Rolls are deeply unfun.

I laughed out loud.

Me too but it was unpleasant last night to be rolled.

I think Konkers is spelled a little differently though. I'm just saying.

I voted to scramble and I was on the other team. Assuming all of your team would have voted for a scramble, my vote alone would have made it pass. That it failed means some people on your team didn't want a scramble...

If a 2:00 minute gorge roll isn't enough to scramble then there is really no reason to even have the plugin.

I was on rolling team and voted to scramble too, for what it's worth. I'm sure the other GWJers on our team would've voted for scrambling.

I think ragin forced a scramble later, so it's all good.

Yes I did. I like to try and stick them out cause you never know, also they allow me to try new ways of charging in with the caber. Science!

Wasn't the next round competitive?

After the scramble it was competitive.

I don't remember there being a scramble.

There was, I ended up on defense twice.

If the "next round" was RED successfully defending and running the clock out, then no. It took BLU a while to get the first point (I think we got pushed off the point and back to spawn once during that), and I don't think anyone got past the lobby area outside the point after that.

Glad to hear that the scramble helped matters.

I don't remember any part of cp_gorge being competitive and I had no clue there was a scramble after the vote failed. I'm not gonna bring it up again because it doesn't do any good, but I just don't understand why people are so scared of the word "scramble". I don't know if people are afraid of hurting someone else's feelings or just delusional that the sometimes the other team can "turn it around" Maybe there are people here who just love to beat the sh*t out of people and if that's their thing then so be it, but I think most people here like competitive close matches which is why it baffles me even more that "Scramble" is so taboo around here.

There was no scramble on the second Gorge round. The vote was either 12-12 or 11-13; I was the last to vote.

Blue capped the first point after a fight and put a fair amount of pressure on the second. EvilHomer and I had our point B sentries blown up quite a number of times, and there were many ubers. I wasn't surprised that Red won, after that first round, but it was closer than I would have thought. I've played Blue on Gorge where we haven't even taken the first point.

And as if to compensate, the universe put me on the wrong end of the next six maps. [/the tiniest violin]

Edit: There was a forced-scramble on a later map, but not on Gorge.

Edit Edit: It was on Hoodoo.

Gumbie wrote:

Not scared, but still have yet to be part of a scramble that works. I suppose I'd be willing to give it a try now that we don't have to re-start a round, but that has always been a problem for me. Since the scramble never works, it often means a good number of people end up getting rolled three rounds instead of two. If people start voting for an RTV I will go along with that.

Glad I dropped off for Gorge....

I think the hoodoo scramble worked well. I thought the rounds after were very competitive.

I don't know the map names well so you can ignore me. Archangel seems to know the specifics so I defer to him.

Gumbie, sometimes I vote against the scramble because I don't like to give up or because I was playing anything but heavy. I feel like there's a big gap in my contribution to the team if I switch from spy or sniper to heavy (with smaller gaps for other classes). I DO like competitive games and if it is really bad I might vote for one. I do vote for scrambles most of the time if I'm on the winning side.

Yeah that's the old built in Valve scramble and it sucks. Like ukick pointed out we've only used the new one 2-3 times but I've seen nothing but good results so far. It uses hlstatsx:ce ranking to make sure good players are evenly split. When I get home I'll paste the options and how it's setup so people can see how it works under the hood and offer any helpful changes. I've actually been meaning to do that for several days and keep forgetting.

I, for one, welcome our new Scramble Overlords.

Any idea when? I guess I'll be installing TF2 on my computer at school.

A. When on defense: I am a stubborn son of a bitch.
B. When on offense: I like beating the sh*t out of people (it happens so seldom these days).
C. Valve has trained me that scramble means bad things.
D. I don't pay attention all that well.
E. Win, lose, or draw all mannes will still burn.
