Guild Wars 2 Catch All

Big congrats to Blades who crafted her Sunrise last night!

Sorry to whoever tried to group up with me a little while ago. Didn't realize you were a Goodjer till you were running away.

Sweet, wish I had been around. I still have about 225-250g left of stuff to get for my legendary. Not rushing but I'll get there soon enough.

I happened to log on for a bit last night to do some inventory/trading post/mystic forge type stuff and happened to be just in time to see the forging. Congrats Blades!

Did you buy the precursor or get it as a drop? I've been throwing in a lot of stuff in the forge lately in hopes of getting something/anything good. So far the exotics have been mostly worth 1-1.5 gold, with occasional ones being worth slightly more. Nothing worth over 6 gold ever, and a lot of 4 yellow items going in only to get 1 yellow item in return.

Congratulations, Blades!!!!!!

A big thank you to all the goodjers you turned up yesterday for the Centaur chain in Harathi homelands. For the first time since that lone guild rush I did, there were more goodjers than a single group could hold, and it was incredibly satisfying to have all of us banding together. If we started WvW, no one could stop us!!

Wow, that is quite an accomplishment! I'd love to see a picture here of it!

Sorry I confused jumping puzzles Eleima. But glad I was able to help you with reaching the top of the one I did know. Looks to be the simpler of the two on Malchor's Leap- I just watched a video of the other one and it looks insanely complicated. Wow.

Also... anyone else having trouble logging in at the moment?

Thanks for the support with the legendary guys, here's a screenshot of it

Cheers from Blades/Mist/Aveleth :D

It's awesome, congrats. It's even more amazing to see it in action.

Oh my gosh, it's gorgeous!!! O_O Now I want to see it in action!! Seriously, next time you're online, I'm dropping whatever maddening jumping puzzle I'm doing, and I'm going to stalk you. Even if all you're doing is harvesting onions.

In other news, the Scavenger's Chasm puzzle is awful, and whoever designed it should feel awful.
Dailies be damned, I'm going to give it another whack during my lunch break if anyone wants to come see the fireworks...

Addendum: So I finally completed this puzzle, and thank goodness it kept my progress from last night (I'd already collected 9 of the 12 orbs). This is definitely one of the harder jumping puzzles (although I didn't do the Halloween and Wintersday jp's). I'm never going back there, though. Okay, fine, I guess I would go to show people around. Do I want to go back? No. But would I go back if asked? Yes.
Clearly, I'm a masochist! Only one more jp in Cursed Shore, one in the green borderland and one in the Eternal Battlegrounds. Now if only there were a title for this. (yup, doing it all for the greater glory!)

I have that goal myself, Eleima! I finished the ones in Cursed Shore already, though. Only have lower level areas' to go, but I feel so LAZY!!
And I'll be sure to come with you for a JP and show you teh effects on that sword! It doesn't only glow orange, it changes from white to orange, going through blue/violet depending on how you angle your camera

I missed WvW so I started playing again, but I almost wish I hadn't. This week the match-up seems to have brought nothing but ridiculous blobs and skill lag, and groups of P/D thieves that jump on your corpse as though they did something epic by killing you 5v1 while they were essentially permanently invisible. Lately I've been meeting this behaviour more and more, and it just seems to suck the fun out of playing.

I'm curious to see how the changes to server match-ups will affect things - it could freshen things up quite a lot, on the other hand the gaps betweens some tiers are so large that it could be crushingly imbalanced at least some of the time.

Edit: And congrats on the Legendary!

I just did the Canach instance, and finally nabbed the Sclerite Karka backpack (didn't have patience for the jumping puzzle or crab toss, so was glad to get it via this). On the forums people seem to be having problems, but I just took my guardian bunker in and ended up finishing him with retaliation. Something to try if you find the intended way of doing it too awkward.

Congrats on your Sunrise Blades!

I've been MIA due to RL concerns the last couple weeks but hopefully I'll be logging in soon. That new karka back piece looks pretty cool.

Unbreakable harvesting equipment? I am all over that sh*t.

Babakotia, did you party up, or did you do it solo?? Sounds like you did it solo (I'm hoping to did, because chances are I'll have to as well).

Nathanial, did you also get the Molten Lava Mining Pick?? Is the Consortium Sickle like it in the sense that it's character bound??

There are two instances, both short, one for solo and one for group. I did the solo one. The group one looks like the same mechanics, just a longer fight. They do give two separate achievements though.

Okay, looks like I'll have to try and find a group for the other instance then (only have 20min of gaming time after they rolled out the new build last night). Hoping not to have to rely on a PUG, but the clock's ticking on this one...
Can't find any wiki article on the sickle, but I think it'll be like the pick, it'll be character bound...

I feel like a guy who just crossed the Sahara Desert. Now that my journey is over, I can sit in line for several months and wait for a glass of lemonade. In GW2 speak: I have just met the 96% map completion mark and now I wait for WVW. I've been able to sneak my way around enemy territory and grab everything not shrouded in a castle. I've also spent the better part of 2 weeks trying to fight alongside our world on wvw, but the only progress that I encountered was yesterday when we captured a castle with a POI that I didn't have. The nice thing about all of this is now I can partake in some puzzles and fractals.

(should've used this for Baldes' Legendary too)

Serisouly, Laterality, kudos!!!! I'm also at 96%, but the big difference is that I have most of Orr still left to do. And honestly, between my wonky play schedule and the time zone difference, I don't know if I'll ever reach 100%... You'll get WvW done pretty easily, just wait for the servers to rotate so you can grab the other Borderlands (that's what I did) and EB will sort itself out eventually (using the optimistic "wait and see" approach on that one).

Congratulations!!

I did the group instance with a PUG. It only took us about 20 minutes including 3 wipes.

Some hints on the group instance if you're interested:
You fight a golem and you have to beat him up. After a while, he'll get shields. You have to lure him on to a mine to bring his shields down and beat him up some more. Then, he will spawn some healing turrets. You need to destroy the turrets to kill the golem. It worked out best for us to have 1 person just bring all the turrets down when the rest of the group beat on the golem.

Thank you Eleima. I know in the back of my mind that a lot of people are in the same boat, but my small brain just needs to be told Also, thanks for the tip on the rotation, I will keep an eye out. Last night I was just a bit frustrated. I was even tempted to buy 55 dollars worth of gems to transfer to another server and then come back. Right when I was on the Paypal screen I took a step back and let the rage subside.

Hard to say how the coming wvw matchup changes will work out. I have a sense that it will be good for the higher tiers, but it will be very bad for the lower tiers. So for us, because we are terrible and have low population, the matchups are significantly more likely to be bad than good (we should really be in the bottom tier).

As far as our current matchup goes, we just need GoM to move up a tier they have way more population and way better coverage than either DR or us (NSP). Also find that most of the trolls I've seen (epic 5v1 jumoing up and down) have been from GoM as well.

Agreed. I've been playing a lot of WvW the last couple of weeks and GoM is definitely the problem with our current match up. The sheer numbers they can field at all hours is ridiculous. They have held Stonemist in EB almost the entire time. That said, I've still been having a lot of fun. It may be that I am enjoying my new WvW build a lot but, I've also learned to lower my expectations. We are perpetually outmanned, so I just find a decent sized group to run with and concentrate on defending a tower or assisting with whatever short-lived offensive victory we can eek out. We did take the DR keep a few nights ago and a long and tough battle filled with lag. It was still some of the most fun I've had playing GW2.

I can not help but to agree. This will only depress our WvW turnout more. I can not help but to take the post explaining the changes as a kind of grand naivete; because a bunch of techs discovered their data was inaccurate, they decided to throw people together reguardless of if it will improve the game. We are just going to get slapped around some more.

This is your chance for your world to rally together, recruit more people, and try to overthrow a server above you. Like most of you, we love a good underdog story and now you’ll be able to write your own in WvW. At the end of the day, this is going to create new fresh matchups, let you see the tactics from different teams, bring some variety to the Eternal Battlegrounds, and help us to establish a more accurate new World vs. World order.

Does this person seriously think that people that have no one to cover during the NA late night/early morning hours or during work time will somehow prevail against those that can field more doing those times? I think all he cares about are the high ranked servers.

Your server sounds a lot like mine. I assume you're mostly on NSP (NA) ... I'm on FSP (EU), currently in Tier 5 but dropping at the moment. I'd say in recent weeks our active player population has reduced significantly, largely thanks to people getting worn down by extremely stale and unfun match-ups and the general direction WvW seems to be heading in.

I don't get as much play time as I like, but I do a bit of everything - small guild group, zerg, occasional solo roam. But fun fights are increasingly hard to come by, and I seem to spend an disproportionate amount of time looking for them. Roaming I mostly find thieves, either solo or in gank bands, and fighting them just isn't fun, whether you ultimately win or lose. Sure, I could zerg more, but we regularly face blobs outnumbering us 2:1 or 3:1, and the skill lag is horrible.

I was going to play tonight but WvW is unplayable. I'm not kidding, after the patch nothing works. Siege can't be placed, skills don't activate or activate 20 seconds after I queued them. And then the screen just freezes, requiring a restart.

I actually had quite a bit of fun defending NSP's holdings in EB over the weekend. a group of 10-15 defending a tower from a larger horde was the most fun I have had for a while. I did not have any of the technical issues you are having though.

It is fun playing WvW atleast some of the time, but not wining at all eventually makes the whole thing loose its flavor.

Great job on the guild events last night and a special thanks to the people who stuck around to help General get his commendations.

We do have the guild challenges researched but it may be too much of a time commitment to hold them back to back to back after the bounty and guild rush. Does anyone have suggestions and/or preferences as to another time for the Guild Challenges (http://dulfy.net/2013/04/20/gw2-guild-challenge-guild-mission-guide/) to take place?

Do we want to start a new topic with a poll? Here's a free one I found.
