Damn, never thought on upgrading my wrench speed...makes so much sense.

I didn't know it affected build speed until ukick told me. It was like an entirely new game after that.

Hey someone send me an MvM invite tonight. I've still never played a game.

I also use the Jag to help just that much more. Is there any other better wrench?

I came home today and an idling alt picked up a Big Country, 'Do Rag, and a level 100 Huo Long Heatmaker. I should go buy a lottery ticket or something.

A buddy of mine here in Austin, OtterMatt, is looking to play some MvM. He plays on our pub sometimes, but doesn't post in the forums much. If any of you regular MvMers get a friend request from him, that's why. He's already in the TF2 group and sees people are trying to form up lobbies, but can't respond.

Oh dear lord... I tried to finish the final mission of my tour with a team of pubbies. I know, what was I thinking? Apparently common sense is far from common and why is it that the idiot who plays the worst complains the most about how "you guys" suck?

Let's start with a medic who would only heal the only other guy on the team he knows even if that guy is dead and there are others around him under fire. No, he stands in a corner and waits for his buddy to return to the front no matter how much we complain. Next we have the demo who decided the best weapon loadout was standard grenade launcher, targe, and bottle? So yeah, no stickies. This has win written all over it so far, does it not?

In fairness, I had a good Engy. Moved the gun well as waves progressed. Good dispenser placement when he understood Dr. Useless was pocketing. He was as frustrated with the team as I was. The soldier was OK when he focused on the enemy but he kept trying to rocket jump over the waves to shoot down at them and was hurting himself more than the enemy. Pyro ran degreaser, shotgun, and fireaxe. Engy told him after wave 4 that he should have been using a better flamethrower and a flare gun to at least harrass the snipers picking us apart. Moron changed loadout and then proceded to whine that the game "ripped him off" because all of his upgrades vanished.

So the first wave where we fail there is lots of complaining and idiots blaming other idiots. When we failed again, (how could we not?), 2 players quit. Right. We failed with 6 yeah 4 is really going to work. Two morons had already pressed F4 to carry on as if nothing happened. So I wished them luck, (you'll need it) and left too.

I appreciate you guys so much more now.

Yeah, playing MvM with pubbies takes it to a whole new (and more painful) level.
Makes for good stories though

Playing MvM without sound made me realize just how much I rely on sound when I play.

Sorry for stinking it up guys!

However sound is fixed; hopefully I will be back at my full mediocre force tonight!

Did you guys win? Sorry I had to bail - by the time my no-video woes were resolved and we decided to restart, it was getting kinda late.

Jerk, you took my spot.

Tonight, we kill mannes.

We failed. We got to the last wave of Machine Massacre, but it was BRUTAL. 4 tanks that come out 2 at a time, 3 giant heavy deflectors with 4 medics each, and a bunch of spies tearing us up. I think it is probably the hardest MVM wave.

Disk Deletion is harder, me thinks. Massacre would be #2. Both coaltowns are cake.

Manne, reading everybody's accounts of MVM really kind of makes me not want to try it at all.

It's fun but it's not TF2.

Also, getting a game together bites. Think L4D but way suckier.

Thank Saxton! About time!

Pub 2.0 tonight right? Last time I played on pub night I sat at the server browser wondering why I didn't see anyone playing on Stan's Pub.

I've only played a single game of L4d. It was with EriktheRed and I don't recall who else. I think I accidentally shot my teammates more than I did the zombies. And then I got crippled at the top of a waterfall after they had already gone down below and they had to abandon me to finish the level.

Mon/Fri are generally private nights. We may move to the pub eventually if we don't have enough goodjers on the private.

Massacre was the first one I did Mann Up on, the second night it was out I think. I remember everyone saying "well, it certainly can't get any harder than this...." The next night we took basically that same team to Disk Deletion and had our asses handed to us. Almost four hours before I quit still not done.

These day's, I feel pretty confident playing with anyone who has much experience playing. The number of wipes have gone way down. Every first timer seems to add a couple of wipes to the process as they learn the ropes, but still haven't failed on a mission since that first try at Disk Deletion.

Thanks for the clarification, I've been a bit out of the loop lately with the server/schedule

Well a lot of people have been playing MvM instead of on the private/pub.

Quite the understatement

THE best time to get a team together. Understandable for sure. But I think that MvM will slow down.

Well if there's a Private night and we all agree on it, let's hop on and kill some mannes instead of robots (Private or pub I don't care as long as it's a full server with mostly GWJers)
: )

My months long remodel and move (first owned house!) will finally come to an end Sunday and I can get down to closing the six year experience gap between me and you all.

My first MvM!

Trying to find people to play MvM right now...I added KrazyTaco like the community event said. Guess I'll have to pub it

aaaaaand people quit mid-game.

Good times on the private server again

Could I get an invite to the group?
