Cable Storage Solutions

So I have a large box full of cables sitting in my home office. Power cables, USB cables, audio cables, cables of all kinds and shapes and gauges. And I'm having a hard time coming up with a good way to categorize and store all the cables in a neat way. I was wondering if the GWJ community had thoughts on this. I tried a search but couldn't find a good existing thread for this. Any help would be great.

tie-wraps, lots of tie-wraps. Coil them up and put them into vague categories, and put them in separate containers. Get some containers which are neat themselves and can be easily tidied, and contain a bit of untidiness.

Found this on lifehacker.

Or depending on your cable size:

(The how-to for that one is told amusingly.)

If you have a storage room, a few of these would work: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/pr...

Those are more for organizing cable runs under a desk than cable storage. I have some.
