Official Team Fortress 2 Game Nights (PC)

I still laugh every time I throw a jar of pee on someone. You would think it would get old, but it doesn't.

Agreed, I still get a kick out of throwing a jar of piss at someone. When he is covered, he is humiliated and critted on.

Not sure if anyone has told you yet but, unless all-talk is on, you can only talk to other dead people while waiting to respawn. :)

This explains a lot. I've been really working on communicating lately. Problem is nobody can hear me because I'm always dead.

As for the freezing issue, I guess for the time being I'll try Phishposer's technique of periodically hitting the talk key to clear things out. As much as I'd like to run the game through bootcamp, I don't think I can justify the cost of buying a copy of Windows to my wife just so I can play TF2.

And Brainz, maybe it wasn't you that jumped out the window, I can't recall for sure. I was jumping around a lot trying to keep everybody healed. It was one of the goodjers playing a heavy, though. Also, I didn't mean to sound like I felt like you were yelling at me, I just felt bad that you were out there in the middle of everything with no uber to protect you. In the end I got out and popped it anyways, so no real harm done.

Ppl still pay for windows?

I loled while reading this.

And we all know how much Ukick enjoys 'milking' dudes.

Is he talking about the game?

Just a random thought, but is there anyway the version of sourcemod on the servers could have a problem with one of the newer patches aka lag spikes and rubberbanding?

The Jarate is meant to go with the Bushwacka, if you're a rifle sniper and are close enough to land a jarate shot, you're just that awesome...

This is what you meant to say right?

That's a possibility, and something that's I've been thinking about myself. The version of SM we use is a beta snapshot that I grabbed out of desperation during the last major TF2 content update, and (last I checked) it's actually a little bit ahead of the current stable version of SM. There's been an update to Metamod since then as well. Maybe I can do a little experimenting on the private server with SM/MM... probably not a good idea to mess with the pub in the middle of the tourney.

EDIT: That said, I still think that the ongoing issues we have are more likely to be with our provider than sourcemod

I did see a thread on the steam forums mention sourcemod as a possible cause of the recent lag that a lot of people have been seeing.

EDIT 2: I checked the private, and the auto-updater is working... we are running the most current stable versions of both sourcemod and metamod.

Though my Fexy medic occasionally had trouble keeping up, he was an excellent companion for Fast Heavy and his Speedy Gloves of Quickness.

On a related note: I REALLY need to remember to take screenshots.

I make too many noob mistakes when I play... need to fix that somehow.

You and me both brother. I'm awful. I always feel bad when I go medic and die to just about everything.

I would just like to point out to the newer (to gwj at least) guys that a lot of players around these parts aim for the medics first. I know I do. So don't feel too bad if you die often as a medic, it's just that there's a big target on you.

I recommend lots of movement for medics to die less, but you probably already know that. The harder thing to do is to know when to let go of your guy. Be prepared to see him run to his valiant death while doing nothing to help.

I guess random crits can break up a stalemate, but at this point Valve has added so many item that add crits, I don't think it's needed anymore.

It seems to me what usually breaks up stalemates is a well timed uber and sap. It definitely adds a degree of randomness to the game. And it's fun to get a random crit, but usually I'm on the receiving end of the randomness. Maybe, Valve should reward bad players with the crits if the goal is to balance the game out and break up stalemates.

Good games tonight. Noticed Homer was pubbing it up late this evening. Thought I'd join for some fun.

Here is some evidence that playing with you guys makes better players.

Medic is a great way to be helpful and learn the flow of the game, but be prepared to run away. You are a high priority target. When in doubt, run.

That server was much more fun after you joined. You did a great job as medic. I suggest you go 3rd sniper/spy for the tournament (at least when playing against Alt+F4). I'm pretty sure our team would have been stuck in spawn for the most of the map without us. Before you came on all I could think about was my contempt for the pubbies. After you came on most of my thoughts were, "take that, pubbie!" There was one time where I felt bad for them, though. We rolled them pretty hard. Then, I remembered they were pubbies and they deserved it.

For some reason, whenever I see your name I think of Zap Branigan saying, "I christen the, Titanis."

Hehe. That reminds me of earlier in the week when Dimmer and I met up for some lunch time pubbie killing. We switched up to a heavy/medic combo, and things just started to get unfair. It was delightful. Especially killing the one pubbie demo who kept charging at me with the targe and axe. Poor guy never even got a swing in.

The best part of that was that he absolutely refused to learn his lesson. He must have charged us in the defenders-right tunnel on Dustbowl 2 a dozen or more times.

At that point, it's not about the lesson learned, he was doing it for pride. He wanted to get you at any cost... so he should have learned from that mistake.

There was a really good sniper on the pub late last night. ego herpderp? Damn, I'm certain that guy/girl must have put in hundreds of hours practicing as a sniper. I've never seen someone pull the trigger so quickly. I was able to kill that person three times, twice as a sniper, once as a spy, but I think I died 6-7 times via headshot.

I must seek gunsniping counseling, lest Grubber's Gambit and Grubber's Folly lose their significance.

This guy mgib was playing on the pub the other day, he was pretty good, even thought he might be cheating but then he switched to soldier and started ripping people up, cool dude:

Yeah, I remember him. He was a good shot.

May I get an invite to the Steam group?

Thanks

People who can snipe like that make me sad that I have such poor fine motor skills in comparison. It's amazing to watch him waver in a tiny circle around someone's head before lining up the shot at the perfect moment.

It was nice to see him miss a few shots, remind us he is human.
