Warframe

Forma can be common/uncommon. Personally i've never seen it as rare. They use it as both Common/uncommon to help balance Relics. Because relics get rotated everytime a frame gets vaulted they sometimes have uncommon slots open that they need to fill.

Also note forma blueprints are not a bad drop either. Maybe not exciting but something you always want to have some of around.

Progress update:

Still no further on the New Strange, with a little more done on Limbo Theorem (build-timers for the parts, slows you down).

Maxed out Excalibur (potatoed and extra “not-aura” slot thing-y), built and maxed out Rhino, built and working on Nyx. Currently weapon-grinding - Dread (it’s alright), Cestus(?, it’s okay), and Ether Daggers (slash, slash... so fast). Archwing Launcher Segment built, and installed - actual launcher soon(tm), just need to get a bunch more Iradite and Grokdrul. Frost and Oberon cooking, now.

Reputation grinds - Steel Meridian want an Orokin REACTOR next, jeeeeeeeze! Thanks, jerks... I kinda need those myself - and have you noticed they’re kinda RARE?!? Also working on the Cetus folks - I have access to Zaws (I heard they’re good, but... ??), just the low-level parts, atm. I like the little mining mini-game no idea what’s worth much, but “I’m walking past it anyway....”. I have 2 fishing spears now, I guess I should pay attention to which fish I’m about to spear - one barbed for unarmoured, and the other “pointy” for scaled(?, iirc).

Credits are still my #1 limiter (not counting rare stuff) - spending 100k in the foundry, a couple times (thank you Twitch-drops), and 15k-50k on other builds, eats into those savings fast.

2 (of 3) extractors running, as often as I can, are helping with the plastids/neurodes/neural sensors :). Those were expensive to get going, but are very worth it... especially on my “off weeks”. I just need to get through New Strange to be able to get some nano-spores.

Flying around that open map, in a stolen Dragyn - is fun - closing in on that achievement

Also.... I bought the 3 pieces of an archwing weapon (Mitre, iirc from SM), but I don’t see any way to actually build it... do I also need a BP? I haven’t seen one.

Reputation - Yeah they are expensive but only need to pay for it once. So not going to lie it sucks early not really way of helping. To add on bad news if you are doing Steel you are also leveling Red veil (half as fast) so should be watching that also. You do get nice rewards eventually from both.

Credits - I forget are you on PC? I could take you on an index run as long as you have 50k, and make you 200k to give you a starting boost. (Will be a bit boring for you but doesn't take that long.

Extractors are great early but later on become more annoying then they are worth. Great thing for you now though.

Archwing weapon - You do need blueprint probably available in Dojo (most are if not check the in game market)

Yeah... I’m PC-only. 50k for? Building a key, or something?

The way the the index works is a wager. So 3 levels (don't know the lower 2 levels less wager less reward). The way high index works is this. It's 4 players(or AI) vs 4 AI. You risk 50k. If you lose you lose 50k. If you win you get your 50k back. If you hit your "goal" which is 100 points in High you get 250k 50k wager + 200k reward.

Honestly it is by far a pretty meh mode in the game. You have to be pretty highly geared and it's gets pretty boring (which is why i'm offering only for one run :P). However, it is by far the best/easiest way to earn credits in game.

The Index is great for Mesa if you have a teammate you trust to do the pickups and turn ins. You find some long lanes and pretty much kill anything that comes into sight. That's with 2 formas into it. I really want 2 more to be able to max out primed continuity.

I’m only just now doing Cetus... I’ve cleared Mercury to Jupiter, and part of Europa and the Void - stuck on “defeat Chroma” (the waves destroy the pod). I’m working on the missions from Konzu- building standing for access to their stores. I’ve heard that Zaws are popular. I wouldn’t consider Cetus to be “early” content.

Until some of the Umbra weapons came out i think Zaws were some of the best melee weapons in the game. It takes a while though to get enough rep to buy the high end pieces you'd need to make them.

Or you can just have a 6 forma opticore on Rhino and man mode it

Thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll pass (it sounds like I’m doing you a favour ;)).

I ‘love’ that when I look up builds for frames (I was trying to find out how to make Nyx (and then Frost) useful) - these guys seem to be forgetting that newer players are NOT going to have access to these high-end mods. I like ones where they will say/show “you’ll start with these, but ultimately progress to these”. Plus their frames all have 74 power.

The builds work just fine with the non prime versions, and actually saves you some formas until you're able to get the prime versions.

Yeah, 74 power comes from 60 (max frame with potato) + 14 extra for aura

Lots of new deluxe (for me) skins available.
Still a few I'd like to get. Waiting for the 75% discount on login

My complaint was more that their mods are all gold, “prime this”, or “prime that”... or those crazy purple ones. I feel like long-time players (“experts”) forget that not everyone has “unlimited power”(tm). I’m full up on bronzes, a bunch of (but not all - I still find silver and bronze mods that I’ve never seen before (a neat “set” bronze one (increased ability duration)).

It was helpful in learning which abilities are worth using, and which are, overall, a waste of power. Nyx - spam 3, 4 doesn’t deal enough damage, why 1 when you can 3, and I forget what 2 is... (edit 2 is “mind bullets” - also doesn’t do enough damage). Nyx is all about the CC, and she does it pretty well, but I hear Loki is just “better” at it.

Nyx (even in her low-20s) was enough to pass “Defeat Chroma” - it still took a few attempts. Her CC ability was what finally got me past the mobs killing the pod - Excalibur and Rhino just don’t have the “delaying” power, I could kill them fine, but just couldn’t cover all the angles in time. The reason it took a few runs was I had no clue how to deal with Chroma... if I hadn’t muted Ordis, I miiight have caught on quicker *derp*. It didn’t help that, once I found out I was supposed to scan him... I only had 3 charges of Cephalon’s scanner *derp again*.

The New Strange complete! Dipped my toe into Saturn - yay, nano-spores!

Still more than 24hrs for Frost, almost 2 days before Oberon is finished. I’m running out of weapons to level - currently working on the Boar (auto-shotty), and almost 30 on the Twin Gremlins, sticking with the ether daggers, for now.

I’ll probably do some more Saturn, mixing in some Cestus rep-building, tonight.

I don't have Nyx yet, so I can't speak for her specifically, but generally I recommend checking out the latest videos on a given frame. More than once, I've found out certain skills that seem sub-par actually have synergy with another skill.

For Nyx - 1 is mind control (one unit fights for you for 30+ seconds), 2 fires up to 6(?) mind bullets (iirc it’s only ever 1/target, but maxes out at 5 or 6 targets), 3 AoE confusion (enemies will attack the closest target), 4 sucks all damage to you (runs until you 4 again), then discharges that absorbed damage (with a percent multiplier) outward.

I find with most games (bullet-sponges in particular) that - enemies’ “health increase” vastly out-paces their “damage dealing” - so anything that reflects damage back becomes more and more lacklustre. Alternatively, if you can get a mob to stand around for a not insignificant period of time (with the added bonus of hurting each other), while you kill them... that is going to (almost always) be super effective.

If you need weapons in a pinch do note from the in game market you can search for MK1 and make sure you have mastered all of those. MK1 weapons are weaker variants but when you buy from market you buy the entire gun not blue print. So good leveling fodder when you need it.

As far as builds. If you search you can often find ones without the "riven" Purple mods. As far silver/bronze/gold that is rarity but a lot of the golds are available early on. Sadly they don't really have a way of differentiating until you know the mods between normal rare mods and truly rare mods. What i mean by that is there are a lot of gold mods that yes are a rare drop but can drop from lot of places including early places. Then what i would call truly rare mods like the "Corrupted mods" which are only found in the derelict vaults (these mods like heavy caliber have a plus but a negative) or maiming strike/argon scope which are only obtained through killing bosses in a special event that comes 1-2 times a year.

I would recommend searching a build looking at it and trying to find out where the mods drop or if you have a weaker variant of those mods. Also if you are looking for x mod (that is not a super rare like heavy caliber) feel free to post in here and ask. A lot of mods like "Split Chamber" are somewhat rare but also don't sell for anything worth wild so veterans probably have multiple sitting around. Early on selling mods or turning them into endo helps but late game they are not worth that much so generally mods just start stacking up doing nothing. I only bother cleaning up now when piles are over 100 of that mod.

Nyx:
1 beats 3 for when you have a really heinous enemy you really don't want to fighting you right now. Enemies hit with 3 may still attack you, they're just "Frenzied", but with 1 that enemy will definitely not attack you. I think if you 1 an enemy that heals, they'll heal the team instead of the enemies? Might have to double check that one.

4 has some use cases where it shines. The sphere you make is completely invulnerable, so it is a nice short-term defensive bubble. The damage it puts out is based on the incoming damage. Sit on the defense objective for a few seconds with a crowd wailing on you, and when you pop it everything will die.

2 I use to take out annoying flying things and cameras on the cheap.

I won’t deny that I have used her 1 (it does switch the healing recipients) and 4, occasionally, but 3 dwarfs those two in frequency of use.

I’ve maxed out the ability range boosting mod(s) - it reaches out very far, indeed.

So I'm about to max my Trinity Prime, and the two Twitch Prime weapons, all 29.

Then what do I do?

Also did we ever make that GWJ Switch clan? Even if it's just 3-4 of us would be worth it I think

I don't know. I didn't make one. I actually haven't played since Smash came out, other than to log on and get the Rhino frame cooking.

I'd definitely be in for joining though.

Farm more frames, build and level more weapons, work your way through the quests and star map.

*edit*

And yes, definitely worth having a clan, for the blueprints if nothing else.

All y'all are talking way over my head...
I'm still just happy with Valkyrie.

Alright I read the wiki, I think can handle making the clan on Switch.

Tennos With Jobs?

PC is Space Ninjas with jobs

OK created on Switch too. Now I need your Warframe names, since it won't invite on just Switch user name. I think chairkicker and vlox have different in-game names, even though we're Switch friends.

Anybody else need an invite on Switch?

Cool. Thanks for doing that. I'll look up my in game name later tonight.

Fortuna Part 2 released

Patch Notes

New Orb mother plan/hunt? supposedly the new major thing

ATMOSPHERE' ARCH-GUN WEAPONS

It's time we equipped some serious floor firepower! All Arch-Guns can be used on the ground - or as we like to call it 'Atmosphere' - with the use of a 'Gravimag'. Gravimag is obtained from Clan Research, or as a one-time reward from the Orb Heist Phase 3 Bounty, and can be installed on any Arch-Gun (with an Orokin Catalyst installed) via the Upgrade Arsenal - similar to installing a Catalyst.

Comparable to the Archwing and K-Drive Launchers, a respective Gear item known as the Archweapon Deployer is required to activate your Atmosphere Arch-Gun. The Archweapon Deployer can be obtained by completing the Orb Heist Phase 3 Bounty.

Atmosphere Arch-Gun General Changes:

Atmosphere Arch-Guns consume Ammo as opposed to unlimited Ammo/Battery in Archwing. Specifically new Heavy Ammo Drops which can be found from Corpus enemies in Orb Heist missions. Heavy Ammo Drops also reset the 10 minute cool-down when picked up, or replenish Ammo if needed.

Atmosphere Arch-Gun can be summoned in normal missions with the Archweapon Deployer, but once Ammo has been depleted there is a 10 minute cool-down until you can summon again. The intent here is to allow you moments of beefy damage output, and not become just another Primary/Secondary weapon.

Got vlox, chairkicker, and Coldstream invited.

Thanks Stele!

OK so dojo questions for the Switch clan...

Someone started construction on Temple of Honor. Seems cool, it's a room with 4 doors, so we can put other things on the end of it. But we're out of energy now. So need to build a reactor before we can add any more rooms.

Guess we need to wait for the temple room to finish and then build a reactor on one of the new connections? Building it on the other end of the basic clan hall would make a dead end.

Or does it matter? Could I just put it on the other end? And then branching off the temple I could put garden rooms with 4 more doors each and just have the whole dojo expand in one direction instead of both? Might be more convenient to only have to go one direction. Thoughts?

And it looks like either way, after the reactor gives us enough power, an Oracle needs to be the next room, since it unlocks all other research rooms. Right?

And I only have one forma, which came as a starter pack gift I think. So I can chip in for one room, then I'm out. Best way to get more? Should I be saving them for personal use until I have more to spare for the clan? Not even sure what they are used for yet honestly. It just seems rare and figure I should ask before spending it.
