I'm curious, has a Catch-All thread ever made it into the Goodjer Commandments?

It has now.

(And you're welcome.)

Oh hell, of all the things to be remembered for ...

I want this game, but if you buy it for yourself, your ponycorn will Go Bad. I don't want to go through life with an improperly positioned ponycorn.

1:1 exchange for another Goodjer wanting in on the action. Limited time offer.

GAH I've been pony-gifted! I went all out lurker mode on the site for like a year now to avoid this kind of thing AND XEKNOS STILL FOUND ME. XD

Wish me luck guys, I'm going in... *clicks play*

<3 <3 <3 this thread. With sparkles 'n sh*t.

Lil Codger that is awesome... Patient zero approves!

I like the obscurity of the Steam Group link too. We wouldn't want to attract any weirdos to this site now would we

Brilliant, LilCodger. I believe this is how 50 shades of grey was started. Keep running with this, your chance to cash in is just around the corner.

Aries, you gloriously evil bastard, you...

Now I have to play it!

[edit]And I'm passing on the horsey love to another unsuspecting goodjer too! MWAHAHAHAHA

Somehow, this magically appeared in my Steam list, and i have no memory of buying it, or being gifted. Truly a Christmas miracle.

Sadly that AAR has actually gotten me a teensy bit tempted to try the game out.

There's just something about a well-written AAR that will sell me on almost any game. I'm a sucker for a good story, even if it was one created with only the flimsiest of references to the game in question.

And I've perpetrated a few copies of the game myself, so I am probably doomed at this point.

Same here. It's what got me into Dwarf Fortress, Crusader Kings 2, Day Z, and many others I've since forgotten.

Also, while we may joke about the game (and it's hilarious), I do have to say that there's actually a decently crafted children's rpg in there!

I'm speechless.

I... I might have logged in to Steam for the first time in months just to make sure no one has gifted this to me. Or maybe to make sure they have.

I'm not sure whether to be happy, or disappointed, by the result.

It's been interesting to see the reaction to this game. I wonder how many copies have resulted from this group.

GWJ Sway was kind enough to gift this to me. I think I better pay it forward...

edit: And done.

edit edit: I think this game will be only title I have that it's actually appropriate that it gets put in the category of "pile of shame".

Somewhere, a developer of this game is seeing a sudden uptick in their royalties, and they are thinking, "Clearly, there is a market for this, we need to make more of these games." Thus will begin a run on developing a wide variety of ponycorn games, which will take over grunty space-marine shooters as the dominant genre in entertainment. The glut will lead to an inevitable decline in quality as the market is flooded, leading to an E.T.-on-the-2600-style market crash that will completely and utterly destroy electronic gaming. The masses, their entertainment gone, will become sullen and violent and shortly, somebody will blow something up and we will all die.

I hope you people are happy.

I would love to know if Valve tracks any purchasing anomalies like this and give that feedback to the developers to help guide future development/marketing. I can only imagine the number of raised eyebrows resulting from this kerfluffle.

No! You've uncovered my diabolical plan!

Can you rename horses after GWJers? It could be like the great X-Com threads, except with ponycorns.

This would make breeding awkward... and hilarious! And thus, I'm all for it.

My only motivation to play this game is to show the ponies how much I hate them through making them fail the strength test over and over again.

Has anyone successfully killed a pony yet?

*edit* Can't, just stays at zero health

Can't end up any wierder than the Dwarf Fortress stuff did.

Just for posterity (and for reflection, in years to come when we try and figure out why we have this stinking awesome game in our libraries)

A simple enough error, but one I was called out on...

Elycion, non of this magic would have happened if you'd just 'declined'.

IMAGE(http://members.iinet.net.au/~monkey.boy/GWJ/SotMP2.jpg)

palvonica enabled it's birth. (with the most coincidentally relevant sig in history)

biginjapan saw the clouds, and new a storm was coming.

The rest, as they say, is history.

[a brief history of SotMC]

As I was in the process of reading this post, I received a pop-up notification in the corner of my screen: "M0nkeyboy has sent you a gift". I did not need to actually view the gift to know what it was. Thanks, Simon. Or damn you. I'm not sure which.

Also, I vote that the preceding post as well as all of LilCodger's be added to the OP.

Well now QuintinStone can brush ponies along with Yellek! Best $1.25 I ever spent.

So we need to have someone contact the developer with a link to this thread.

Now we sit, and wait...

You know, I wasn't sure, but I am now. Very much so -- thank you!

If civilization is going down due to my sh*tty SotMC fiction, it really was doomed anyway. At least it can go down with sparkles.

But not long, because we are an impatient lot.

So let it be written:

I thought we couldn't name our ponies...

Inserts "mission accomplished" banner here (possibly with a ponycorn photobomb).
