Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

Good morning - about to head to work, but before I did I just wanted to thank DocJoe for his gift of Age of Empires III. I started playing RTS on that franchise, and look forward to seeing how it has grown ( or not )

Good morning GWJers. Time for another boring day of work interrupted by moments of glee from this thread.

And who was it who had a wife/fiancee who liked puzzle-type games? Does she have Puzzle Agent yet?

I unearthed the answer. It's Dethroned's wife, CTBebop. And she now has a copy of Puzzle Agent.

Thanks in advance Katy! I told my wife to chat it up with some of you but she's still reluctant. Also, she should start gaming tonight. She only had the trackpad on her laptop so I got her a wireless mouse to use. Match 3 games are usually played on my computer rather than hers but due to this sale I'm having a really hard time giving up my PC (haha)

Yeesh, finally just got through MOST of the posts I missed out on yesterday. This cold/cough/bubonic plague is keeping me out of being updated at all the Magic Crystals being thrown around here After taking a look at today's daily/flash sales, I *should* be safe. Maybe.

Probably not.

I came soooooo close to sending her Magic Crystals, but then I decided to be nice..lol

The Counselor is the devil.

Look out, next guy.

Has anyone else noticed the game Krater?

It looks ... sweet

yeah, it was up to vote for one of the daily deals, but lost (i think to sanctum). What little is left in my budget will hopefully be going towards Krater.

How are the expansions for Company of Heroes? I have the original CoH but it's non steam so I would have to get the base game as well. Is it mostly more of the same?

It was up for the community choice a few days ago but lost

I feel like an old person who doesn't get the internet... It took me forever to figure out what you guys meant when you typed "ftfy"... Not sure if proud or ashamed.

Don't worry. I think I figured it out yesterday, lol.

I need more adventure games in my life (or to finish off the stuff I already have, like the Blackstone and Runaway stuff), but Steam's Adventure category is hilariously full of not-adventure games. The third item? Spec Ops: The Line, followed by Lego Batman 2 and Rune Classic.

Yeah that vote was how I heard about it in the first place but it's been tempting me ever since. Maybe it will be on a daily sale so I'll wait

Anybody here played it?

ImNickson, thank you so very much! Torchlight, how did you know?

It was kinda on your Wish List.;)

True, but I was moved you looked.

If you're going to buy it, just make sure your system is... ahem... "adequate".

I've never had any formal complaints about my systems "performance".

A giggle on occasion, but never a complaint.

Cobble, thank you for NOT sending her a copy.

Funny though, I added it to my wishlist last night as I wanted to see how quickly I would get a copy. LESS THAN AN HOUR it took. Thank you Roo for my fun little social experiment. I honestly am going to give the game a try to see if I can even pull off one achievement.

Also, thank you Maq for Dogfighter. Turns out a lot of my friends own this so looking forward to some fun in the sky!

Like, I went to Home Depot and they only had 1 drill. It was marked down 80% but not sure about all stores. YMMV

EDIT: Holy cow, double tanhaussered

JillSammich wrote:

Don't worry, I'm the same way. Probably shouldn't admit it, but I also had to look up "ftfy". I've also had to look up YMMV and a few others, too

EDIT: Well, look at that...None of us are alone in our lack of Internet knowledge!

Curious, where do I find Minerva's Den for Bioshock 2 PC? Was it a built-in update to the Steam version? because I don't see it in the store anywhere.

Unfortunately, I believe you need to do it through Games for Windows Live. It's totally compatible with the Steam version, but you can't buy it on Steam.

This. You can pick up the Protector Trials while you're there for a little diversion.

Are you a perl programmer? Because the only reason I know that one is the old regex article.

I interpret this two different ways depending on the context

either your enjoyment of the thing discussed may vary OR your ability to find said deal may vary cause it could be sold out everywhere

Does anybody use YMMV for the first interpretation?

The only reason *I* know it is because I have the ability to double click a word, right click it, and then click 'search google so I may be enlightened'.

Hey, that's exactly why I know it! Love that feature.
