All those damn krtiz you had on pl_upward. Although I did pop your melon several times. That spikey blonde hair makes the heavy's head hitbox weird. Same with the ushanka.

Viva Ushanka!

Couple more replays...

As you can clearly see I was halfway up the stairs and you were at the very bottom. Stupid source engine, should have been a missed stab.

Woo!

Team Not Much Fun 2 tonight.

Sorry for bagging so quick.

Those interested in it, I installed hat simulator on a spare drive for/If/when Valve does a item for playing on Linux.

How would that work then? We would feed you our password and login?

Yeah. Pretty sure that is what queueball did for everyone that wanted buds.

Probably a balloon Tux or something

Suppose I should load up ubuntu onto my main computer.

If you don't want to partition etc etc, just use Virtual Box by Oracle.

From last night

Anyone got advice for getting the graphics to work? I can get Steam to load just fine, but when I run TF2, it tells me I don't have some OpenGL extension or another. I've found no advice online for getting "better" virtual graphics drivers.

No idea, but assuming you just want it loaded on linux for the pending free hatte, just run TF2 in text mode, that should be good enough.

So color me impressed. I'm getting ~170-200 fps after fixing the video drivers (got up to 9 before that). I'm not sure it looks exactly the same as on Windows, but I can try it out during normal play and see what's up. I think the most off thing is the mouse sensitivity. I'm ready for the free linux hatte.

For those looking to try, this helped https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valve. Also by default ubuntu installed the x86_64 version for me, you'll need to enable the i386 architecture.

Oooh, now I'm gonna have to try. Linux hi5 y'all

Remember when you share your password with whoever to get your Linux item the great and wonderful steamguard option. When they logon you will have to give them the code Valve emails you. If you disable it I think you will have to wait a few days before you can trade again.

I think it's 15 days. A little more than a few.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valve
In short, select the experimental 310 drivers.

So, how did this go with MacOS X back then? Not sure what the pre requisite was to get the earbuds (and never got them )

I can't imagine this promo will end up being anywhere near as valuable as the earbuds were. I mean anyone can install linux on their computer, so the market is just going to be flooded with this item.

So the virtual video driver VirtualBox presents to the guest emulates an Nvidia? Or is it doing a straight passthrough, and I should install the drivers for my video card and not a virtualized video card? (I'm running a Radeon 7850.)

I'm not seeing anything related to virtualization on that page, though maybe I'm missing it.

I think you're vastly overestimating the technical savvy of most gamers >_>

I'll gladly give my password to any GWJers who can log me in on Linux, thx!

Don't forget your alts. I don't have any, but if I did, I wouldn't forget them. If I were you. Or whatever.

Anyway, what I'm saying is LINUX PENGUINS, KILL MANNES, WEAR HATTES

I assumed you had an NVidia card. Not sure how it works with ATI. Sorry...

This, which I assume is way more common today that when the buds came out, is why I assume the new items will not have much value.
