They didn’t actually call it “vomit cannon”... did they? Interesting nickname, regardless.

I think they did call it that on one of the Devstream previews, just jokingly, in the same way as at one time his 4 was 'Meatball Mode'. Anyway the preview vid is out now, judge for yourself

I did see some of the dev-build stuff... pretty funny seeing the arms and legs poking out.

i wonder if he'll be able to eat annoying enemies like nox's.

That Grendel looks awesome!

I don’t see why not... Hydroid can (tentacles, or pool), Khora can (strangledome, or her 2), Nyx can (chaos or MC), Titania can (lantern), etc.

Well my new kavat is named Vlad. I like that he can heal you if you go down.

I gotta gather some more Kavat genetics and breed a new one before i get a vamp. Not eure what to name it but I'm leanint toward pumpkin (old cat of mine that would bite me)
Got Grendel cooking currently and i think I'm gonna find myself my first kuva lich today!
Thoughts on new melee anyone? Overall I'm enjoying it, ALOT of weapons feel more viable now. Nikana prime is a beast now, basically a mini gram prime. Sad that condition overload is berfes but it's still quite powerful on the right build.

The only thing that worries me on kuva litch is the rng in rng. Hope to get the relic, hope a relic drops the mid you need. I have a tear of just having to grind for that one mod for so long it ruins the fun of the system.

I THINK that the kuva kill mods are persistant even after you kill a lich with them. They said that in the devstream a couple weeks ago, though of course that could have changed without mentioning. So in theory once you have 3 of each you never need to grind them again. Plus they are tradeable so quadruples can exchanged for what you need.

If I get dups I guess I will post here so we can trade.

No. 3 uses and then you need more.

There’s a lot there but it goes over the mechanics.

Wow, already got Grendel, huh.... I’ve heard the grind for him is very not fun. I’ve only heard from vets tho, so that could just be their “I’m used to being ridiculously OP!” talking.

So far, I’ve only finished off the alerts. I’ve been doing more Arbitrations than I have ever done, before - mostly just slamming around as Nekros. My Cyath Zaw (+Riven) still feels good. My Catchmoon is definitely shorter range, but still hits like a truck - I might actually have to diversify

I think a lot of melee weapons are more viable, there are still a few weapons that are kinda super powered by comparison.
The Grendel grind was.... interesting, it wasn't especially HARD per se, but having to play missions without any mods on anything active was an odd experience. even though it only took an hour to get everything, it felt far longer to me. I think the biggest problem is that there is no notification that that's the limitation.
Grendel is a neat frame, a little odd in how he works but I can see having some fun with him in midlevel content.

I am just enjoying how defeated so many people seem to feel with the new relics. Normally relic grind feels ok but this just feels forced. If you did not need to run them to play the new mode I think most people would be happier with the new bonus relics.

Grendel feels fun but probably won't make it into my mains.

Honestly the new relics don't seem that bad, kuva floods reset every hour so you can build up a nice reserve and just run relics once you have your murmers.
Running murmers on the other hand... Gods that's time consuming.

The feeling I got was:

Rng to get relics
Rng in which relic you get
Rng that litch may steal relics
Rng on mods you get
Rng on kuva weapon

Add in murmur grind and I get why some people eant to avoid the litch system.

If you just added on another way to get the mods like kuva enemies had a chance to drop the mods I feel like it would soften the rng grind.

When everyone in your public group is low key annoyed it makes it less fun to play and I can't disagree with them or their points because I feel it too. I have not even made a litch yet.

I'm struggling to see the pay off in either fun or rewards from the Kuva Liche system. Admittedly I haven't played it yet but it looks like just a veneer over existing content that I had already grown disinterested in.

Perhaps they had intended something more but felt compelled to push some content out, but this is really underwhelming to me as is.

I’m doing all my “word grinding” before I start my first lich. Maybe DE’ll have toned down the number of murmurs needed, by the time I have all of them.

Like a lot of systems they introduce, I take a look at some of it early on and just can't be bothered. They'll tweak or add something else later that makes the new systems palatable, or it will go the way of hover boards.

Likewise Grendel seems too silly to want. I may be in Warframe hibernation until the next Big update.

How does that work? I haven't made a lich yet and I'm wondering whether I can just gradually accumulate the stuff needed to deal with one without having to have one active.

On the plus side, overall I like the melee changes so far and I'm going to make myself a Vasca Kavat (as soon as the gene imprint things finish crafting). So there are decent things in the update it's just that, again, if you're a bit tired of the existing gameplay the new things aren't really new.

But yeah, I was hoping the liches would be tough and enduring rather than just grindy and time consuming (and disposable once you have the right requiem mods). Considering the feedback at present seems fairly negative I'm hoping they'll make changes to make it better.

Doing the Kuva Siphons/Flood (now in the “!” tab) will get you the weird new relics. At the bottom of the void mission tab is the Kuva relic-cracking mission (I’ve only ever seen one).

As long as you aren’t running “normal” missions (not relic-cracks, invasions, nightmares, sorties, arbitrations, Kuva flood/siphon, or Grineer 20+) you won’t ever run into the “larvaaling” - so you won’t trigger their “ascension”. I’ve been doing almost nothing but Kuva flood/siphon, and relic-cracking.

If you want to trigger the larvaaling - do any normal Grineer mission of at least level 20, and it should appear. Once killed, it will become your lich, and it’s influence will spread, and it will steal portions of your mission rewards - I’ve heard of them stealing relics, and even glyphs.

Which frame you’ve used to initiate your lich determines what element will be built into their weapon.

For Radiation use (any of): Ash, Equinox, Garuda, Loki, Mirage, Nyx, Octavia

For Toxin: Atlas, Ivara, Khora, Nekros, Nidus, Oberon, Saryn

For Electricity: Banshee, Excalibur, Limbo, Nova, Valkyr, Volt

For (bonus) Impact: Baruuk, Gauss, Grendel, Rhino, Wukong, Zephyr

For Heat: Chroma (doesn’t matter what element), Ember, Vauban, Wisp

For Cold: Frost, Gara, Hildryn, Revenant, Titania, Trinity

For Magnetic: Harrow, Hydroid, Mag, Mesa

Sounds like the +% amount is completely random (I think it’s always between 25% and 55%)... the frame has no influence on the amount.

So, we have a new room to build. The latest patch added the ability to trade converted lichs to clan members (maybe anyone? Not clear), but we need the new room.

I haven't even made a lich yet. I have 5/8 requiem mods and will aim to gradually accumulate all of them, by which time DE may have made further changes to the system. Some of the weapons seem good but I'm not too excited about them if it means dealing with RNG over and over. The system just seems to be intended to create another plat market.

On the plus side I got the 3d affinity booster from nightwave so plugged 5 forma into Wisp and now have the 300% strength build I wanted. The Graxx tennogen skin looks great on her.

I’ve gone through 6, or 7. Converted a couple, killed the rest. I have 2 of the ephemera (Toxin, and Rad), twin stubba, Karak, shildeg (hammer), Kohm, and Tonkor. Really liking the hammer (40, toxin), and the Kohm (40, also toxin). Currently Formaing the Karak (rad) to 40.

I tend to not even try to stab the lich until I have at least 2 of the words known, via thrall-kills. I would recommend having at least one of each word before killing your first larvaaling. Once you start your lich, mercying thralls gets you (and you team) the murmurs that will eventually tell you what words are needed, but not the order - so there will still be some trial and error, even if you know all 3.

Thrall-kills will also have a chance of dropping Kuva relics, so you might find that you never have to do the siphons/floods ever again.

I’m really enjoying the addition of the liches, it’s got me playing all those forgotten nodes - places I haven’t been since I initially cleared the star chart.

Carrier prime is coming back. yay!

Rising tide is live, that means we can start the slow process of building our railjack dock.
Apparently, we should start farming fieldron, mutagen masses and and detonite injectors for what comes after we build the dock.

I’ve found Mutagen Mass is the major slow-point.

I'm still cynical after the Old Blood updates, but it occurs to me that releasing the drydock and railjack build ahead of the Empyrean content is a good way of leading people to invest time in grinding that they might not if they could see the new gameplay.

Two youtubes with details on building the Railjack

And

expensive

To be fair, with the inevitable DElays, we'll have plenty of tine to just do a couple invasions a week and get it all.
