So what’s the difference between total spend and old spend? If I’m going with the higher number I’m at close to 4K.
But that’s not too bad considering this is over 9 years and my coworkers/bros in law drop that much on Seahawks season tickets or country club dues every 2-3 years. It also beats dropping $100 a pop at the club on an average Saturday night.
From what I've read googling around, OldSpend is included in TotalSpend, and represents how much you spent before some time in 2015 when something changed. How's that for vague?

Sorry for dirty skimming BK but thank you for the heads up. Now I feel a bit worse.
Don't apologize, I was being a snarky dick by posting that as a quote. Still, why feel worse? The important thing is that you are making Gabe Newell more wealthy.
Hobbies are expensive and PC gaming isn't really that egregious compared to basically every other "hobbyist" pursuit.

Whew, only $1500.
I think SteamDB might do a better job overall though:
Well... my profile was private... have to calculate this later.
EDIT: $5640 in today's prices. Damn.
Mines around $3800. But, given that my Steam account is over 10 years old, that's only around $30/month, which isn't bad for my primary hobby. That's about what I pay for coffee/month, so I'm not worried.
Just FYI, if you're going to check SteamDB, the Steam playtime and gift info privacy settings are somewhat obscured as checkboxes below the main privacy settings for game details and inventory. They're easy to miss on a quick scan of the whole page. Also, it can take Steam some time to reflect any changes you make to your profile, and it can take SteamDB up to an hour to update its cache.

Just a smidgen under $500.guess I need to work on getting over the hump.
I'm curious if sales on the market count as "external funds that have been applied to fund your Steam Wallet".
$2600 for 4600 hours over ten years in one of my primary hobbies; that's pretty darn good.
2,701$ in TotalSpend, 1,600$ in OldSpend.
Well... I barely have any other hobbies, sooooooo. ^^
So, anything that matches the spend to ones you haven't even played yet?
Flash Sales are reportedly coming back to Steam sales
Devs will be able to choose the duration of their flash sale, with the choices being 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours.
woo hoo
I don't understand why people want the chance to miss a sale.
Flash sales tended to have larger discounts than the "normal" sale prices. A game could be on sale for 50% off for the normal sale, but drop to 75% with the flash sale. In recent Steam sales they'd just be 50% off the whole time. That's still a good sale, but it's relatively unimpressive and much easier to resist. I've been able to resist buying anything during the past few Steam sales because none of the games I wanted ever got to the "it's never going to go any lower than that" price that the flash sales used to get to.
I imagine the steeper discounts were better for publishers too. They got highlighted on the site and drove sales.
Selling 100 copies at 75% off is better than only selling 25 at 50% off.
Flash sales were the only thing that kept me coming back day after day. With all discounts known minute 1 of a sale, I just go on, make my gifting plans, and I'm done. They'd get a lot more money out of me with the flash sales.

If they made their mini game fun or worth it for daily give aways I might still be there daily but I don't care about their last few runs. I'd rather grab an occasion sweet deal amongst the regular deals.
Accidentally.
Oh, I like the idea of streaming just to a specific friends list and not “live”

You can already do that. Right click someone's name and then click "Watch Game". They get a prompt if they want to stream to you. Change settings in "Settings -> Broadcasting".
I use it a bunch to watch friends playing a game I'm interested in.
I wish there was an option to show me which Friends already have it set to go. I dislike bothering someone who's never even set theirs up with a request to watch.

oh yeah, I'd actually forgotten about that.
They made an announcement through the Dota blog and the site is running again for the main event of TI. It seems like this is meant more as an expansion of the existing streaming capability of Steam than a full blown Twitch competitor. The stream interface on the site seems really nice but you can't hide the chat so I won't be using it at the moment.
Strong user-filtering was the obvious solution when they announced 'almost anything goes' for their store policy, but they're doing it in such an asshole way. Games (with an emphasis on boobs, and not even nude ones) are held in limbo (that means won't be sold) until they get the features in (I'm assuming strong user-filtering is part of it).

f*ck Valve.

Should we set up a Steam group for Goodjers who are okay with it and have it set up? I have, but no one’s ever asked to watched, though I thought it was more because of time zones.
Edit: went ahead and created it right over here. I didn’t make it public, out of habit, to avoid griefers. We can probably figure some sort of system or some groups with people who just want to watch in people who are up for having others watch.
