It's a team vs team game with hats -- albeit simple ones -- and therefore possessing some merit. Inexplicably, however, there are no scatterguns or newspaper-wrapped fish involved.

As a long time Braves fan I am used to them consistently choking in any soft of playoff game. Not looking good right now.

I felt like Erik the Red's personal pincushion last night.

You'd think that at some point I would get it in my head to turn around once in a while to spy check. It was a short game for me last night, but it was good to get back in there again.

I was up early yesterday. So didn't stay too long. EriktheDad was quite on a roll

Don't feel bad, Erik's really good at that...

Thinking about it, I don't think there's any GWJers left who play Spy mainly, are there? Brainz and ukick do it depending on the map but I don't think anyone's commited to the class anymore, wonder why. Also been a LONG time since I've consistently seen a spy top the scoreboard on our pub.

Spy is my 2nd most played class, but I don't like to play it so much on Stan's because I feel like I would be more useful on the team as a demo or heavy. Also, I prefer to play spy on 5pt maps which we don't play a ton of. Since the front line is much more mobile on those maps it is easier to slip behind the enemy. On A/D maps like dustbowl people tend to be clumped up a lot more around the front lines or at choke points and there is always a lot of explosives spam, so it is more of a pain in the ass to get behind people, and it's harder to escape after you've killed a couple people.

I will always cherish the time I got one of my two duel wins against Erik in a spy vs. spy battle.

Let's play 5pt more. I miss that. Same reason as Erik, but for Scout.

5CPs are fun, but can really drag if the teams are evenly matched, also draws (while necessary in these cases) are kind of lame.

I think I should start playing TF2 again, might help me since I'm reworking my TF2 map from a few months ago.

The 7 newest screenshots are of the map as it is now.

There is a lot to still do since I still have most of the cliffs in the starting area to redo as well as the final area to complete. After that I'm going to figure out how to split the map in half at the farm so that it doesn't feel like a constant push and pull.

My main goals have been to shorten the map, create more tunnels and side areas, as well as creating new vertical areas to benefit both teams in one way or another.

I went ahead and started working on it.

My first test to see if it was possible and see what type of work was needed was a success.

As you can see, even without adding anything new the level is quite well lighted. There are about six areas that I suspect will become an issue when I make it darker and will require adding in lights. There is also a rock and a light at the blue base that are also reacting oddly to the light change so that will require some fixing as well. Otherwise, this is turning out easier than I thought.

Edit: At 2:38 AM I had been able to recreate an evening or dusk like look.

At 3:40 AM I had a convincing night version of the map and had started adding in extra lights where needed as well as correcting things like fog color and more.

There are a few lighting anomalies still but I must say, give me another day or two and I might have a night version of Badwater ready for testing on the server.

Also did some research and it looks like the guy who made the night version of 2Fort originally wanted to make night versions of all the Valve maps. From what I could tell he never went past 2Fort.

Looks good Wolfen, I really like some of those lighting effects in the dark. I could see a good night version of pl_badwater becoming popular.

Life is being pretty lousy lately. I followed OG_Slinger to a pub server yesterday evening for some stress relief. I wasn't in a mood to think much, so I set my pyro to TBoon and started chasing fools with the backburner. Good lord, what fun it was, they were so oblivious. Two snipers lined up side by side, scoped? Hello there! Obvious spies being obvious? Good day sir!

An hour of fireworks and a glass of scotch went a long way toward improving my state of mind.
