The Secret World - Show us your character!

One cool thing about the Secret World is how customisable your character is. Removing stats from the aesthetic of your character was one of the best choices they made in my opinion. And I know some of you are dying to show off, but perhaps don't want to clutter the main thread... so post up a screenshot of your character here!

I'll start the ball rolling, here's my character, who's looking a lot like Switch from the Matrix (which may have been intentional after I realised the resemblance):

Here's tans, trying to bring some much needed professionalism to the dress code.

It took awhile to set up this picture.

Nice pose ruhk.

I haven't really played with emotes much in this, do they work in the usual "/verb" fashion?

Edit: As an aside, that's pretty much the exact outfit I was wearing before I took the red pill and went all white, right down to the red turtleneck.

I actually just picked up the red turtleneck last night, up until then I was alternating between a shirt/tie with a trenchcoat and the pre-order shirt with the red punk blazer.

Shopping!

Sera "Waite" Asenath? Oh great, now I'm going to be worried about finding a thing on my doorstep...

Isn't it weird how as soon as what our characters are visibly wearing no longer affects our stats we become concerned about what they look like?

I know this is bad but I did always care what my character looked like

Ya, I always cared about what my character looked like. There were just a lot of times I had to put up with goofy looking pieces because the stats were good.

LOTRO has a wardrobe system that lets you equip items cosmetically, regardless of class restrictions.

Yeah, LOTRO's been making a *pile* of cash off of some very well designed and good looking clothing and gear. You can "wear" anything without equipping it, and you can keep it cosmetically even after you get rid of the original.

Which is a really positive way for cash shops to work. I have no idea why the emphasis has to be on unlocking features.

Yeah, that is one lesson MMO's could have learned from Second Life much sooner.

EQ2 has the same thing. A slot for actual armor and a slot for dressing up.

If I recall correctly, even Anarchy Online, so many years ago, had such a system. Or at least it allowed for easy switch between armour and social clothing.

Here is Cassandra getting a bit flirty during one of the new missions...

Didn't realize in-game how dark this would turn out, but here is my character at the end of the free-weekend. Sporting a "practical yet professional" look as a paranormal investigator. Best look I came up with using the London merchants, it looks like all the really interesting stuff is unlocked.

This thread needs more action, finally unlocked the Paladin outfit! This has got to be one of my top 5 screenshots of all time, I love it.

Nice timing!

That thing is actually working for me. So it wasn't too hard to time actually, plus that makes the internal narrative of the screenshot more badass, heh!

Waite's tooled up.

That is awesome.

Neonai's latest acquisition! I have a couple of new characters, but they're not screenshot worthy just yet. I need to go shopping I think...

My new character, Kara "Capricieux" Crowley. She seems to always be scowling.

I took a screenie in Steam. Can't figure out how to share it here...

If you're looking at the image in steam, you need to click on the URL so you're at the 'steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles' address. If you click the image then, it should show a URL along the lines of 'cloud-2.steampowered' with other jargon around it, rather than the 'steamcommunity.com' URL which won't work here on GWJ (and possibly other places, I haven't really tried).

Hit the image button when you post here, plug in the URL, profit.

There ya go! Thanks Redwing!
