Official Team Fortress 2 Game Nights (PC)

Also, evil and I would like to give caber jousting another go some night when we are filling up the server. We decided it would be even awesomer if we could get a bunch of demomen on each side to go all together. Imagine, 24 demomen flying through the air, exploding.

I still need the sicky-jump melee kill achievement. This sounds perfect for that.

Ahhh. But, I'm not supposed to play video games anymore. Damn you.

? You're not going the way of the Judge on us are you?

I'll need a caber, and I promise I'll smack you right in the face with it mid-flight.

I like that map. It's got moxie.

We're always happy to have new people join us! It can be a bit intimidating at first, but when in doubt, just follow the score leader on your team for a while and do what he/she does.

Ooh! I do like Corporation. Let's make it a thing.

Let's not and say we did.

On that note, here is a better suggestion

ctf_haarp (attack and defend ctf map, you take the intel to the cap point, updated in January, same guy that made ctf_landfall)

That's when we last played it!

Corporation has got to be hilariously broken with all the new weapons now...

Sorry, I meant new to the site. I know how to play TF2

That is kinda the reason I want to play it again. I remember there being some huge bottleneck issues, but I wonder if it will be better or worse with the new weapons.

All this hypothesizing is silly. Let's find out!

Come test the new private server tonight. No sourcemod or anything. Bring hattes.

I'm taking a video game break for March (and possibly April) so that I can finish my dissertation.

It was supposed to start on Tuesday but somebody didn't drop everything to get the playoffs started quickly enough so I had to cheat.

My name is SodaGremlin and I approve of this plan!

I love the idea of a attack with the flag type map! I always thought TF2 needed that!

I'll bring my Hitachi for pre-ordering Homefront. Is that acceptable?

Aww man. You guys are all in the password protected server.

Oh, so community server guidelines? I think most of it is on the MOTD screen when you join. Other than that, it mostly comes down to the usual "don't be a jerk" policy. Some other guidelines:

* don't give out the password to the private server
* don't team-stack
* don't sticky-bomb the enemy spawn doors (other forms of spawn camping are usually okay)
* don't be the third sniper or spy if your team is losing
* don't spectate when the server is full
* don't give "advice" to Mex on how he can be a better demoman
* do tell Mex he needs to get a microphone
* do randomly duck/crouch if Nuean or Tempest is sniping on the other team
* do taunt if you ever manage to dominate ukick, because it happens so infrequently

Explicit/derogatory names and sprays are very strongly discouraged. Also, we'll make fun of you if you nominate Hydro as a map choice.

New server seems to work a lot better.

Best moment of the evening for me: me (as a spy) killing Brainz (as a spy)! I will cherish that memory forever.

I would prefer a little more nuance to this rule. I've gotten banned from servers for "spawn camping" for destroying teleporter exits and killing a couple guys on my retreat. No one bitches when a heavy/medic pair camps outside of spawn killing tons of people.

I think the server may have been even worse, personally. Saw a ton of lag and rubber-banding, especially when we got up to (and over) 24. I think it was worst on Goldrush.

Yeah I do.

Yeah I do.

Sorry, let me fix that.

So which is it? Is it better or worse for most people?

Pretty much the same for me (both are fine most of the time). We could just alternate and collect more data...

Needs more time being full to tell if its a better server.

Performance was a little better on my end.
