I was surprised they went from hard stance to no stance at all. Not a fan. Found out randomly in my news feed. Hope they get the spirit to grow a backbone.
Hard stance? Wait, when has Valve ever taken a hard stance on this?

Mildly tepid take on this to none at all. Better?

They previously took a fairly hard stance on anything they considered a sex game.
Hope they get the spirit to grow a backbone.
I just don't get this reasoning. This is what a backbone looks like. This has risk.
edit: Although I will say their wording doesn't make it sound like it comes from a place of principle.
If you say this is not having a backbone, what does that make Wal-Mart and Gamestop when they refuse to stock AO games? Or when WalMart only sells albums that have offensive lyrics censored? (do they still do that) In my worldview they are chickenshits. They are kowtowing to self-appointed moral guardians that absolutely did not consult me or anyone else when coming up with their perfect world.
I'm sure if they manage to keep that backbone, their filtering mechanisms are going to become much better in the long run.
This is the opposite of having a backbone. They got criticized for having arbitrarily applied "standards" and are throwing a fit by saying "Fine, no standards at all then! You hurt my feelings so now I'm going to let my store go to shit out of spite."

Wow. Amazing. Must be really nice to live in a world in which your existence isn’t questioned or reviled. A world in which you can walk without constant fear for your life or bodily autonomy. A world in which the media you consume doesn’t remind you of that every. single. day.
Steam completely overhauled their chat system, though I think it's still in Beta. You may have to enable Steam Beta-mode to use it.

We can now create irc/slack/Discord-esque permanent channels, and chat is accessible via web interface.
Sweet, do we have GWJ room up yet?
The second link in Yoyoson's post is the GWJ one.
Looks great! Very much like Discord and Slack.
I just tried it, you need to be in the beta, and nothing is telling you that from Steam. Nice touch.
Developer & Publisher pages

Not a lot of Developers/Publishers have added theirs yet. The pages kind of give a sneak peak at the new Steam UI design.
$4,645.71 - $28/mo for the past 14 years
$2,653.54 since 2007.
Ouch. $3,197.13. Maybe I need a new hobby, because that's not even including the three or four PCs I've built for myself in the same time frame.
So unlike other site(s) that show this data, this is after taking into account discounts/sales?

Yes, it should be exactly what you've paid to Steam.
I wonder what the different categories mean.
From what I've read googling around, OldSpend is included in TotalSpend, and represents how much you spent before some time in 2015 when something changed. How's that for vague?
Also note that this is money you have given to Steam. It doesn't include purchases from other online stores activated on Steam.

Truth. This is just the money (external funds) that you've spent at the Steam store, whether it be buying a game via your PayPal/bank account connected to your Steam account or funds added to your Steam wallet, either via Steam card purchases in physical/digital stores or selling digital cards, gems, etc. on the Steam market.
“Only” $1,227 - I feel fine with this...
I’m tempted to spend exactly $110 :D

and Tritchy just blew $100 on an oil change....
$343, and I have over 170 steam games. I think the number would double or triple if I factored in key activations from other sites.

Mine says just over $3k, but yeah, I too buy mostly from third party sellers these days, so my actual total could well be two or three times this number *feels a bit faint*
hoo boy, lets just say Im 'winning'

This checks out.
We sure have come a long way since the days when gamers Female Doggoed endlessly having to install Steam to play HL mods.

We've moved on to complaining about Origin and uPlay.

We've moved on to complaining about Origin, uPlay, and Twitch giving away 100% free games just for clicking a button, because they wouldn’t show up in a Steam library.

Hahahaha yeah
I think SteamDB might do a better job overall though:
The totals all of you posted make me feel much better about my $957.45!
