Guild Wars 2 Catch All

Gratz guys! That's awesome

Wish I wasn't stuck at work :/

Doh, read 15h est as 5pm, I'm so horrible at military time. Congrats on the kills folks!

Piece of cake bro.

Anything over Noon (12) subtract by 2 hours and drop the first digit.

Example: 1300 - 2 = 1100 = 1pm
2000 hrs - 2 = 1800 = 8pm

Spent so many years in the military its become second nature to me. I sometimes find myself thinking about afternoon plans and I use military time in my own head.....which is super wierd.

These bounties, I assume they are for max-level players?

If you can get to the map, you can participate. Of the two we got (chosen at random), one was in a level 70-80 zone, the other in a 15-25 zone.

For future hunts, I think we should (if we have enough participants) spread out and find all the possible targets before starting the hunt. We had Teesa located beforehand, but had to search awhile for Tarban. Once he was found, people just linked the nearest waypoint with no context or directions, which didn't help either.

Congrats on the bounties!

It seems that post-patch, some of the open world events are dropping good loot. I did Shatterer, Tequatl and Megadestroyer this evening, and made probably 1.5+ G by selling the rares I got from them.

Yeah, they made the loot tables better, but changed it so each character can only open them once per day (it resets along with the daily achievement). You can still do the events as much as you want, the chest just won't spawn for you after the first time.

That's fine. It's still a good return for the amount of time it takes.

That seems a tax expert way of doing it

How about anything >12 subtract 12?
15-12=3

I agree, our execution was a little confused. When we attempt a tier 2 bounty we will need 3 teams of 5. That should make things easier. Each team has a team leader, and 5 people. Each team scouts 1 bounty and reports to their leader when it's found. Leader reports back in chat/vent when the whole team is ready. Should minimize the signal to noise ratio. Once 3 teams are ready hit the bounty and go.

I was searching Brisbane for the bounty and had gone almost half the path without finding him. Then the guild bounty was started and I was so hoping that he wasn't one of the two we had to do. Of course, he was.

I think there were two waypts linked to the bounty then and I was confused as everyone else which was closest and where to go.

I really doubt if only a single team of 5 people could take down one of those targets.

I think we'd be better off focusing everyone in the guild except 4 people (1 party, basically) hunting and then quickly killing 1 target. While target #1 is being killed, the scout team will be hunting down the next 2 targets -- 2 people per zone, each person running in an opposite direction along the target's path. Then as soon as target #1 is killed, everyone ports over to kill whichever NPC was found first or is closest to a WP; and then to the third target. This model probably won't work for a Tier 3, unless we divide our killing team in half, and have a second scouting party.

Also, I think today's experience really reinforced the need for everyone to have every waypoint unlocked...

Picked up GW2 in the last Amazon sale and started a character. Need a guild invite please. Character name Blackflagg

Do Guild Bounty targets not scale like normal champs? I'm pretty sure the reason the ones we went after had so much HP and hit as hard as they did was because of how many of us there were. If there were just 5 people taking them on, the bounty target should be scaled down from what we faced.

Guilds in GW2 are handled on the account level rather than the character level, so to get an invite an officer needs your username, including the four numbers that follow it. There's more info in the gwj guild thread.

I totally intellectually get that, but when I look at them, I always just see the last number...

Awwww, sucks that I missed it!! Looks like you had a great group going!!

As a relatively low level player I realized that because of this it might be more valuable than I'd previously guessed to just do a run through a few of the zones to try and get some waypoints.

I got to the second location just in time to see the mob get looted. (this isn't sour grapes just a statement on how far I had to run as an example)

I'd help if I could, but I'm on an EU server and by the sounds of it our timezones wouldn't align, anyway. But best of luck guys, this sounds really cool.

But guild invites are valid account-wide and player names are unique. Sent out an invite last night.

So does that mean that any characters I create will automatically be a part of the guild? That's handy. Also: damn, but this game is addictive. I haven't been this impressed with an MMO since I first played WoW. In fact, very few games have gripped me this much in a long time.

Any characters you make will be in the guild, but you must go to the guild window (default 'G') and click on the button to represent the guild in order to see guild chat, earn influence, etc.

Has anyone found one of the named-refugee possessions yet? I've scoured the route from Diessa Plateau to Hoelbrek and haven't found one yet.

Unless the spawns have moved, the cup is in Wayfarer Foothills near the Vendrake's Homestead waypoint (just East of the waypoint) and the toy is in Diessa Plateau on the harpy hill Northeast of the Butcher's Block waypoint.

Awesome, I'll look there. Thanks.

They do move every day, and aren't necessarily the same between servers. The wiki has a list of possible locations.

I got my HoM rank up to 15 and I'd love to get to 20 but I've nearly exhausted my resources in GW and it'd take a lot of gameplay to push much higher. I think I'll focus on GW2 for now.

I'll give you guys a character name to add once I've created a character I'm sure I intend to keep.
