League of Legends Game Nights/Season 2 League

Yes indeed. Thanks for doing this Complex!

Nonsense! I demand more apologies! Complimentary vouchers to Burrito Hut! A public shaming! Half price off my next purchase of rubber nipples!

Looks like Complex's videos from yesterday are up. I am laughing hysterically at the background noise in the commentary I did. My roommate was watching Kill Bill I think.

I put a link to LoL Recorder replays in the OP.

Where are you finding this?

Yeah they were in a playlist under your youtube account.

The video shoutcasting we (read: fedora and complex and other peopple) are doing is awesome! I'm definitely all for filming ourselves and doing crazy stuff, while talking about. I think it's very valuable for our veteran players to analyze how some of our less experienced guys are playing, so they understand WHY they lost the lane and what they can do to avoid losing it tha specific way again.

Although I've only played 2 games on 2 seperate nights, and went 1-1 both times. I am against this currently forming pattern.

Which pattern? You playing so few games or losing half the games you have played?

I personally really enjoyed the game where you and nimcosi were in lane against each other.

Both patterns are bad!

If you're saying the shen v shen game I didn't enjoy it that much, mostly because I played a very sub par shen... Also, F ignite.

I think I asked this last year but does anyone know of any mobile apps (or websites) that let you plot out builds? Or skill points? The MobaFire guides are great to read through but I kind of want to tweak my early / mid game plan.

I've used a few on Android and, IMO, the best is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...

It's super easy to use, you can save your fav loadouts, and it's the only one I've found that gives you spell damage amounts based on the items/runes/masteries you've chosen. Great for seeing exactly how much mana impacts Ryze's DPS, for example.

Yeah that was surprising both in the outcome and difference of play styles. That game with dual shens and teleports made that game awesome.

Huh, where was he finding that? Video 1 was unlisted till just now, and video 2 went up public some time this morning while i was asleep.

All of them are public now and I am listing the videos:
Game 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqg01...
Game 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69F5J...
Game 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L3JY...

Oh, he might of found them cause of the playlist. I made a playlist (I think the links I included should show it) for the GWJ Custom games.

EDIT changed the 3rd video to the updated intro version.

Bah! Can't make it tonight. Stupid school.

Thanks for posting the replays, I enjoyed watching one of the matches. How much of a baptism of fire is it to jump from bot games to 5v5 with real folks?

We have people do that all the time. Merphle and NsMike till he baled like a wuss (love ya man) are both like that to my knowledge. I think we had one person who only had 6 normal wins, though i think he said he played dominion alot.

... can i answer you that without scaring you away?

=)

It's night and day. Though in all fairness, the bots are a lot better now, there's no substitute for human strats. Fear not, we tend to lane new people against new people, so I can promise you that you'll have fun and learn a lot.

Fresh meat...

I mean, uh, come join the fray! We're a friendly bunch

Ok, new video will go up tomorrow morning. I am rendering it now and going to bed, tomorrow morning before I go to work I will start the upload and possibly leave a link for it on here pointing to it's page when it is finished uploading and processing. Thanks goes out to pivotWizard for spectating with me and to the players who played a very interesting game.

The fire! It burns!!!

I've been jumping back and forth between 5v5 GWJ custom matches, 5v5 GWJ vs pubbies, and just random 5v5 AI matches... and I find myself learning new things in each mode, for different reasons.

Great games tonight, guys! And sorry for dragging down all 3 of the teams I played on.

Hope I didn't butcher it too bad. Between my tired monotonous voice and limited knowledge of the game I have my doubts
Was lots of fun though!

Show off!
Mine is being uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRAkD...

I wanted to try to join you but it said the game was full when I tried to spectate T_T

Solo commentary from tonight, should be up in a couple hours.

edit: done

Fedora gets to cast my worst game by far.

Hopefully someone is casting the first game I was involved with last night and not the second. :] Thanks guys for doing this, regardless. Cool for folks to be able to see their name in lights.

edit: Woot, DC you're the man.

Watching it now.
Complex, you have Morgana backward. She is an AP carry that can sort of be a decent support, not a support that can be a decent AP carry.

Also I think the reason you keep having those borders is because you are rendering in non-widescreen aspect ratio. Some programs will have both aspect ratio as well as resolution options and if you have a widescreen resolution but a non-widescreen aspect ratio, you get the squished look there.

Also, also, oily you were right in the game when you said baron healed right as you smitted. He just gets like 400 hp suddenly o__o

Well, I'm glad I didn't have a stroke or something but super weird. Maybe he healed because most of the people in his threat ranged took off/were killed?

My resolution is wide screen but a different ratio. 1080 is wider than 1050. I am wsxga+ not hd 1080. The ratios are 8:5 for me compared to 16:9.

keep at it! Also keep in mind that it's more than just a skill divide. You don't have any runes and you have few masteries compared to the level 30s. It's not a big deal, but it's definitely noticeable and can lead to you losing lane even if you play well. what you need to do to counter that is play super passive early game and focus on CS. Runes/masteries dont mean a whole bunch past 10-15 minutes.

just make sure to learn from every single game. I have hundreds of games under my belt and I still learn stuff all the time.

also really commit to practicing on last-hitting. It's something that takes a long time to master. and it's not just CS totals; you have to be able to get a lot of CS while still being available for teamfights and ganks. This means you have to get to a point where you can last hit without even paying full attention to it. Practice practice practice!

I'm not sure who I played with last week but the guys on my team (Squee? Complex? Nimcosi?) that recommended Sunfire Cape for Leona, OMG you were right!!! I've been skipping my usual plan of going for either Frozen Heart / Force of Nature based on my opponents and rushing for Sunfire and noticed that I'm much more resilient. Thanks!

There is a point where the health, would outweigh the extra armor early game that you would get from FH. Sunfire to me is much better early/mid game, but if a game is long enough, I will often replace it in very late game because it doesn't hold up super well.

Thanks. I figured as much that I'm inherently gimped just due to my level -- besides, of course, my inexperience with the game. I do learn as much as I can, and I definitely appreciate everyone's recommendations to me while playing (buy this, go here, farm top, OMG DON'T DO THAT, etc). I've also started reading up some of the strategy build guides on mobafire.com... I find those to be pretty enlightening, not so much on the "what", but more on the "why".
