NCAA12 GWJ2STAR - Season 3 -WEEK 3 - Deadline 6/30

I managed to sneak in my game last night. I need to stop playing these games so late, because I was down 24-14 going into the 4th. However, 28 points in the final quarter put me over the top, with CSU beating Bowling Green 42-24. (It could have been a 31 point 4th, but I shanked an easy FG.) My buddy Momo Thomas (CB) got a fumble recovery for a TD...I point that out just because I love his name.

My punter averaged 49 yards a punt, which is pretty typical for him, yet he's not on the Guy Award watchlist. Disappointing.

BGSU couldn't stop the screen pass at all...I think I averaged 35 yards per screen, though I only ran about 3 of them. Oh, and if you watch the video, you'll see my FB put a great cut on a 2-deep zone and catch a small little dump that turns into a 38 yard TD in which he outran everyone. He's good...need to find a way to use him more.

Hey firesloth...when do you want the herd to stampede your rams?

I'm actually quite scared. Plus, I have to play you in this league and Willhouse in the other this week. It's gonna' be brutal.

Well, I offered up tomorrow night for Willhouse in the other league. Maybe we could do Wednesday? There's a chance I could pull off tonight if either of you are around, but I think it's less than 50% chance.

How do you feel about late starts, say 10:30 or 11 pm? (I suppose I could do an early morning, like 6 am, but that just sounds wrong...)

wed at 11 is doable

ouch...more so for you having to play BC...they are a tough team...Marshall is tough but beatable...If Rice can do it, so can CSU...unless, Cato has another night like he did against UAB...then its kinda rough...

He won't because it's tougher to exploit human players

Not this one...

I will play my game Thursday night. I wanted to play it last night, but something came up.

Uh huh...now whose world is it?

Touche sir, touche

Rice escapes with a 24-22 win over Miami U. Nothing stands out on our end other than special teams giving up 2 KO Returns for touchdowns.

wow...that was an interesting game. It was certainly a battle of defenses. I cant believe your D scored twice on me...err...

I got your message from live...the same thing happened to me for the last 3 plays of the first half...I couldnt pick any plays...same with the extra point.

I got SO MAD when I had two fumbles on back to back plays...exp when the second one was recovered by your lb in the endzone. Still...I honestly couldnt believe I converted the first fake FG....To be honest, I was going to kneel the ball again to finish out the game but Xeknos (he's my roommate) told me to go for it...so I did that second fake...I didnt want to be a dick though, so I ran the receiver out of bounds after the catch...Cato had a decent game...in looking back, he rushed for 3 tds...another Cam Newton? Maybe...he is only a sophomore and pretty good. Anyway....Good game...you had a comeback going but just didnt have enough time to get it done.

Marshall gets revenge for last season, 42-28

Anyway....Good game...you had a comeback going but just didnt have enough time to get it done.

I don't know about that. If I'd stopped that fake FG, which I suspected was coming, I'd have had a shot. But, I didn't. That was frustrating, since I called a defense that should have had some ability to stop it, and there was a deep safety back there...he was just horribly late. However, there was definitely not a sense I could pull it out with more time.

Your LBs were so good all game at just avoiding my blockers on running plays. My FB is usually pretty good, but he just whiffed time and again on your LBs. Not even the ones you were controlling...on all of them!

To be honest, I was going to kneel the ball again to finish out the game but Xeknos (he's my roommate) told me to go for it...so I did that second fake...I didnt want to be a dick though, so I ran the receiver out of bounds after the catch.

Well, that definitely saved you that fate. You'd never want to be a dick like Xeknos.

Temple (7-3) survives Eastern Michigan (1-8), on the road, in the snow, in OT 30-24. OT started with Eastern Michigan's QB pitching the ball directly to LB Marcus Green. Then, on 3rd and 3, Matt Brown took the handoff on a draw, and ran 18 yards for the touchdown, his 2nd of the game. Temple was down for most of the game, giving up an 84 yard TD run on the first play of the game. Trailing 21-10 late in the 3rd quarter and on defense, Temple needed a big play, and Dan Van Norton made it, snagging a pass for a 68 yard pick-6. With under 2 minutes to play, Temple got the ball back, and Mike Girardi was flawless, going 4 for 4 on the drive, before Mike Brown ran an 8 yard counter for a TD with :16 to play. But Eastern Michigan got the ball back with 3 timeouts, and threw a pass down to the Temple 30 with 5 seconds to play. Buck Adams calmly nailed the 48 yard FG, sending the teams to OT.

And we are ready to roll

Wow. Exciting game!!

I've officially lost every HvH game I've played in this league this season...depressing. We need to hurry through the offseason so I can redeem myself in season 3!!

With that in mind, let me make a proposal: since it's unlikely we'll get in a season 4 before NCAA 13, can we all agree to sim the 5 weeks of recruiting during the offseason? We could all turn on our 'autopilots' and just allow Leroy to blow through those so we can get to playing more games.

Any thoughts?

I like it, we will also do that in the BCS league

Western beats Toledo but it was harder then it should have been as I lost both if my running backs in the second quarter.

Good call firesloth. It shall be done. League is rolling

CMU handles EMU. Simmed the 4th quarter.

CSU bests Buffalo. The beginning of the game was a bit rough, and Buffalo went up 7-0 in about the first two minutes. After that it was all CSU.

I won by a fair margin but still kinda peeved on 16 of their points....it started when they punted the ball out on the 1yd line...I ran a play for a TD but it was called back for a hold...since the hold happened inside the 5 yard line, it was an automatic safety. Then they have a HB (pettigrew) who used the same play twice...each time he broke 3 tackles and ran for a td...it was stupid...oh well...final is marshall 74, BG 43

League ready to roll. Rice got manhandled 55-14 by UCLA. Couldn't stop the pass and hiving up 4 ints and a KO return didn't help.

Hopping on to roll it.

When would you like to beat me senseless, Kush?

Going to play tonight vs Bonney in the BCS league, I probably won't be able to play until Thursday night around 10pm. How does that sound?

I think I am doing trivia on Thursday night. Can I let you know thursday?

No problem, we'll think of something. I am going to the Phillies game Friday, maybe this weekend some time?
