DayZ - ArmaII zombie mod

For the record, I highly doubt Justified is hacking in his own gear, despite his perfect load out the other night when I killed him. Yesterday he was on and had managed to fall into the water and broke his legs and was stuck, needed help re-spawning himself where if he was hacking gear why not give yourself a morphine injector.

Because the young believe that they're invincible?

What was the verdict on the "dayz_auot_updater.exe" mallicious file thing?
PC gamer reported something about a misinformed dev over reacted.

Was this a threat?
I've been getting suspicious activity notices from Apple, and Battle.net re my old WOW account.

I've changed all of my passwords.
Just wondering where all of this may be coming from.
Having to run DayZ Commander as administrator has always bugged me.

What do I need to know?

Ok that made me LOL.

I noticed Justified seems to play a lot. I hopped on a few hours ago to check my tents, and then I checked them again just now and he's still online. So it's possible he earned his stuff legitimately.

Also, I just noticed I'm two Arma beta patches behind. Has anyone noticed any DayZ gameplay differences with the new Arma 2 beta?

It looks like the latest Arma 2 beta is 96751, however the latest version that you can update to using DayZ Commander is 96584.

I also see servers listed in DayZ Commander running weird versions of Arma 2 that aren't available such at 96585. I'm not sure if running the latest Arma 2 beta matters that much, but I am trying to figure out which version is least likely to send me to the debug plains.

Maybe it'll be simplest to accept whatever updates DayZ Commander is pushing downstream.

Dang, had some ups and downs tonight on Lingor. Not enough folks playing Vigilant so I jumped onto a Dallas server that had around 20 or so. I had been on the server earlier and had found a camp with a Bizon, then found a M24 without rounds in a military camp along with camo and all the necessary tools. Came across a fairly poorly equipped corpse other than a big coyote pack, slowly making my way north and come aross two guys working on the shoreline across a water inlet. Get read to line up a shot with the M24 and then see them jump into the water and start swimming directly towards me. I pull out the Bizon and wait at the top of a hill and try and get the jump on them, only to be distracted by a helo that came flying up not from behind me. When I turned back around they were already at the top of my little hill, split around the rock I had been trying to use for cover and nailed me. Got a few rounds into one of the guys but he didn't die.

Respawned at the closest place to my corpse ran back over and got all my gear except the M24 and Bizon. Found the compact AK and then proceeded north, along the way got in a gun fight with another survivor and came out victorious. Traded out my compact AK for the full meal deal and headed up to the military camp near Old Dutch Castle. Along the way I came across a cleared out crash site and then found another crashed flyable helo but nothing around it. Cleared out the first couple barracks then noticed what I think was a M16 Acog in the last hut but ended up getting knocked out by a lucky zombie strike and eaten.

Respawned again way down south and started for my corpse pretty much running straight to it other than a couple detours. I get there, and get my gear back, the M16 was no where to be found so I head into San Arulco. While I'm checking out buildings in the city I hear multiple big explosions back to the south over a couple hills. Head that direction and find another flyable helo down, I head over near it to see if the inventory is accessible and then have the thing blow up again with me standing right next to it. Game over, night, night.

I've had more than enough. I'ma stick to better actual games than murder simulators and i got plenty to do with D3, LoL and coming up Borderlands 2.

It sounds like the Vigiliant Addiction admins have been working on banning scripters, but I am not sure they are able to detect the wallhacks. Have you tried asking them about it?

Good shot of a lot or all the of the small pop there being hte same folks doing wall and script...i'll give it another shot for a few this week and see. But league of legends is really really tieing me up with lots of fun atm:)

also apparently arma 2 and battleye have updated again. I just logged in after update and battleye updated and then battleye sent me a notice saying "hey, we just banned over 2000 cheaters, no false positives!"

.

We had some fun with AS50s tonight, took out a vehicle or 2 and around 5 players at southern airfield on VigilantAddiction lingor.

I got killed on login again.
I went to a zero population server. Logged in, there was a player listed.
I figured someone logged in at the same time as me, and it just didn't refresh into DZC.
Killed on login, debug plains, respawn with no starting gear.
I logged all of the way out and back in hoping to fix it. On logout, I noticed that there was still no server population in DZC. On the way back in, still a player listed on the server's screen.
I know I should have logged into a different server instead.

Is this a hacker thing, or a couple of coincident bugs?

Just had the same thing happen to me. I logged in, death message, debug. Logged back into another server with no gear or pack but still wearing the camo skin.
I have had a similar situation when after getting the debug kill I log into a different server, spawn on the coast but with all my stuff.
Personally I'd say it's bugs rather than hacks.

Tried Lingor.
I like being able to enter buildings, but much of the same experience.
Probably because I loose patience and get careless after slogging through the woods for twenty minutes.

I can't seem to get past the mid quality weapons stage. Seems like as soon as I get well equipped enough to start thinking about going after snipers, I end up getting killed.

Got picked off just as I passed the top floor level of the castle in San Arulco. I presume the guy was sniping over the town, and got me as my head cleared the floor.

Lingor seems like the hacker, teenager playground now. Every server I was on had people using voice in the main channel, and dirt-bags sh*t talking in the main chat.
I never got any of that on Chernarus.

I think I'm done with DayZ for a while.

I had a blast on a 27/50 Lingor server. Pretty darn crowded for my tastes, but gave it a shot.

It was a fresh start for me there, so started with nothing. I made it to a cluster of 3 of those "bunk shacks", and started looting. M4A1 with 3 mags . Made it to the 2nd building, couple more general-purpose items and... what's this? Through the door at the other end of the shack I see a survivor's body maybe 80m away and consider checking him for loot. I see he's only got the starter-pack and figure he probably doesn't have much worth the risk, but while I'm looking that way, I see a survivor sprinting in my general direction. "Sorry bud, but this loot be mine." I put a few rounds into him and he goes down. I didn't see the "Player was killed" message so I start to take aim at him just as he's starting to get up again, 1 more shot and he's dead. As I get close to the exit to line up to make a run to the next hut: I'm taking fire! I back deeper into the hut, bandage my gushing wounds and get my M4 ready just as the "bandit" steps into the doorway. We trade some lead. I'm down, but I die with a smile as I get the satisfaction of seeing him die before my whole world goes black.

After I respawn, I'm fairly close to, what looks like, a small military outpost at the top of a hill, overlooking a small town. I used a couple of the town's homes as cover (and looking for anything useful) as I make my way to the outpost. Sneak my way into the compound and am rewarded with an MP5 and a couple mags. I had to log out there, though.

I was not finding that loot.
I read a chat line that said "I've raided every military drop in Lingor, now what?"
I thought, "like, you mean, since you started playing, or just now?" Made me think hacker.
I was in the race track tower (which is creative use of models) and some guy came right up behind me. Never saw him on the way in, but he was just standing there full upright.
I can't imagine how he came in so immediately behind me, as soon as I hit the top floor without me hearing something. He would have had to be right on my heels all the way up.

I haven't seen that in Chernarus for about a week, so I'm grateful to Lingor for drawing a lot of them off.

I could help you re-gear on Chenarus if you want help with that. Shouldn't take too long with a chopper at our disposal.

Don't have a chopper on Lingor yet, but I want to make that my next project, ideally on one of Vilayer mini-hives.

New blog post about how development of the standalone is going.

I took a bit at the end of the day today. Spawned in Calamar.
Already have and M16A4, GPS, Mac, knife, Map, Two tents.... It's like shopping.
It's an end of season blowout on Alice packs and hatchets.

How did you get a PBX up there?

hannibals wrote:

I found it there, empty of gas. I assumed someone had hacked it in.

That seems logical.

By the way, is anyone near Drassen in the SW corner of Lingor? I managed to break my leg while looking for car parts and am kilometers from the nearest hospital.

Edit: Nevermind, I found some morphine at the fire station through a stroke of luck! Phew.

I thought Tents were fixed?

I planted a new tent two days ago, filled it with kit, 100% definitely saved it, then yesterday I went back and it was completely empty.

I highly doubt it was raided and emptied, as I had my Ural Truck nearby (a HUGE BLUE BEACON), which couldn't be missed, and that was still fine, and also still full of the gear it was carrying...

Sad times.

On a side note, why does my truck have to be BLUE! I need to find some green paint..

Depending on where you found it, there is a boat showing up on the DayZdb map, and there's even a comment of "Don't ask me how a boat got here."

How can we tell if a Lingor server is on a private hive (I mean besides the ones tagged private hive)?

Occasionally I log into a lingor server and it prompts me to choose male or female for a new toon; however, I can still find my real one on another server, or the last server I was on.

How do I sort it out so that I can have the every server kind of setup like Chernarus.

Every lingor server should have it's own private hive. Part of the nature of the beast. Unless some individual has managed to hook several together to a hive of their own.

I have yet to find one that doesn't have it's own individual hive...which is awesome...no ghosting or server hop shopping. And territory is more meaningful.

Several of us are now playing on the password protected private Lingor hive by servers.vigilantaddiction.com

Easy to apply for access..super easy...but definitely controls access at the same time. It's only a couple days into a newly wiped and now password protected status so pretty cool.

I have an UAZ and 1 tent now setup as of this morning. UAZ has fully repaired fuel tank and is full of fuel but needs all other parts to fix low rated repair status parts.

Will give locs on vent later to those who are signed up on that server.

Had a pretty fruitful night of solo work, without even hitting the prison or NW airfield. At one point in the night I was down to 3k blood before and had my food meter blinking for quite sometime before I found a can of food. I then slowly ate can after can until I was back up to 10k, eventually found a boar to top me off at 12k.

Worked my way from the Research Center on the Northwest island down to San Arulco in a very wound about way searching for a pack bigger then the starter, camo and a map. Found all but the camo and then made my way up to Dutch Castle planning to hit the military barracks there for another weapon other than the AKM. Crested the top of the hill and in the court yard of the castle I find a helo, which needed main rotor, engine parts and gas. I also spot a UAZ parked in the corner behind the castle wall, run over to it and it is in perfect condition, and has 3/4 of tank gas to boot.

Before taking off in the UAZ I head up the castle tower to check for more food as I still hadn't gotten all the way up to max. While at the top I hear the engine of another vehicle and soon a tractor pulls up and parks. The other survivor jumps out and runs over to the Helo, sits in it for a few minutes and then pops out and runs back to his tractor. I can't get an angle to shoot down with the mini wall running around the edge of the tower and he is running around to close to the base. He just sits in the tractor for a couple minutes so I decide to head down to see If I can catch him napping at the wheel. I get down and he starts to move but thankfully he just positions the tractor next to a wall to hide it and then runs across to the military camp on the adjacent hill. I move in to a better ambush position and then sit and wait for his return, and return he did. I greeted him with 27 rounds of AKM on full auto and take him down, loot the body and pick up a M-16 ACOG and magazines and a toolbox.

I stash the M-16 in the UAZ and jump in to my new wheels. I head north while checking the offline map trying to find a good spot to stash my new treasure. Get up near the prison and get off in to the weeds trying to find a good spot to park and run across a tent. I pop out run over and find just a few magazines, 5 of them FAL, and at the bottom I find NVGs All the loot was loaded to the UAZ and I continue to look for a good spot to call it a night. While crusing around the country side I came across a crashed helo and picked up a Bizon to cap the night off.

I highly doubt the helo will be there tomorrow night, but I intend to check and try to get it operational if possible. If both our UAZ's survive the night Fuzz we can use mine to run around and collect parts for yours and stock pile helo parts as well.

Nice. My evening went well. After struggling to get into DayZ at all >:( "You cannot play/edit this mission because it needs files that were deleted.blahblah" (trying to get in through DayZCommander), and then getting "You were kicked from the server" message right at log-in when just going through my Lingor.bat file. After, what felt like, 2hrs or updating/reinstalling the mods (I don't think any of this helped), I was finally able to get back in via the my Lingor.bat (re-editting the command-line seems to have been the only "fix").

I found a GPS in a house. It seems that if you don't already have a map, the GPS has one built-in. I did find a map shortly after though. I too found a crashed helo in a (in my mind) pretty risky position near the top of a fairly high hill... very exposed. I made my way to it as stealthily as possible. First side: nothing. Far side (the more exposed side) had only an FN FAL (no ammo) and a few "junk ammo" (smoke grenades), as far as weapons go, but as I was crawling away I noticed paper-wrapped package tied with string. A present? For me? Aww, you shouldn't have . I was only a little disappointed to find out that it was just the cammo, and not the ghille.

So all-in-all, not bad. My 1st ever cammo (on Lingor, and NEVER had a ghille), GPS, and entrenching tool.

I highly doubt the helo will be there tomorrow night, but I intend to check and try to get it operational if possible. If both our UAZ's survive the night Fuzz we can use mine to run around and collect parts for yours and stock pile helo parts as well.

If you get the chopper flying, don't park it on the NW island in the middle of nowhere. I believe it's a debug zone and vehicles or tents parked there will be erased.

Also, there is a bug that transforms vehicles into other vehicles. On multiple occasions after a server restart, we've returned to our helicopter only to find a tractor in it's place. Not sure if this is fixed in patch 2.6.
