Urgh, GW1 Dervish just got a major overhaul, which pretty much means relearning the class, or in my case, learning it properly.

It's a testament to the commitment that Arena Net has to Guild Wars that they did this major overhaul (and what an overhaul) to a class that has been out for almost 4.5 years.
Can't wait for Guild Wars 2.

Yeah, I'm quite keen, and simultaneously scared, to jump back into my Derv. It's all new now.
I'll pay attention more when it is close to comingout in 2012, hey isn't SWTOR coming out then also? :)
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does it look like GW 2 has slipped to 2012? A lot of the media outlets I've been following have listed it as a 2011 release.

I'm trying to pin down where I saw 2011/2012 speculation.
Also: A spirit of legend
I believe the last official release date was aiming for November 2, 2011. The catch is that the actual release date will be determined based on alpha and beta feedback. So, in all likelihood, it's going to fall to 2012.
The sixth class is The Thief.

That looks interesting - a revamped assassin of sorts. I wish I could quit looking at trailers, especially since the game won't be out for a year I keep getting excited then sad, in a vicious cycle.
The reward scheme for events sounds interesting. Participating gets you karma, and karma is a currency for loot from vendors. As he said in the demo, no need for farming a specific boss/event for a certain drop, and you're not competing with others. Like WoW emblems, but outside of a dungeon.
Not leaked this time, the gametrailers vids were pulled

Today one of our trusted media partners jumped the gun and released a gameplay video revealing the thief profession and details of our upcoming PAX East demo build early. In fairness to all our other partners in the media who honored their commitments and kept the information under wraps, we’re allowing them to release videos and info as well. We think this is fair to all our fans out there who are already really excited about our upcoming presence at PAX East. Next week we’re kicking off a week-long preview that showcases the thief, attributes, and other new features you’ll see in our new demo.
At the end of the week, we’d like to invite those fans who can make it to PAX East to come play the new Guild Wars 2 demo and experience all the new features first hand.
For anyone who didn't get to watch the GameTrailers videos before they were quickly pulled, they can now be seen here.

Tuesday: Lead Systems Designer and all-around-great guy Isaiah Cartwright Esquire the Third will talk about the revamped attributes system in an in-depth blog post.
Wednesday: Game Designer Andrew McLeod will give you some insight into Guild Wars 2’s crafting and gathering systems.
Friday: The thief page goes live on GuildWars2.com, complete with skill videos and all the usual bells and whistles you expect from a profession reveal.
Friday: We’ll send you an update from the floor of PAX East!
As much as I hate crafting for being fun sapping busy work I'm interested to see how A.net implements it.
I have to say that picture is the first of that race that looks bad ass. Most of them look so out of place saccharin.
I always found all Asura creepy as f*ck.
From a distance they look like a bunny, but up close they are pretty horrible.
I like the Asura. The obvious comparison is to Warcraft's Gnomes, but they're less 'cutesy' cute, and less annoying, but with a similar "everyone else is stupid" edge. Side by side, I'd say that Warcraft's Gnomes is trying too hard at filling the same role, where as the Asura seem to fit a bit better and feel natural. But then, trying to compare the two universes is heading a bit down the wrong path, as WC is a game of extremes.
The Asura section of the EotN campaign is quite interesting, with them all trying to out invent each other and the rivalries that go with it.
Yeah, the first time I saw an Asura my initial reaction was totally like Fang's. Essentially, 'What's this cutesy sh*t?'
Then I bought the PC Gamer for the Asura pet and I got a good look at him. There's a lot more to those critters than you would think. I've just started the Asura stuff in EoTN and they are really interesting so far. I could happily have curb stomped Gadd.
And their eyes and teeth are universally creepy.
The thief above looks cool though, I've struggled to imagine an Asura as a front line fighter.
The GW2 presentation at Pax East will be live streamed at 10:30 est. Stream will be here.
Edit: The mod is saying there will be an announcement at 10:30. I'm hoping they say they've done the first beta testing and will start the public beta.
The live demo looks good. It feels a bit like GW1, but with a whole load of new.
I wasn't so hot on the Guardian when it was announced, but I like the look of its powers.
Sad the "special announcement" was the Thief class.
Well, it was leaked. At the end they teased the 3 factions that will progress the story after the initial race stories.
edit: the Thief page is up
Actually I am pretty stoked after looking at the thief videos.
I think TERA is going to risk being dead in the water if they don't release by the end of this year. Guild Wars is seemingly trumping it in every way except anime oogaba art direction. (which probably should not be underestimated)

The thief does look awesome. I'm just hoping that class has more survavibility than the GW1 assassin. Things were so bad that groups often refused to play with an assassin.
The problem with the Assassin isn't so much that it's very squishy, you can play around that. A big problem was that the Afflicted in Factions explode on death. It's not the best setting for a high DPS low armour class.
