Warframe

I wonder how many players do you need for a working dojo/clan? I mean if we should start one with us three? Timezone-differences make coop difficult for me (I'm in UTC+3) but dojo benefits would be beneficial.

Just one - some people chose to solo their own clan/dojo. It just will take a lot longer to research all the clan unlockables (weapons, frames, color palettes, and more) and there's a few recipes that will just be beyond you ever earning with a solo/small dojo.

Yeah, I'd be interested in joining/helping with a Switch clan. Loving the game so far.

Even with Smash coming out, I'm still excited to play more Warframe.

Suvanto, I'll add you later tonight.

Also - sending enemies flying with the Hek (or Boltor), never gets old

I think the in game clan help said there were tiers, starting as low as 10 members. We might as well try it. Even if we don't play together there's clan trading and some other stuff.

Finished up the starting quest chain last night and got my 100k and other starting bonus. 3 day boost or something.

Not sure what to do next mission wise. Also I got a Nova recipe at some point but not sure how to build/find the parts required to forge it.

Sounds good. Yeah, I play too sporadically to really be on consistently.

As far as missions, I've mostly been focusing on unlocking the star chart. So meeting the requirements to open up the junction on each planet, to progress to the next planet. I'm trying to work through Mars right now.

A lot of newer players so wanted to add some early game information. As Crinkle has said first thing to to do is play a few planets and get the basics of the game ignoring systems you don't know much about. After that you can wiki/lookup systems and learn as you need them. Here I am going to give you some information I can think of that is not apparent to look for or easy to find. Again I recommend reading into this after you hit MR 2/3 and know the basics.

Warframe reward rotations

Now these are on all Defense/Survival/Interception missions. However, also some thing like hidden caches in system.
So Defense you get reward every 5 waves, Survival 5 minutes and interception every message.
So there is 3 reward pools A,B and C. These are not based on how well you do but on the progress in mission.
So first reward you get in (wave 5 , 5 minutes or 1 message) is A rotation.
Second is A rotation (wave 10, 10 minutes, 2 message)
Third is B rotation (wave 15, 15 minutes, 3 messages)
Fourth is C rotation (wave 20, 20 minutes, 4 messages).
After that it resets and go's back so if you went to 25 waves of defense you get A again etc.
On PC you can actually see the drop tables of everything here. Console is similar just on new patches will be a few weeks behind because PC gets patches sooner. PC drops

The way XP (affinity in WF world) works

Solo or kills you get
If you get it with a Weapon that weapon gains 50% of the XP and the WF you are wearing gains 50%
If you get it with a WF ability the WF gets 100%

When other people kill enemies
You gain XP the same as the players you are playing with if you are in affinity range ( a pretty decent range marked in top right by 3 circle system). So both players get 100% XP. Now when someone else kills an enemy it gets given to you as 25% to your warframe and 75% split between all weapons you are holding. So if you have only 2 weapons equipped each gets 37.5% of the xp. If you have 3 weapons each will get 25%.

So playing with others you can level weapons without ever using them. You also gain more XP per mission because more enemies spawn and you get all XP from both ones you kill and ones enemies kill in range. Also why in Survival you should stay in same general area of them but don't need to be on top of them.

Credit/Xp farming

Credits as Ranalin said above Seimeni on planet Ceres.
Experience Gabi on plane Ceres.
As you get a bit higher IO on Jupiter is also great for XP

Relic Farming

Lith - Early game you get them from a lot of actives so you should get some from just doing defenses etc. Late game the best is Orokin Derelict Survival/Defense.
Meso - A Rotation of IO on Jupiter
Neo - Akkad on Eris or C/D rotation of IO on Jupiter (harder to find people that stay on Jupiter)
Axi - Void Interception
Alternate Endo/Neo/Axi/Cryotic is the Pluto excavation

Fissures
Fissures

Forma
Forma's are used to "prestige" a weapon. It gives it a polarity slot so that you can 1/2 the capacity a mod takes. They are also used for crafting. Once you have fissures available you really want to try to have a Forma crafting as often as possible. You get the blue prints from fissure rewards. The only way to get Forma are building from blue prints, buying with plat, Special alerts (rare), or Low chance on Sorties (late game activity). Do note if you are going to purchase any. Never do it from the weapon screen. Each one is 20 plat. However, if you go to the in game market you can buy a 3 pack for 35 plat. Also last Christmas time they went on sale for like 3 pack for I think 22 plat ( I bought a bunch).

Just to add to this, the mobile app will allow you to use the Foundry to build and check the current build status of frames, weapons, etc. even when you are away from the game. One caveat - I don't see a login option for Switch as of yet.

Wink_and_the_Gun wrote:

I hear all “prime” frames are considerably better than non-primes.

As with everything else for your first 100 hours of play, don't worry about it. If you still worry despite being told not to worry, then don't blow an Orokin Reactor and multiple Forma on a frame which has a prime variant available. You can check the wiki to see if a prime variant exists.

I will stress again that months from now, if you continue to play, you will have a Reactor in every frame you play and plenty of Forma. This is not a game to worry about playing with optimum efficiency.

Not to mention it's worth your time to acquire and master frames (and weapons) even if you don't intend to keep and use them.

And since Primes are on a rotation, it could be sometime before the one(s) you really want is released and/or made available again. (I'm looking at you Mesa Prime)

Not exactly but they roughly release prime frames based on the release date of the frame. That being said Mesa is up or near up. She very well could be one of the next couple frames.

That being said it might come with a slight nerf because she is one of the stronger base frames stat wise.

When do you think the Valkyr Prime frame will be up?

Taharka wrote:

Valkyr Prime was already made but just recently (end of September) Vaulted. So the way vaulting works.

Prime frame comes out. Usually out for about 1 - 2 years. Then the frame is "Vaulted". When a frame is vaulted it is no longer in normal rotation. You can still trade with players for the frame though. Cost varies on how popular frame is, useful it is on late game actives, and how long it's been out of rotation. After about 2 years of being vaulted they start to bring frames back in 2 - 4 times a year they do unvaultings. So for a limited time you can purchase or earn (usually in set actives) relics that can be earned in certain activities. So currently I believe it is Nova/Mag. These put new sets into circulation and usually drop trading cost a bit and give you a way to earn.

So Valk you will probably have about 18 - 24 months to wait for her to be unvaulted again. However, because she so recently vaulted and a lot of sets into circulation still pretty reasonable 90-100 plat on PC current price to trade for [url=https://warframe.market/items/valkyr... prime set on Warframe Marketurl]

What Vypre was relating to was Mesa Prime had never been released as of yet.

Edit: The Prime frame rotation really is one of the genius parts of the warframe economy 1. the loot tables reasonable size 2. helps the economy for trades 3. giving reason to play and come back

Also there's a good number of players out there with a stash of vaulted relics, so I've had plenty of cases joining a public fissure run and picking up unexpected vaulted components. Certainly not something you can rely on to get exactly what you want, though.

I can't really complain, I don't even have Mesa yet, but she's been the ONE frame I've been dying to pick up since she first released. I just prefer most of the aesthetics of the Prime frames and if there's one Prime I would gladly pay for, it's her.

I don't think they can better Mesa's visual design. The way they incorporated her last ability into her hands so she is effectively going pew pew is the best.

I've been doing Relic alerts and earning various aesthetic and prime blueprint items from them off and on for at least a year now. I've gained a fair number of duplicates, but have only managed to complete a few Prime weapons and no warframes. I think I'm about ready to get into trading and trying to earn some platinum. I have enough from various free plat giveaways to cover any necessary slot increases for some time to come, but I also have at least a couple of incomplete Primed warframe sets that have since gone to the vault.

I found the Warframe Market to check current market prices... Are there any other resources or tips you guys recommend?

Without Trading: To get a specific prime blueprint, I'd look up which relics have those items, and which specific locations/rounds give those relics. Get a few, then rad them up, then hit up the grouping chat to get in on a radshare. Treat every bust as just free Ducats for two-week-what's-his-face.

With Trading: Use the chat filtering system either whitelist or blacklist until you're mostly just seeing what you are interested in. I let that run until I get a feel for consensus and decide based on that. Patience for deals or Plat for convenience.

Ok, I have used warframe market very successfully. Generally people don't message in the app use the app to find person then just /w "enter name here" to whisper them in game. One invites other to dojo and go's well. If you have any vaulted spare frame pieces like Nekros they will sell pretty good. Although generally it's the rare pieces that sell the most (gold rarity drop slots). However, you can generally sell any prime frame pieces for at lest a few plat.

Now as far as completing frames also note Rad shares are a great resource. If you go in one of channels (the one before trade channel forget name something like Grouping up) a lot of people advertise in their. Will be something like Neo N7 Rad share 2/4 etc. Meaning they are hosting a radiant share for Neo N7 relics. Pretty much you join message they invite you. Then you go into a Neo fissure and everyone will use a radian N7 relic. This gives you a good chance at getting that rare piece you are looking for. Mathematically I think every 3 runs you should get the rare piece if all 4 are using relics. I've had it first try plenty of times but taken 5-6 also.

There's even a little file icon next to the item and seller you're interested in, which if you click it, will give you a line you can copy and then paste in game as soon as you hit enter.

Think I made a couple dozen trades before I realized what that button was.

You guys referring to a feature in the original Warframe app or something else? I see two on iOS for Warframe Market, but they both have terrible reviews.

It's a website: warframe.market

It helps facilitate in-game trades since the actual in-game trading features are pretty basic.

Edit: and yeah if you are trying to farm prime parts, absolutely do rad sharing as Escher mentioned, especially for rare tier drops. It will save you a ton of time (and void traces).

Yeah sorry Warframe Market

THERE’S AN APP?!?

I think I might be hampering my progression by doing so many of the “alerts” - sure, I’m getting credits, endo, and other materials, but I’m not hitting those “blues” for MR progress.

Speaking of “blues” (not cleared locations) - I also feel like I’m not very able to push forward much... the enemies are getting very tough, but that’s probably not helped by my constant switching of weapons - as soon as I hit max (and have one available). This is making me go in with underpowered kit, because I can’t slot in mods (or only weak mods).

I still only have the Excalibur frame - Rhino completes tomorrow. I have a few weapons I’ve liked (or been told to get) - Karak, Hek, Boltor. For secondaries - Furis, Despair (stalker’s knives), and I’m kinda digging the Kraken. I’ve an assortment of melee - Fire Sword (and the dual version), Dual Skana (levelling now).

I only have 2 companions, so far - a bluish-fur dog, and the Taxon (my little Roomba) - both at max, but I haven’t done much with their available mods.

I don’t tailor my mods to mobs - I really should - and I don’t use my abilities enough, but when I need them... I really need them.

I’ve been spending most of my credits in the dojo market, and a little in the main market. I’m currently trying to save up 100k (only 60k to go) for the mobile launcher(?) - I think that’s supposed to give me access to the archwing on planet surfaces. Either that, or I bought the wrong thing

The warframe app can notify you of alerts and you can manage extractors and the foundry. Super handy.

Have you put a reactor on Excalibur yet? I put reactors on all my frames, doubling the mod capacity is a game changer.

Those melee weapons you mention are basically just MR fodder, the primaries aren't great, but putting a catalyst on the Hek makes for a solid weapon until you can get Vaykor Hek. I never liked either Boltor or Karak enough to put a catalyst. You should be able to get a Soma, even the non-primary is a very viable weapon and worth a catalyst IMO.

Of your secondaries Despair is cool, and I liked Kraken as well through the middle of the star chart.

There's a quest for the archwing that will give you the basics for now. At this point you really don't need (or have the credits for) an upgraded archewing.

You'll eventually see for yourself, but i'll 3rd Escher's and Crinkle's advice and say ignore everything and just worry about moving to the next planet.

With the exception of the forma and potato alerts the rest won't benefit you at the moment and just slow down your progress. It can probably be argued that you don't even need to be doing those yet.

Worry about leveling up your frame and weapon of choice and get some forma's into them. It may seem repetitive, but that's the game. It will also make the rest of your journey SOoooo much easier. Once you make it to Ceres it will allow you to jump start the process some and allow you to spread out quicker. You just have to get to that point first.

Ok lets take this pieces of a time.

Alerts for Endo/Credits are rarely worth it. Generally you only do alerts for Mods you don't have or Nitain. (unless they upgraded rewards in the last couple months they did talk about doing this).

Weapons what Mr Devil said. Although the Boltor is pretty good base weapon

Most of the companions take later on materials or drops so usually you don't have a lot early. I certainly would not worry about companion mods.

I believe you are correct on mobile launcher but only built it once so hard to know.

FYI on the open world areas. Well certainly PoE not as sure about Fortuna. Most of those areas give materials only really used for those areas. So sadly early game I would recommend only spending a minimum time there. They don't really give you progression you want to new planets etc. and a lot of the stuff you need. There is actually very little to do on PoE lower level I know they were trying to fix that on Fortuna. However, even if they fixed it you still are mostly earning resources that are only good on a very small set of items. Unlike 95% of the game. The decision to bring entire new resource economies to the open world areas in my opinions is one of the few economic mistakes warframe has made (which in my opinion is one of the best in game economies out there).

I’ve cleared what I can of the Void (3(?) locations), I’m (maybe) about half-through Jupiter. I had 1 forma - I spent it to move up to the next level of Steel Meridian - at that level there are 3 parts of an archwing weapon, got 1 of 3, so far (20k rep each).

I think I’ll stop doing the weapon-roulette.... where do I get the Orokin thing? I have some cells, but I feel like that’s not what you’re talking about.

Orokin Reactor and Orokin Catalyst's . What they do is normally a warframe/weapon has max (at lvl 30) 30 capacity (power) to insert mods into. These if you upgrade them into a warframe/weapon doulbe that to 60 (at max rank).

Getting them however, is very rare. Some special alerts for them do pop up (usually one every other weekend after they do their devblog on twitch). Some high end events have small chance. However, honestly mostly you buy them for 20 plat.

Warframe slots and Orokin Reactors/Catalysts are what you generally spend plat on.

Edit: Early on I only put Orokin reactors Catalysts on weapons I planned on keeping or frames I liked. However, you do really want 1 frame/ 1 weapon with them as your main progression armor/weapon. Late game it gets pretty reasonable to farm prime parts to trade for Plat and go infinite if you want. I honestly buy plat every once in a while on sale more to support them then a need for it. Then spend it on cosmetics.

Wink, what platform do you play on?
