enough to get through at least some of the tutorial so that I'm not completely lost.

And going back to SFV, wasn't this update supposed to have more profile stats? Doesn't look like anything new was added to those screens.

horipad + win 8.1 +sfv ... can't seem to get it working, not having much luck with either x360ce nor joy2key, any suggestions? can't remember what I resorted to last time I had it installed :/

in case anyone else encounters similar it turns out the solution was to make sure I was using x360ce_x64 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64 (or your equivalent directory)

I am HYPED. I'm not actually going, but there should be streams available.
Specifically for GG AC +R, GG Xrd R, and AH3LM - which I also now have on PS3 (and Vita, and Steam).
Oh and I have GG AC +R on Steam too.

The tutorial is seriously great. I'm a newbie too, so yay! We can play each other!
And I'm glad there's a new GG Revelator player here, so I can impart this wisdom on picking a character in keeping with the GG mantra.
Pick whoever's coolest.

I've never used characters with 360s that much, but in the one game I've tried it with my Hit Box, it only seems to work when I input 84268.

Have GG Revelator boughten'd and installed! Not sure when I'll get around to playing. In the grips of Destiny again...

This is true, but don't pick Ramlathel unless if you like self flagellation.

expanded schedule
*girlish Japanese voice* eeeeeehhhhhh! Arcana Heart 3 only gets Top 4 streamed.
Also +R only gets Top 4 too.

Hopefully I can finish all the AnimEvo 2016 youtube vids before Friday night.

Also, apparently Xrd Revelator gets patch 1.04 on the 30th. Whoopsie daisy. Organizers have asked people bringing consoles for the tourney to make sure not to enable autodownloads.
Jam got nerfed
Ram got buffed.

Amazon Studios is about to reveal some new games and one of them might be a fighting game. Maybe trying to beat Riot to the punch with a Dota-like Fighting game.

Nope, not a fighting game but they got some fighting game folks like old man Valle to show it.

Was Rising Thunder any good? I never bothered to check it out. How much did they simplify fighting game mechanics?

No, and too much. Basically they built 3 special move buttons and used those in liu of motions. It was an interesting experiment, but to balance the lack of execution they added ability cooldowns. That resulted in a lack of balance, characters either couldn't do enough or could do way too much. The game got shut down before they could fix that.

What killed the game for me was lack of personality. It was bland, there was no clear reason why I should pick Robot A over Robot B since they had nothing to identify with.

So amazon prime when linked to your twitch account gets you stuff. One of the things it does it allow you to sub a twitch channel for free every 30 days.

Subbing capcom fighters gets you all their channel videos. I'm an hour into last week's EGX final.

As a counterpoint to ahrez, I liked it a whole lot - in fact I'd even go as far as to say that I think it easily had the potential to be better than both SFIV and V, had they had the time to deliver the content. The simplification of mechanics didn't do any damage to the core gameplay, all they did was remove the motions and add cooldowns instead. Now, I love my motions and my difficult combos, but after a short while of adjusting to the fact that I sometimes had to wait to use a specific move, it felt very natural. The fighting was dynamic and impactful, I also liked both the gameplay- and the visual design of the characters.
I was kind of done with the game when they shut it down, but that had mostly to do with how few characters there still were and that I had been playing with and against all those characters countless times in the stupid amount of hours I had put into the game.

I'm very much looking forward to whatever the Radiant guys are cooking up over at Riot.

I'm still searching for my main. I played a few matches with B today and I had some fun with Urien I may give him a try just because he seems fun.

My issues with the game all stemmed from it being an alpha. I had no issue with the loss of motions or the cooldowns, the devs just didn't have enough time to really flesh out the game.

Watched a metric ton of the CEOtaku streams and it was quite good. Doren2k represented Jam Kuradoberi well, coming in 3rd overall. There were actually 21 entrants to the AH3LM tourney.

Supposing I should learn more than one character in Guilty Gear, I'm thinking of Ky. That lightning sword is dead sexy.

Looking at twitter, "Announced at #CEOTaku: @aksysgames will bring back Anime Ascension on Feb. 18-19 at UC Irvine. Non-Aksys/ArcSys anime games included!"

I watched a Melty Blood tournament on youtube, that is quite a well-animated game.

I hope it does well. Examu made it, and I like those guys.

So I thought "what the heck is Nitroplus Blasterz"? and looked it up..sorry, not feeling the need nor desire for another fighting game full of what appear to be scantily glad school girls.

While the gaming industry as a whole could improve on this stuff the fighting genre in particular seems to be overly resistant to growing past it (or perhaps just want to keep catering to a very certain demographic).

But....but the one fighter throws cats as her main attack. Cats.

I really like the idea of a super low barrier to entry fighting game. Even though SFV lowered the execution barrier, it still takes so much time to get even somewhat proficient. I've been playing SFV since launch and still feel like I'm nowhere close to being actually good at this game. That complexity is of course what I love about the genre, but it would be nice to have a game that could allow a person to experience the joys of fighting games without having to make a huge investment of time. Sure, anyone can go in and button mash, but mashers aren't actually getting the chance to see what makes fighting games good. That's why MK sells so well---people are mainly just there for the silly brutality and not for the substance.

I guess Divekick tried to explore that idea, but I just didn't think it was all that good of a game. So I hope whatever comes out of that studio is awesome.

Necalli's looks sweet too.

Need a pic of Chun's. Maybe she got boned because she already has like 10 costumes

that's a damn fine costume.

Rising Thunder didn't do away with all of it. Every move was one button, but you still had cancels which I think are the hardest part. It was a good experiment though, and I would have liked to see how a wider audience would have responded.

Divekick was satire, and I never took it as a serious attempt to make fighting games more approachable.

Anybody up for Revelator tonight? I'm downloading it now.

Is Revelator on PC?

No, not yet. Rumor is early 2017, but there is no official word regarding a PC-release so far...

Ahhh, I missed Revelator time! edit: already friends with Ahrezmendi, but how did you download without signing in?

Also, Melty Blood has a parry mechanic! It's called EX Shield. I love parry.

Also, I missed most of the conversation during last night's playtime on Curse, but anime fighting games are awesome. It felt weird I couldn't air dash

What I need to know about the Twitch-Amazon deal, is if linking my account means my Amazon details are somehow searchable or viewable on Twitch and vice versa. I have no desire to have anyone see that information but me.

Whee! Bought Street Fighter: Third Strike: Online Edition for PS3.
I am going to lose horribly. Makoto rocks. Go go Makoto.
Or I play the new Overwatch mode.

Why is it that May summoning DOLPHINS doesn't bother me, but Baiken summoning a tatami mat does?
