Guild Wars 2 Catch All

Outlandish, or anyone in the lvl 30+, is there any reason to be stingy with spending Karma points?

I'm 23 and sitting on about 3k+ points, and seeing upgrades for about 500+ points. Tempting but should I save them for later on? I know some crafting items/ recipes can only be bought using Karma but that aside?

your cultural weapons which tend to be big improvements cost around 1k karma each

Are those the tier 1, 2, 3 vendors?

Speaking his name, summoned him and started an event to kill him and clear out the tomb.

Very cool! Were you given some kind of hint to kneel or did you just have a gw1 flashback?

So I hit level 30 last night and am itching to see the Ascalonian Catacombs. Anyone up for a story mode run tonight say 9-10 EST?

Just wait until you get to the big puzzle area in LA. Hint - make sure you bring a weapon that has an AoE you can target.

That one would have been haaaarrrrrrd without a torch. That one was amazing, as I found it completely by accident. And the voice acting was hilarious.

Apparently that's been fixed and they're now a little bit more expensive.

edit: In fact, karma vendors apparently seem to have a lot of 'generous' prices that people are taking advantage of. Supposedly you can get cultural armour for 21 karma. This seems like something that's too good to be true, so I'd be wary of it.

So I think I am finally settling down with a "main". The guardian has just taken over and she's level 14.5. The great thing is that I primarily run with a greatsword but I carry around one of each weapon to swap out my alternate set. I even have a shield that I rarely use.

It is just so easy to spice things up switching between hammer, mace/shield, scepter/torch, and sword/torch. So for instance I really like the mace skills but after a while the lack of a close the gap skill can be irritating. So you then switch to a sword for the teleport to enemy skill. But the sword lacks burnination and the torch's burns are on short range. So you switch to a scepter and get a ranged ground pound and a root. The torch's holy cone of fire and doom is a pretty awesome skill to boot.

My warrior and elementalist are 11ish. The rest are still hanging around level 8. I should really start crafting. I think it will help with the 7-10 doldrums.

was this fixed today? because my 1handers were 768 and 2h were 1.2k just last night.

number 4 (cant remember name) isnt short range, and while #5 is short range is does SERIOUS damage.

I like the 2h sword but the cool downs take forever

You're given a hint if you examine the statue. But it's one of those things where I imagine most people don't even think to examine the statue as it will just be "fluff". Also, if you don't go through a specific conversation chain with the Guardian, you'll miss the part about speaking the guys name. Or if you don't even read it and just "click through".

Mine as well.

I just hopped over to check the charr cultural weapons and they were 9.8k, 35k, and 61k for tier 1/2/3 respectively.

Someone that was in beta and play thief help me with this...

Didnt the thief have an ability that gave him fury/frenzy for a few seconds? I created one for pvp and cant seem to find it now.

There are 2 thief traits for fury but no skills.

Gain fury when using steal and Gain fury when opponents health hits 50%

According to the good folks at Reddit, there is a Norn vendor selling cultural weapons at 21 karma. I think they might be Tier 2 even, but I haven't looked at any of the cultural stuff as of yet. (too many alts just getting to level 13-15 while I figure out which I really want to play). Anyway, supposedly folks are grabbing all kinds of these and using the mystic forge to craft something better etc. (again, something else I know exists but have no idea what to do with it yet or even seen it in game).

I just posted another adventure I had finding a pirate cove. It's over in the Screenshot thread.

ArenaNet definitely made an exciting world to explore.

I thought it was just quickness last time I used it. Maybe they changed it.

Wait, how come I did not know there was a screenshot thread? Doesn't everyone know how much I love screenshots, you should have told me!

I'll be sure to flood that thread over the weekend!

Am I completely missing this, or is there no indicator when friends or guild members log in / out. This is a feature that I always liked in WoW (Yes, I know...I'm sorry). I enjoying seeing when someone hopped on so that we could run something together or just chat.

Am I blind?

Nope. Nor is there any way to change it so that guild chat is listed by account name, rather than character name. Hopefully these are two toggle-able features that are implemented sometime...

Showing account name in chat would be a huge help figuring out who is who.

been that way for the past 3 beta test...

Yep, this has been confusing for me. I also have no common naming system, so I've had guildmates treat me as separate people so far (mostly in terms of on-going discussions, and I log on to an alt to do crafting or something). It's been amusing, at least.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case, you can mouse over names in chat to see guildmates' usernames. Obviously not as easy as having them just shown outright but it's better than nothing.

ranalin wrote:

Then I failed to notice. I've been playing so much with the wiki and the online builders it is hard to keep track of what is actually correct without being in the game.

The wiki still has it as the old skill which is quickness only.

Sorry for the false info.

Have only started 1 characer so far. Just wanted to know if there's communal stash for weapons and armor i find, that i can give to another charcter.

Yes, your bank is accessible from any of the crafting stations and is shared between all your characters.

So I input my name into the spreadsheet and got a guild invite when I logged in last night, Thanks! However i'm still on a different server, which is interesting in that now I am in the GWJ guild but on a different server. I couldn't switch last night as the server was full. But it is interesting that I can be in the guild while on a different server, unfortunately I can't actually chat on the guild channel.

Also on an unrelated note "Rumors of Trouble". One of the Norn story quests. Has anyone finished this thing? Holy crap is it hard.
