Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

An ARMA package with Day Z

Pretty much the only thing that I actually really want at the moment. Kind of regret not pulling the trigger on ARMA 2 last year, I was this close to getting it.

That's stupid, Activision-Blizzard and Ubisoft told me EVERYONE has an internet connection. So you must be lying.

I am looking for a Krater sale to push me over the line (though its sad really since the game is only 15 bucks)

maybe a substantial Risen 2 sale or Confrontation

Warlock,Max Payne 3, and the line would also get some thought if the sales were attractive enough.

unfortunately most of the stuff i am interested in is too new to really get great sales.

I'm hoping Street Fighter IV AE is $10 or less. Missed the sale on Amazon last weekend.

Got the wish list updated today to keep myself reminded of all the stuff I should buy, despite the fact that I probably won't have time for months to really put into it and what little time I do have is going into DayZ. Yeah, this is going to go great.

Oh yeah, I'm hoping Skyrim finally gets crazy cheap. Though I've gone so long without playing it, I'm considering waiting until there's a crazy deal on the eventual bundle with all the DLC.

Who has $0? No one, that's who!

I've got two copies of the free to play Super Monday Night Combat in my inventory. First come first serve.

Anybody?

(Wonder if there's a way to delete useless stuff?)

Since we're giving away stuff already, I took a look in my inventory yesterday. If anyone (ie. non-Coffee Gridners) wants them I have the following available:

Half-Life 2
The Ship
Super Meat Boy - Claimed!
Cogs

Send me a PM to claim them. Thanks!

Does anybody remember how long the summer sale typically lasts? I'll be on vacation without internet from 06/30 to 07/08...

I'm new to the random Steam gift giving around here.

1) Is it possible to Steam gift things anonymously?
2) What's the general gifting etiquette around here? Do I throw a list up in a threat and do a first come first serve PM? Do I troll wishlists until I find a match and then send it away? Do I just do my own thing because I'm a free 'merican?

Games note: Is Krater fun?

I think it was 10 days last year.

"Take this game, or I will KILL YOU!"

That or "two weeks".

EDIT: Nope, you're right. It was 10 days last year. Winter sale is usually about two weeks.

Just to enable, those are two of my favorite games from last year.

Nothing to it really, Last time i gifted a bunch I just bought stuff and then asked if anyone wanted it in the thread. A few times i would see someone post they wanted something and gift it to them. Once i gave a gift to someone from their wishlist but I found there are just too many wishlists to keep tabs on so I use the thread instead.

Generally I think most people click through the cheap games and see on the store page which of their friends have them in their wish-list.

Easiest if you already have many people in your friends list.

I don't believe it's possible to do it anonymously.

Another reason I like the thread is it gets more people involved than just the people I already have on my friends list. It feels more open. You just need to be on the lookout for coffee grinders.

Alt Steam account to buy the games you want to gift.

I always keep my wishlist updated. It's at some absurd number like 70, though a few of those games are actually games I have on disc or from somewhere else and I want them on Steam. I know. Stupid.

Interesting, Dungeon Defenders was my least favorite game of the last 12 months. Played two levels as the mage, played another one as the warrior, yawned and never fired it up again. I like both tower defense games and action RPGs, but DD seemed to do neither very well.
Maybe it's a lot better when playing it co-op, but as a single player experience, there isn't much to see there.

I think mine is hovering around 100, although it's mostly for having an accessible list of the smaller titles I'd like to play some day and don't want them to fall through the cracks...

I thought about that but I was hoping for a more elegant solution. Can you gift games that have been gifted to you? My plan would be to gift all my stuff to one person who I trusted to dole them out.

I subscribe to the system where a top tier good deed is one where I don't know who is receiving the thing, and that person doesn't know who gave it to them. Although if I'm the only one doing this in such a complicated fashion it won't be a secret when a GWJer sends another GWJer a game with the note "not from me, but another GWJer".

Maybe I should just get off the high horse and give sh*t away huh?

It was most definitely designed for co-op, and, while I played it both on PC and 360, I preferred the 360 version because I could sit on the couch with my kids and we could play it together. We had a glorious time. I did play a lot single-player, but that's after I was already hooked by the co-op aspects of it.

How low is Arkham City going to go, and will it be the GOTY version? Will I still be able to get the stupid box art?

Starting to think those who say the sale wont happen this week are right. I havent seen any leaks yet on stuff Steam has thrown into games to go with the sale. Usually that breaks a week before the sale, this time I dont see any of that.

Considering a lot of folks think its going to start tommorow I would have thought that steam update would have hit by now.

Just give sh*t away.
