Invite sent.

Oh, the humanity!

Follow up, with sound bites.

I've said it before, but I really like how in GW the human race is the waning race. It's a real change to the usual Tolkein formula we get everywhere else.

They got me with "Pew! Pew! Pew! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!".

It's one of the things I'm noticing about WoW is that the world they've got, especially most of the 5 new areas, seems a bit hollow with almost no normal NPCs with their lives. GW2 looks to be going the other way.

Character Art: Designing Humans

Now is it just me, or does that second picture look a bit mesmerising?

Does rather.

I also see that people who complain about female armour leaving a lot of skin uncovered will be able to say the same about male armour here too.

The last paragraph covers their approach to 'chainmail bikini' armour:

I would like to say a quick word about where we stand when it comes to the “sexiness” of our armors and costumes. This is a controversial subject that I encounter frequently on forums and message boards—not just about Guild Wars, but about a lot of games. I understand that many players feel that armor should be practical, realistic, and shouldn’t leave skin exposed to attack. When coming up with ideas for armor, the character and concept department try to balance the practical with the fantasy. We make armor that looks protective and functional, but we also make armor that looks sexy and shows a generous level of strategically placed skin. We recognize the “fantasy” aspect of our game; if you are able to rain down balls of fire from the sky, your clothing should not be a factor when it comes to body temperature, whether you are wearing your underwear or a fur coat. We’ve always intended to create outfits for male and female characters that are appealing and attractive without making our players feel uncomfortable about what their character or other player-characters are wearing. I think that Guild Wars has been very successful in this regard, and we will continue to make outfits that adhere to this philosophy.

Also the way armour is divided up in light/medium/heavy rather than per-profession sounds interesting, but they acknowledge it will reduce the unique feel for each profession. They're emphasising the individual customisation as the upside, and it's a price to pay for that.

Yeah I saw that, the pic with the guy in gladiator armour just made me laugh. At least it's equal opportunity chainmail bikinis.

It is a bit of a shame about the non class specific armour, but I don't doubt that the direction they are going in will turn out cool.

Probably launching in the second half of 2011, perhaps 2012.

The human page on the main GW2 site seems to have been expanded in comparison to the other races.

I'm sure every race will have a week leading up to release. As the old race it makes sense to start with the humans.

Once all 5 races and 8 professions have had a reveal, and a few more facets of the game along the way, I think it will probably be time to start expecting something more. I don't think they've said much of PvP so far.

Has ArenaNet mentioned if there was going to be any transition between characters in GW1 to GW2? Will I gain anything in GW2 if I started a GW1 character in anticipation?

The Line of Duty – The Three Military Orders of Kryta

The relationship between the three martial arms of the human nation of Kryta is a delicate one. The Seraph are the army, the police force, and the protectors of the populace. The Ministry Guard serve the ministers, government officials, and nobility of Divinity’s Reach. The Shining Blade are the queen’s personal bodyguard and, as the well-informed may tell you, her spies.

Ummm,...

Is this SQUEEEEE appropriate?

I submit that it is.

That's pretty convincing.

I've never wanted to work in QA, sounds like it's a cool job at Arena.net though.

Apparently next week is the Norns.

Man. I know their current strategy is to drip feed info, but that's barely a drip.

I can't blame them. It's going to get lost in the noise of the Rift launch anyway.

Meh, I lost interest as the wait grew interminably long.

Yep, yep. Let's get ready to Ruuummmmbbbllleeee!!!!

Designing and redesigning events - On events, with a Norn example.

It does seem like they've got the least to talk about with the Norn.

I'll pay attention more when it is close to comingout in 2012, hey isn't SWTOR coming out then also?

I thought TOR was meant to be out in spring 2011 originally :\

Who knows.
