Warframe

Not a bad idea, and as a PC player that should be easy enough

Bah, my mind apparently drifted off after I read 'Rhino' and I missed the part about you needing control mods. It's only 12:30 and I swear I feel like I've been at work for a solid week.

Looks like my warframe username is danjool. Hit me up and we'll find some modules.

Before playing Warframe I'd have found someone saying that absolutely insufferable. Now ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I was looking for a good place to farm affinity last night. Seems the defense on Saturn (Helene) is a decent spot until I get to Sedna later. But then there was mention of farming focus, a resource I'd never heard of yet. That took me down a Google rabbit hole. Wow there is so much to this game.

Anyway Saturn worked well in a run to wave 15 last night with pubs. Finally maxed my starting Skana and sold it.

Also finally bought some plat and Warframe slots. Tried out Oberon first, maybe will do Mag too this weekend. Got Oberon Prime recipe in a relic mission recently so thought I should see if I like the basic before pursuing the parts.

I’ve done the Saturn, Jupiter, and Ceres (pretty sure I’m thinking of Ceres) defences for maxing out frames, and weapons (minimum gear loadouts to minimize the xp split) - I just really like the Jupiter map. It makes quite a difference if you’re using the “suggested” weapon type (+X% xp on kills).

I’ve watched a guy do Spy missions to grind out tons of affinity VERY fast - if you get in the vaults undetected you get triple the affinity payout. You’re in-and-out in a couple minutes. He was leveling weapons without firing a shot.

Ooh, I have a neat tip for Oberon, it took a while for me to really find the niche I liked with him, he felt a bit underpowered before I stumbled upon a good mod setup. I'll spoiler it in case you prefer to self discover:

Spoiler:

Oberon pairs very well with Hunter Adrenaline. If you stack on as many armour mods as you can, and buff his health but importantly not his shields, you can get a feedback loop going with his third ability, Renewal. Normally, it's a fairly potent regen, but can drain your energy quickly if you're not careful with it.

With Hunter Adrenaline, any damage you take to health is converted to energy. With Renewal active, any hit you take will be rapidly healed, giving you a net energy gain and essentially making you near invulnerable to anything that can't burst you down very quickly while recharging your energy at the same time, which then gives you plenty of juice to keep Hallowed Grounds running as well to further buff your armour and make you immune to those bloody Ancient tethers.

It's perfect for survival or any other high intensity missions, particularly if you need to lock down an area or otherwise not move much, and it's great solo, where you're attracting all the aggro you need to charge up your batteries.

That's a nice idea. Looks like that mod isn't available right now, but the normal

Spoiler:

Rage

is. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Definitely noticed burning through energy too easy on Oberon. Tried Mag a bit last night and this morning and she is interesting. Still haven't got to the final power but the combo on 2/3 is a neat idea. Probably going to have energy issues with her though too.

Having Trinity Prime as a free starting frame has just spoiled me I guess. Never run out of energy.

Maxed out and sold a few more weapons yesterday. Crafting new stuff now. It's pretty fun how differently the weapons play, in particular all the various melee styles. Reminds me of Monster Hunter a little bit, how changing the weapon you use makes the game feel fresh.

Is anybody else playing on Switch? Haven't seen friends online this week, and didn't know if anyone else needed clan access? We have a decent amount of low mastery weapon blueprints available now.

MR7!

That test was actually tough.

I just hit MR11 and yes, I find the tests do start to get a bit tricky.

I've stated making a habit of practicing the tests until I complete them 3 times in a row then doing the actual test.

Yeah I started doing one practice at MR4, when I actually figured out where the practice was haha.

Anybody else read about the roadmap for 2019? Holy crap, among other things like a revamped melee system, we're getting co-op ship combat!

That's the 2nd part of the Fortuna update. There's video of the game play of it from the last TennoCon.

That's the next major update "Rail Jack" I believe they were calling it. Fortuna 2 is out and included the new Ediolon type encounters (although supposedly pretty different). However, yes I do believe the Ship combat is coming next.

Chairkicker and I ran into each other in the Switch dojo last night. Adding more labs finally.

Looks like we're out of power though. I'm going to have to add on a t junction or something and build another reactor, then maybe demo and move the old reactor. We just don't quite have enough space/power for all the labs. Need like 2 more doors and 15 power or so.

Guess we'll get there eventually. But for now the tenno lab has a ton of useful weapons and other recipes for below MR8.

I’ve been playing Nova so much, I’ve forgotten how to play my other frames...

I’ve been clearing out my blue diamonds - I think I have one Defection left on Uranus (Oh Cephalon, I hate Defections...), and most of Neptune and Pluto are clear.

After much research, I’ve made a list of all the Frames, and where/how to get them. Bought all the Clan-available ones - easy-peezy. Currently cooking - Banshee, Equinox Night Aspect, Hydroid, Nezha, Zephyr, and Wukong (quite a Nitain-sink, this one). Failed to get Chroma Prime’s System BP out of either of my 2 Radiant Axi Relics - and as a further insult, bronze item... both times

Spent some time running Spy missions on Pluto - trying for Ivara parts... boy, that is an exercise in frustration - in over an hour’s time (between 1 and 2 hrs) I got one copy of the Ivara BP... that’s it... the other guy that stuck around (after he noticed that I was hitting “Repeat Mission”) already had the BP - he needed the neuroptic. We even had a Rhino stick around for several re-runs (the other 2 of us were using Limbo, for the laser-immunities). It was mostly: me running to A (sometimes getting out with no alarm), the other Limbo on B (rarely set off the alarm), and one or both of us getting to C (Rhino popped the alarms... often). Getting out with only one alarm, or no alarm at all got me from 0 to 30 on an MR Fodder dagger, and almost 0-30 on another weapon... spys pay out so much affinity, if you can manage no alarm... so much.

I’ll be back on tonight for a couple hours, I might continue on my Ivara quest... we’ll see.

This is my second attempt of getting into the game and this time around I think I managed to stick around long enough to understand enough of the basics to enjoy myself and keep playing. Just made rank 5 today, starting to build Rhino tomorrow.

I think there are no EU/US servers, right? So is there a GWJ clan I can join?

Rhino is still my go to. I keep trying new frames for level up but back to it when I need a story mission done or try to unlock a new planet

I’ve still been playing nothing but Warframe

MR11 (nearly 12), War Within completed... finally. Limbo has turned out to be one of the frames that I will switch into, depending on the mission - his ability to just ignore everything, namely security-lasers in spy missions is very powerful.

Bought my first Primed mod from Baro: Primed Continuity.

Undoing my mistake with Syndicate standings - I did SM, and RV... doing that KILLS your standing with the other 4. Better to have done SM, and Suda - that way I gain SM, AoH, CS, and RV standing, with only negative standing with New Loka and, uhhhh... the other one.

Currently beating my head against the wall in medium difficulty (L16-25) Spy, for Ivara’s chassis - The wiki includes Ceres’s Spy, but it falls below the 16-25 range (not sure which is true), so I quit that one, did one round of the Corpus Spy on Jupiter, but quickly found out that I think I prefer Grineer versions and moved up to Saturn. Leveling up Wukong while doing it.

Speaking of Wukong - I feel like he’s a worse version of Excalibur... not liking him at all (his 1 is kinda lame (if it was radial, then it’d be MUCH better, his 2 is “avoid death” while it drains your energy, meh, 3 is “turn into smoke” different, but meh, and his 4 is like Excalibur’s 4, but it doesn’t shoot out awesomewavesofdeath so... meh).

Made my first trades! Sold Shattered Justice for 10 plat (matched cheapest price for a friend), Bought Helios Prime for 30 plat (it was just vaulted, so I think that was a pretty good price (looking at the rest of the list at 40+)).

Made a few runs against 2 of the Acolytes - the mods they drop are... different, but I don’t see any of them being useful enough to replace a ‘better’ mod.

Main focus lately - Spy missions for Ivara chassis, PoE mining materials to finish Gara, and started the first bit for Octavia. I need to get my cash reserves back up so I can finish off Equinox (need to merge Night and Day, that’s it! I can’t wait )

PS: I’m still not jumping on my Ayatan hunts... I really need to start doing those.

Same, on Switch. MR9, almost 10. Just finished Second Dream last night so got to select a focus. Still not sure how I am supposed to level it up though.

Need to try more limbo. Your point about spy missions is good. I've been farming Semenei, Ceres defense for credits a ton. Leveling up Vauban the last few days. Did Frost and Mag last week. Limbo frustrates me when others use it sometime so I've been avoiding it for group missions so it's still stuck at 12 or so. But spy should be a good place for me to try again.

Bought my first primed mod too, the max energy one. And despite selling off a bunch of prime parts for that I also crafted my first prime weapon: Lex.

Need argon crystals for lots of crafting so I think I need to do more void missions. But also trying to unlock Pluto, so those for the rest of tonight I think.

Don’t forget that argon crystals degrade, so don’t stockpile too many (not that you get them in abundance).

That defense on Ceres is my go-to for credits ~25k for a 5 min mission I like to warn my party that that’s what I’m up to, though... sometimes I even get teammates stick around.

A couple more runs at The Saturn Spy, and Wukong is finally at 30... got to shelve him, Yay! (I hear he’s getting a re-work, so I won’t sell him off, just yet.) Zephyr, and Loki we’re ready to go next - Zephyr got picked just because I’m still doing those Spys, and ignoring everything except the hacks (and trying to do it undetected) means I’m not having to worry about frame abilities, much (I’ve heard that Loki is a better Nyx, and I kinda like Nyx). Zephyr is super-floaty-boy - kinda annoying sometimes - I’ve actually said “can you just land now, please?!” Zephyr might be the one that’ll let me do that damned Pavlov node, on Lua.

Equinox (final form) is finally cooking!!! So is Valkyr.

Yeah I still need parts for ember, equinox, and maybe one other that I have started to collect but not built.

Was not aware the Acoyltes were back. Majority of the acolytes mods are "meh". They are famous because of 2 mods.

Argon Scope
Maiming Strike

These are two of the highest costing mods in the game. Maiming Strike is probably the best mod in the game (at least until the melee 3.0 rework comes in then who knows). Argon Scope is a lot more situation but rare. However, the price in both of these have dropped a fair amount because the acolytes have become a much more common thing (every 6 months or so rather than like once a year). So the amount of these mods being out there has just gone up.

Wukong is probably one of the weaker frames currently. He is on the rework list.
Loki is the king of Spy missions. However, others like Ivara/limbo have ways of avoiding lasers. You can do any spy missions with any frame you just need to learn it. However, these frames allow for mistakes.

Accidentally took my Limbo into hyena pack boss fight on Neptune last night. Apparently the team I got dumped into wasn't prepared either. A bunch of wipes and everyone quit.

Ok let me get my rhino. Then no one joins my mission. Well ok I'll try to solo. No problem, mission complete. Only one death because the one boss drained all my energy and my armor ran out. Not bad.

Guess I need a few more runs to farm Loki but I really want to get to Pluto.

Argon Scope is a lot of fun. When everything lines up just right sometimes it looks like the damage numbers are going to int overflow.

Before making a judgment on Zephyr I'd recommend going to Plains of Eidelon or Fortuna and zipping around with a lot of duration. Also I found Zephyr was great for Ivara farming on the Grineer spy missions, both because you can bypass a lot of spy crap if you have crazy verticality and the overall speed boost lets you solo them very quickly. Don't forget the first power is 50% off if you're in the air already, so hop before takeoff.

I see... well I guess I’m going to keep trying the Acolytes - those always seem to be busy, so pretty easy to get groups.

Do note that the good mods are only from I think Violence and Malice and only like 3% drop chance.

The only mods I've gotten from the Acolytes so far are Body Count and Blood Rush, which might not be the preferred ones noted above, but in tandem and thrown onto a decent crit based melee weapon, you sure can have a lot of fun. Added it to my invincible Oberon build mentioned earlier and took it for a spin. Managed to build up quite the combo!

I was already building my Dual Zorens to be big red-crit machines on my Octavia before I got the Acolyte mods. With the mods I did see a few damage numbers that looked to be in the 6 digits on a slide attack, which isn't bad for a pair of hatchets. Currently building Dual Keres to give them a go next.

I forgot blood rush is acolytes. That is certainly a pretty good one also. Just not the plat value of the other two.
