Warframe

I don't spend plat on frames. I just farm them. Sometimes I spend plat on cosmetics. Because it's just too cool not to
Just realized what the vault did again. I do take it that for now we can still farm it, or is it gone for a while?

On February 16, Rhino Prime, Boltor Prime and Ankyros Prime will enter the Prime Vault, with all of their crafting parts abolished from The Void. If you already wield the power of these Primes, they will remain in your inventory.

I still need the Ankyros Prime. So will do void runs lots this coming weekend. If anyone needs a hand, let me know

The infusion of plat is nice and I find myself doing some light budget planning for fear of spending it carelessly. I realize the cardinal rule is to not spend plat on frames but my patience has its limits. The plus of this is that I have an okay roster of frames to use now and will be busy maxing them out for the next little while. The current role call is: Excalibur, Volt, Nyx and Trinity Prime.

Not sure about the Vault thing. Seems like they remove the ability to even farm the frame (remove the component drop) but I could be wrong.

Makes sense. Time can be an issue for sure, so it's a good option to have.

Yeah, no option at all to farm it.

The Vault, when prime items are put into the vault, you will not be able to farm them anymore. You will only be able to get access to them from people who have leftover parts in trades.

The vault has only been open once so far, which was in December, where for one month, you could purchase a vault pack that had Frost Prime, Latron Prime, Reaper Prime, Prime Syandana, and prime Titan harvest thingie for $60. And for that one month, you could have farmed for the prime frame/weapons. And for anyone that was curious how long Frost was out of rotation, it was about 10 months, then in rotation during that 1 month of vault access and now not accessible again.

http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Prime...

And we do not know at the moment how often there will be a vault access pack. Once there is a second vault access pack, we can make some guesses on how often prime parts in the vault will return.

Hey all,

Just wondering how the Clan research and upgrades purchase stuff works. We all invest a bunch of resources to unlock the ability to buy the item... this is the Research portion of the exercise? And once the item has been researched, we can buy at a discounted price or with different resources (if the item is also available in the marketplace)?

Eldon of Azure got me into his clan (thanks!). Now I am a kid in the candy store and want to know what I can help research and what I can get my greedy little mitts on. A bit overwhelmed here!

Once a clan item is fully researched, any member of the clan can purchase the Blueprint for a credit cost. Then with the Blueprint, you need whatever resources are needed to build that BP in your ship as any other BP you get in the game.

Awesome, thanks Cat.

So is it just me or has the drop rate for both mods and fusion cores gone way, way down?

I haven't noticed anything, but I haven't been playing as hardcore as I used to.... and I am on the PC platform....

What sort of missions have you been playing? The last time I did an excavation or any of the endless sorties that I've done appear to be about what I would be expecting. Excavation on pluto is currently the place to farm for fusion cores, because there is a chance to get 5 of them as a reward every drill that is not a multiple of 4, which are key drops.

Gosh I wish my memory for these things was better. I'm still Rank 4 so I'm just hopping into whatever Alert and Infestation missions I can get into from the drop-down navigation menu. Now that you mention, those early Excavation missions were great for these kind of drops. Unfortunately Phobos is the farthest I've gotten with the stage unlocks.

Speaking of drops though, it might have been Monday or Tuesday when I somehow lucked into a Dread blueprint. I had never used a bow before so but I had credits and mats to spare so I just slapped that into the foundry. Pulled it out and dropped into a low-level extermination before bedtime and... wow... bows are pretty darn fun to use.

I don't know how viable they will be in the thick of chaos (which is why I prefer auto or fast semi-auto weapons) but the bows in this game not only look amazing they also feel great to use. Definitely taken by surprise.

Anyone in a great standing with New Loki Syndicate? I really would like to have the Sancti Tigris Will trade of course for something else nice.

If only I was on PC, I'm terribly close to the mastery rank requirements for the Sancti Tigris but, alas, I'm on PS4 .

The Dread Bow is a total badass bow once you find out that you can give it 112% Crit Chance and 5.0x Crit Damage (that's where mine is sitting anyway ) plus the always useful ability of piercing multiple enemies (sometimes even through closed doors) with each shot. I only really use it for capture missions (as I can drop the target usually in one arrow) and corpus hijack missions when I'm just standing on the moving platform and can line up long distance shots. I also had to use it on the the flying Corpus Boss (can't remember it's name) and Vey Hek(?) (of Earth) as the Tonkor was poorly suited for each of their assassinations.

My go-to weapons of choice:
Tonkor
Soma Prime
Amprex
Kohm
Dread
-
Synoid Gammacor
Sonicor
Kulstar
Pyrana
Akzani
-
Jat Kittag
Boltace
Dual Zoren
Galatine
Silva & Aegis

Edit: My favourite, always useful frames:
Frost Prime
Nova Prime
Nekros
Mirage
Hydroid
Valkyr (more for Nightmare missions though)

Anything that has really long, narrow corridors, works wonders with the bow when enemies are killed. Try it on that one choke point door on a void defense a few times, you'll end up killing a dozen enemies per shot a times since they have to go single file though that door.

But anything that rag dolls like crazy I always find fun in WF.

And you probably want to up the fire rate on any bow you use, bows only get their full damage when fully drawn if you know you'll have a lot of enemies coming out you; Or wait until you try the Red Veil's primary bow. it's not as strong as some other bows, but that 0.3 seconds or so draw on it is addicting.

And wow, talk about quite a different list of preference weapons there Eldon_of_Azure. No Quanta, no Vaykor Marlok or throwing knives, no Trinity, no Redeamer or whips.... goes to show how crazy variety of weapons/frames can exist in the game.

I've been using the Karak and the small clip size really bums me out. I'm not even sure I'll be able to fix it even after I max out that common mod for ammo clip capacity.

I probably want to build Galatine for my next melee, Kohm so I add a shotty to my arsenal and secondaries... well I haven't gotten excited for many secondaries but that Sonicor looks amazing. I bet the crafting requirements are a bit out of my reach though.

I'm almost done levelling Dual Zorens. Eager to try out the Dual Kamas this weekend but my go-to lately has been Orthos. Love flailing that thing around!

Sunday already! I had forgotten to ask if anyone wanted to do Void missions this weekend?

Welp, gave it another try, and it has improved over the last 3 or 4 years. Like the movement, can't recall any other game that lets me sprint down a corridor ADSing or bouncing off the walls. Running into a room, tossing a shock blast off, then spraying fire from an assault rifle at the survivors while I sprint into range to leap into melee, much more interesting than the other 'action' MMOs out there.

And there is more and more story being produced. Second Dream supposed to be really good. Still have to start that one myself.

Evilseed and I are just working our way through that now. It's pretty interesting. Hoping we can finish that up tonight. We've been running void missions off and on the past week or so as well with Zoltaire and UMOarsman joining us off and on. Come join our clan, we need an interior decorator.

Trying to scan one of those drones...if they ever show up. Doing one mission after another on planet Uranus.

More like they've been carrying me through void missions, but yes, come join us.

The rank 5 test has been tripping me up, so much so I've resorted to capturing video of the problem hacks to study. I usually do fine on these during missions. Using the thumb sticks to highlight plates can be fiddly too.

Not sure how known this game is : Dark Sector (steam link). Also made by DE and Warframe is the spiritual successor (wiki). I haven't played it yet, but when it is on sale, I will get it for sure

Dark Sector thrusts players into the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative sent on a dangerous mission into Lasria, an Eastern European city on the brink of ruin that hides a deadly Cold War secret. In the midst of this mission, Hayden is attacked by an unknown enemy and infected by the Technocyte

Oh yeah, I remember this game was lambasted by critics everywhere but it seems to have a bit of a cult status as an underrated game, memorable for its sweet glaive mechanics.

Actually, the story is a bit more complicated than that if I recall everything correctly...

Apparently, when they first pitched Dark Sector, it is somewhat what Warframe is today, but the publisher saw 1st person shooter story games being the big thing to mimic and DE was made to cut it down to single player shooter narrative. Heck, when it was pitched to Sony, they thought it looked cool, but how dropping the Sci-Fi and make it during the Civil War instead.... O_O I think this is the link to the story that I remember reading some time ago now about the origins of Warframe. It's an interesting read http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/cl...

Since we have a few people playing this on the PC now, I went ahead and made a group on Curse called "GWJ Warframe". Up to now, I've just been using Steam chat, but I figure we may as well start using this, as it's easier for people to just jump into a chat channel if they want to group up. If you want an invite, let me know.

I'd like to have an invite

The GWJ clan on Warframe, how is that going?
