We shall try, but tonight is likely the night the Christmas... errr excuse me, the "Winter Holiday" update comes out so you know how much the servers get wonky on update nights.

Your words make sense, but allow me to retort with:

Ah, there's the update notice. http://www.teamfortress.com/mechaupdate/

Fun times achieved

Snowy badwater was rough for my team but honestly the other team was just better, we didn't mount a good offense or something.

I guess the postcard weapons are the nice crate 2012 festive weapons.

Also new comic

I suffered through a roll on snowy, hoping for more fun times, then the server went from 24 to 8 to DeGroot. Alas.

Well, there's your problem.

If I'm healing a spy and he backstabs me why don't I get an assist?

Probably the same reason you don't get points for taking your own teleporter.

Hmm, you're right it looks kinda neat... What what whaaaaat, a new medigun? : O Wonder how it works...

I had this going on on dustbowl. At least one gate would be like this at the beginning of each round. I was sad that I couldn't shoot through them.

Huh. I wondered what you were talking about. It looked normal on my screen.

Yeah the demoman has a serious lack of explosive weapon options to choose from. I am really interested in this one.

So could someone enlighten me on how MvM works, regarding the tickets? What benefit is there to paying money to play on the super-special servers?

TF2 Holiday Pack on the Steam store

Mind = Blown

You get a badge that tracks how many 'tours' you've completed and at the end of each tour you get a bot killer weapon, which is just a normal or strange weapon with a metal heavy head on it. There are various tours and various types of metal heads (silver, gold, blood, rust, carbonado, diamond). Most can be had cheaply through trading if you actually want them.

Gonna to have to join tonight, haven't played in a long time. Also going to be using a 360 controller since, hey, it is better than using a track pad.

$20 for three holiday items? Yeesh Valve. I'll take my chances with crates $2.50 at a time like the idiot I am!

EDIT: $20 is the SALE price! Good God

I'm not looking forward to how much the Adult Swim pack is going to be.

Smerrry Smissmas Everyone!

Yeah, no misinterpreting their intentions with that one:

The Adult Swim store is coming soon to Steam with a boatload of new Adult Swim DLC to buy.

C'mon, marketroids -- you could have phrased that with a bit less unabashed avarice.

Update time.

ooo

edit: updating private

Pants, what HUD is that?

The Vaccinator
Special-Attack: Cycle through resist types.
While healing, provides you and your target with a constant 10% resistant to the selected damage type.
+50% ubercharge rate
-66% overheal build rate
Ubercharge provides 75% resistance to a selected damage type. You are healed for 25% of the matched incoming damage on your heal target.

The Rescue Ranger
Alt-Fire: Use metal to pick up buildings at a long range
Fires a special bolt that can repair buildings
-34% clip size
-50% max primary ammo
Marks self for death on building pickup

The Loose Cannon
Cannonballs have a fuse time of 2 seconds - fuses can be primed to explode earlier by holding down the fire key
Cannonballs push players back on impact
Cannonballs do not explode on impact
-50% damage on contact with surfaces

Lame, why did valve make the crafting materials 3 of the same kind of weapon. I won't likely have these weapons for a while.

The Vaccinator sounds interesting, although a standard uber still sounds like it's better overall.
The Rescue Ranger really don't seem that useful for most situations. Maybe to quickly move a level 3 gun to somewhere hard to get.
The Loose Cannon sounds like a long range poofer.
