You say that like it is a breeze to "have friends" :-p

Seriously, are folks just friending as part of lfg?

As far as Orokin Catalyst/Reactor - there are a few that I would recommend Reactor-ing: Rhino being one of the early ones.

It seems like my hunch was right and now is the time to have my "main" frame and kit for map clearing and then use the other stuff for farming and the like. I was planning on using Rhino as the survivability is great for solo.

Yep. Rhino is the only one I've done so far, at MR12, up to just starting Sedna.

Yeah, LFG in the recruiting channel, and friend up with any, or all, of the 3. Never met them before.

Anyway I can get a clan invite? Been really enjoying this game the last couple weeks. warframe name : llyrric

After some time with Anthem and the Division 2 Beta recently, I've come back to Warframe and have been relearning things and going beyond what I'd learned a while ago.

I think inventory size may start to get to me here pretty quickly, but all the progression systems still strike me as pretty cool.

When I came back I discovered I'd just built Rhino so I've been leveling it. I've seen a lot of praise for Rhino, but it hasn't totally clicked. I think I've gotten off the path a little bit in exploring Fortuna and Plains, wanting to do some of the new events I'm not really ready for. Fortuna especially I can't really take the enemies there myself so it was a bit painful exploring and trying to do a few things. I should probably continue trying to unlock all the planets.

I definitely have a bit of a problem with always wanting to be trying new weapons and frames for mastery, but also wanting to make progress. Doesn't seem like you can always do both, which throws me a little.

100% no. Frame will be hard. However, you really only need 1 good weapon out of the ones you carry. So if you take a well leveled weapon in 1 slot you can level weapons in 2 other slots while doing progression content.

Been doing this and it's a good compromise. Not optimal for mastery... but otherwise you wouldn't make it through tougher stuff.

I have a lot of focus to do on upgrading mods, I think. I've been hesitant to go too far with it because of how expensive it is.

Lots of tips throughout but my biggest one is still this.

Pick 1 weapon. Get 2 + forma in it. Put most of your endo into it (along with defensive warframe mods). Get it really nice. Doing this you can usually use that weapon and do anything you need to. Also you may think it's not "optimal" but fact is certainly if you player with public groups open you will be going through stuff so much faster makes up for loss of xp on main weapon. Less so if you play solo.

Frame you really only need leveled enough to put redirection and vitality in and if you have a good weapon you will probably be fine.

Lots of great tips here, been reading a ton along with wiki and some youtube stuff.

I'm definitely seeing that the path of least resistance forward is to pick a frame and at least one weapon and just make it as good as you can, but I definitely have a problem with games like this where I just want to try lots of things. I'll have to see if I can curb that a bit, because I enjoy the gameplay here so getting to more of that will be fun too.

The GWJ clan is also really rad and a great resource even if just for access to items in game, it looks like. All kinds of stuff unlocked.

One thing to be mindful of when checking out youtube stuff. The game has had MAJOR shifts in the way it plays and their mechanics over the years. Need to make sure that you're reading/watching up to date material.

That Vectis prime from Twitch is still my best weapon.

But on some harder content I have run out of ammo with it often. Then I end up screwed with the other crap weapons I'm leveling. So I've had to keep a decent melee equipped just in case lately.

Feels like I'm stuck either going to lower content for xp or progressing with only maxed out weapons equipped.

The carrier companion is a godsend for ammo hungry weapons, converts other ammo types to youd currently equipped weapon. Very much worth getting asap.

Good idea.

I have it. I just use the kubrow all the time who likes to dig up items for me. Once all my companions were maxed on xp I just stuck with him most times.

Thankfully my weapons of choice seem to be ammo efficient, since I've never actually built the Carrier. I almost always run with my Adarza Kavat since I bred her, she's my favourite by far. She even came with that ugly-cute face that everyone else hates but I think is incredible. Plus her colouration matches my Nyx, my main frame for tougher missions.

I should bust my poor Kubrow out of stasis at some point for pats and exercise however.

Yea, picked up on that and have been mindful to check out newer things.

I'd love to try Vectis Prime (and Trinity Prime). I haven't tried a sniper yet. Looks like this stuff is driven through Amazon Prime (via Twitch)? Maybe too much trouble.

I discovered Invasions as a good source of Fieldron yesterday, so I'm working toward Helios. I have a Kubrow now as well. Sounds like upkeep for those might be a bit of a hassle?

If you already have prime it is soooo worth it. The prime weapons are a great leg-up. I have not played trinity yet as I am mostly solo and she seems ... less so.

That said i just got frost rolling ans it is a great frame. I am also building HEK currently as a primary and I thin that and Rhino will get me through the rest of the map.

Trinity is actually fantastic. if you're careful she's pretty much immortal (her 1, 3 and 4) and she has unlimited energy with her 2 once she's modded. I really like using her as a melee frame since she can channel infinitely without worrying about mods that increase channeling cost.

Since they changed melee with the Hildrn deploy I don't even know how channeling works anymore! Not even sure if that's intentional because for about a day I couldn't aim down sights, either, until they hot fixed it. But on the plus side Hildryn is dope.

This was/is me. Although, I’m running out of this to level, just because I’m being a little lazier in my purchases.

I’ve been trying to get as much of the Nightwave stuff done as I feel comfortable doing... some of those missions are out of my league (or beyond my patience threshold, at least). Just got to the 3x Forma tier, ohh yeah

I completed the 100 fracture event. I might do the scans, next.

Still loving Gara for 99% of everything - pay attention to the timer on the 2, and destroy everything you can get close enough to hug. Also stuck a greater Zenurik lens on her (because she does most of the killing). I found her critical weakness though... I did the highest level arena on Sedna... it was reduced duration as a modifier - I had a whole 10s on her 2, completely nullified my damage-dealing, and tanking, ability. Died soooo many times... thank Space-mom for the (competent) Rhino.

Quill standing-gain is still painfully slow going. I feel like you need a proper amp to do Eidolons, and you can’t gain a lot of standing without doing Eidolons.... thanks DE

Probably going to spend more time in the Vallis - I need more toroids to get Garuda built.

I'm with you there. Pretty much written off any content that is gated by Eidolons, Quill, or the big spoiler mechanic.

I don't use Amazon Prime, but it looks like the Twitch Prime/Loot link up works with a free trial... Kind of weird, but I'll see if the items appear for me.

Another powered up weapon will be welcome. I think I'm starting to hit a bit of a wall at level 25-30 in missions with tons of enemies (and maybe a few really powerful ones). My damage still seems pretty OK, but sometimes I can't survive a few seconds of (I guess) a whole room firing on me. I should go read about armor maybe since final Rhino builds look to only have armor up, whereas I'm also currently running vitality and redirection.

Mod upgrades getting pricey... I think I can just about go farm for Split Chamber, so that might help damage even more.

I was working on Nightwave yesterday since I'd really like to get the free slots. The warframe slot may be out of reach. Many of the challenges I can't do yet, and the gathering ones can be pretty slow. I'm really hoping to finish Archwing Launcher soon so I can move around the open areas better.

I'd be happy to throw some money in, but considering inventory needs seem nearly infinite I'm keen to see if I get a login discount sometime soon.

It is worth waiting, with a 50% discount I bought enough plat to free up all the slots I will need for the foreseeable future.

How many slots is that do you think, to feel you're kind of covered? Seems like it could be a lot and there's kind of no cap on the cost of it (if you were to really collect lots of stuff).

I’m up to 27 frames, with probably another 6 “on the horizon.” I could sell off a few of the ones I didn’t care for (Wukong, I’m looking at you...), but I kinda want all of them, so that’s not likely to happen. My real debate is whether I should sell off basic Oberon, because I have Oberon Prime.... it’s not like O’s component blueprints are hard to come by.

As far as weapons go... I’m sure I’m holding on to too many. I feel like I should hold on to the couple primes (Lex, Orthos, Barton) though.

I'm a frame hoarder, I think I have 17 or 18, but I wouldn't keep a regular frame I have the prime version of.

The melee changes have me itching to come back. I liked the bit I played of Venus so I'd like to work my way through that.

Next time I log in I'll probably get a 75% discount again, it seems to do it regularly after I take a break, so I want to make sure I have some spare cash to take advantage.

Collecting is my tendency as well. I'm already feeling limited on slots and the nightwave stuff hasn't been cheap to do. I think 80k standing may be out of my reach for the weapon and frame slots. I don't know how long I have.

I tried for a bit tonight again to finish the airwing launcher so I can get around more easily. I really have some bones to pick with how Planes of Eidolon works.

The enemies seem hard in Planes, but it's more the constant dropping of guys on top of you and peppering of bullet fire from a stream of tiny little flying things overhead. All the time. The grass makes it hard to see enemies and they shoot from very far away. Even at low levels they seem to hurt me a lot despite being able to kill them in a fraction of a second. There's some melee enemy that just appears on top of me sometimes in packs and kills me immediately.

In the end, gathering resources has just been painful--specifically Iradite. It's hard to find and gives like 1 unit at a time. Maybe I'll just do bounties instead and hope for the best. I don't need to do this stuff now, but I guess it's access to Nightwave challenge stuff that's pushed me towards it.

I remember when I was directed into the Plains... it seems that it’s “hey, this stuff is here” but it felt like I wasn’t really supposed to be really doing much of it, yet. (Very much the same thing regarding Fortuna/Orb Vallis) I returned to it muuuuch later - I think I might have been past Jupiter, with more frames, weapons, mods, and “skill”.

FINALLY got my hands on a Fleeting Expertise, after a million vaults.

Noticed a guy in Recruitment Chat offering “Tours of the Vallis” - 3 of us took him up on the offer. He took us around to all the data-scans, plus a couple other points of interest. (It wasn’t 100% altruism, there is content waiting behind the community’s 100% scan of all those data modules, so it’s his way of speeding up the process) I even got a bunch of toroids out of one of the caves

Reasons to hoard:

Riven mods can make a fun but weak weapon great. My rule of thumb is ignore effectiveness, if a weapon is fun keep it. My only outlier here is the Tigris because it punches a hole through space and time.

Arbitrations are easier if you have a nice roster to pull from. Although I don't think there's much goodies locked behind arbitration so its kind of ignorable. To some extent the sorties also have this benefit, but really you just need a frame to counter each type of mission modifier.

Every now and again they overhaul frame and it becomes more fun or viable, like Saryn. Been waiting patiently for Nyx to get her due.

Also I find I can pick up a frame I've neglected a long time, clear the mods, and start from scratch with a better understanding of how the powers and mods interact. Sometimes the alchemy leads to effective/fun surprises. I bet you can fast forward that process looking up builds and what not, but I like the experimentation.

~1k plat if put into slots should more than cover you, an if you have a discount code it works out to be the price of a normal game in the store, so I was not too upset to give the devs some $ after the amount of hours I have already put in.
