Official Team Fortress 2 Game Nights (PC)

That's rough. Good luck Wolfen!

Me, judge and cyranix hit up some MvM again today. We could only scrounge up the three of us so we decided to try our luck with pubbies. We hit the jackpot and knocked off three round handily and I walked away with two hats.

(Also I'm willing to trade the spy hat)

I start work at 3pm....

Man, awesome round of Steel! I was just relentlessly killing

myself

especially when judge was spectating me

EDIT: JUDGING ME

Favorite moment of the night was probably harassing Red's backfield during Badwater -- pyro chases me from their spawn into the shack between CP2/CP3, and yet I time the double-jump over him (in that tiny, tiny room) to emerge unscathed. Moments later, ran towards SG.

Yeah I hate you.

Great games tonight, gents. Spent almost the entirety of tonight without a loadout, but once it got back, I started playing much better. Got a good amount of reflected rockets, so that was fun. Thanks!

Because it's been a while since I posted TF2 texture-corruption shots.

Both the soldier and pyro textures appeared that way regardless of which team the player was actually on (in the top screenshot, you can tell it's a RED soldier from the Kritzkrieg effect on his rocket launcher).

For ukick.

Many, many (many) times over...

Any mannes gonna be on in the 8-9-10PM EST timeslot-ish? It's been awhile and I would like to shoot things.

There is a good chance I will be.

And in the game!

I might be as well. Missed most of last night's fun.

Dang, the server is full of pubbies.

That's a good thing, puts the server up higher on the quickplay chain and makes it easier to get pubbies when we want people to shoot.

Logged on and immediately kicked a third sniper and server spectators.

After some technical difficulties, I really enjoyed MvM with some of you goojers tonight. Cheers!

Abandoning MvM games is being punished now. With longer wait times....will see if that improves things at all.

And an update for TF2 dropped:

Updates to Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Source Engine Changes (TF2, DoD:S, HL2:DM)

Fixed the "disconnect" command regression from the previous update
Fixed tools like vbsp working with new model format
Fixed a con_logfile ConVar exploit

Team Fortress 2

Fixed a common "FindModel" crash for replays
Fixed the Crafty Hair not using styles for the yellow and brown hair
Improved the "Restore" UI for customizing items in backpack
Fixed floating arrows on carried objects
Mann vs. Machine
Added a penalty system to deter players from repeatedly abandoning Mann Up games
Corrected the respawn time for the Mannslaughter mission
Updated MissionCycle behavior. Servers will always cycle to a mission listed in the MissionCycle file.

That's bullsh*t. I'm not going to repeatedly band my head against the wall with the same group of inept 8-year-olds. The easy missions usually aren't that bad but the group I got put in yesterday was god awful. I was the only person to kill anything so when we failed the incredibly easy first wave I quit. A penalty isn't going to change that, it's just going to make me not play anymore.

It's really annoying that over 90% of the people I get paired with are small children. I have to mute everybody that talks because I hate listening to children talk over the in-game voice chat.

Read the website before ranting.

Q: What is "abandoning" a game?
There is a difference between leaving a game and "abandoning" it. It is considered "abandoning" a game if all of the following circumstances are met:

You leave a game while playing a Mann Up game on an official server; and
You have not played through a single wave to completion or failure; and
There are 5 or more players currently connected to the server (including you).

Otherwise, it is safe to disconnect a game without being considered an "abandoner."

iaintgotnopants wrote:

The only times I've left a game that didn't fall under those circumstances is when matchmaking screws up and only three people join. Every other time I would be an "abandoner".

So you play through one wave and quit. There isn't anything horrible about that.

Yeah, that's even close to what I said.

edit: I misread the second condition. I thought it was saying that it would be considered abandoning that game if you left after the first attempted round.

You said you hate children! n_n

In other news, I'm joining TF2 in case anyone wants to try and start the pub or go pub-hopping!

I'm joining if I can ever get past this stupid file validation bug that I get every time I start up TF2 now.

Had to drop to get the kids off to bedtime (I'm Mr. Mom this week). Good times tonight.

Nice to see Psych and Cheeba back on the server after a long hiatus. Hopefully it's not just a one-nighter.
