Warframe

I am looking into this game on PC. Do we have an active GWJ clan?

I fell out around November, but the PC clan was pretty active at the time. Escher can invite so post your details and I'm sure you'll get an invite.

I keep coming back to Warframe (on PC). I mostly play solo or with a couple friends so progress is relatively slow, and I'm currently sorta stuck on the Pluto -> Sedna junction. The Orokin test rooms on Lua are giving me trouble. I'd ask for advice but I suspect I just have to keep trying. I really want to get to the War Within quest though, so I'm motivated!

While I understand the impulse to avoid sh*t heads I generally found pugs to be pretty inoffensive. In nearly 300 hours I had two genuinely bad experiences. Most players generally just want to get through the mission and get out. I had a genuinely fun time doing the Lua challenge rooms with a couple of randos. If you go in and say you're there to do challenges a lot of people will gladly help you out.

Yeah, if you let me know your names I can invite. I overdid a bit October-December so i'm playing a bit less but still log on daily to build my forma and get my daily reward. Will be on more next week when the unvaulting happens.

If you let me know your details in game will gladly get you an invite.

As far as active, we have nearly all other than 1 thing of research done. Players are here and there and picks up when new content drops. However, as Devil said this is no joke probably the best community in an online game I've ever seen. I've had very few bad expierences and so many good ones with randoms. So many times I was doing something under geared and a over geared person took 3 times as long to make sure I got it done that I did not even know.

I originally started playing solo or with friends because the other players were dashing ahead so fast and killing everything so quickly that I felt like I couldn't compete or do anything. I wanted to learn the game myself, and then it kinda became a habit I guess.

I appreciate the offer for help but I got extremely lucky and opened three Lua test rooms in a row the other night. Two of them on the same map!

That's actually a big part of the fun once you learn the game...doing stuff at warp speed. It can be satisfying to complete a mission with perfect efficiency, and moving with accuracy through the terrain while on a super Volt buff is quite enjoyable.

I've been going through some of the changes for the warframes and saw they're also going around of nerf/buffs to weapons as well. There's over a 100! My favorite pistols (duo toxicity) is getting a sweet buff!

Full list here:

One of the biggest changes overall are mastery changes. There's a lot of low tier (0-5) weapons getting pushed up to 10+ due to their buffs. Key thing is if you get them before the changes hit you'll be able keep using the weapons. So take a look and if you were holding off you may want to change your mind and grab them now while you can.

FYI yesterday was the unvaulting. Sadly you can only get the relics through either A. Cetus Bounties or B. Syndicate relic packs

Loki Prime
Ember Prime
Frost Prime

Wyrm Prime

Also some weapons.

Any idea when the weapon changes will be released? Thought it was today?

Edit: Out now

Think I'm going to need to jump back in and try it out. After my enforced hiatus I completely lost momentum.

So i ended up getting this and I am enjoying the game. I have found a few questions that i have not found solid answers for.

My build is currently
Excalibur
Mk 1 paris bow
Mk 1 kuni
Skana
Taxon with basic kit. I am thinking I want to replace this with Shade whenever I can do that.

When should I replace these? When I level these up to max what do I do with them? What should I replace them with? I enjoy the stealth ninja approach but i am open to some loud options.

Trading:

I looked up the price of the lex prime barrel figuring it would be low but the prices were anywhere from 1-35 platinum. How do you determine a good selling/buying price and what is trade etiquette in this game?

New Frames:
As slots are limited how do you go about choosing your next frame? From looking at the numbers it looks like it is better to buy platinum in a prime pack than straight up then use that platinum to buy slots.

Thank you.

Trading, honestly https://warframe.market/ is what I use just pay the cheapest price.

New Frames: Honestly I just bought as many slots as I need. They are pretty cheap comparing to everything else and I like to support a free to play game I like and play any amount. Rhino is one of the earlier frames you can get and is really pretty friendly for newer players. A lot of the frames you have to wait until you get to them. It's been a while so I really don't remember the full order but Rhino was Venus or Mercury so pretty early on.

As far as getting plat. Really depends . Yes you are correct the prime pack is better straight up if you want to buy. However, if you wait you can get 20/50/75(75 is very rare)% off plat. Which brings price way lower on only straight plat. However, do note you can be waiting over a month to get a good one so takes time. Once you get to higher ranks it's easy to farm prime parts and sell for plat if you want.

I'd buy platinum any time I got a 50% or higher discount and built up a nice stock pile. With that I'd buy slots and orokin reactors any time I needed one. I hoard frames and won't sell any.

Weapons however are disposable, especially early on. You gain mastery rank by levelling frames and weapons, so it's in your interest to aquire and level everything. If you like bows that's cool, there are some fantastic ones , but they aren't always good for every mission type, and weapon feel is pretty good so you might take a liking to something else.

Sell off your starter weapons for credits once they're maxed out. Buy whatever is available for credits only in the store. Only keep weapons that you either really love, or are used to manufacture other weapons as per this list http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Weapo...

Once you level up anything to 30, you've gotten all the Mastery Rank you're going to get out of it, so you can usually move on to the next thing. Some weapons are worth keeping for crafting into other weapons, others you can safely sell (or you can hoard them all like me). 'Mk1' versions of weapons are strictly worse than their regular counterparts, so once you've mastered those you can replace them with the regular Paris and Kunai, if you like them. I like to carry around a max rank weapon into most missions, just in case.

As for what to replace them with, well, just yesterday they updated most of the weapons to have a required mastery rank and tweaked their damage numbers, so I'm not sure what to recommend as the "best" for your rank. I'd advise to browse the store for blueprints and pick out anything you're able to build.

Unfortunately I can't help with trading as I don't have much experience.

When buying Platinum yeah, I just buy it in big discount packs once in a while. I bought a thousand and as long as I was careful to only spend it on slots and sometimes a syndana or armor or something, it lasted me almost two years. If you spend the minimum amount on plat at full price then this game will quickly nickel and dime you to death.

Weapons are disposable, particularly anything that starts with MK1. As soon as you have it to 30, build another weapon and get it to 30. Every weapon and frame you get to 30 increases your mastery rank.

The typical chart of how WF works at times is

level weapon to 30
if you like it, keep it until you get something better, if not, get another weapon and sell it for the inventory space

And don't even bother with trading early on, save your 50 starter Plat or any plat you buy on getting Weapon Slots (12 Plat for a pair) or Warframe slots (20 Plat a piece), because if you become a collector of things, that will be your biggest expense.

And keep in mind, there will be a free V-day color pallet on V-Day, so do not forget to log in and get that, it's all reds and whites, but you will have a new appreciation of one of the end games of Warframe, Fashion Frame.

Got two 75% off plat in the last week. Now that doesn't happen often!

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I will buy the prime pack as that platinum should last me a while as I only intend to buy slots as I need them.

Stealthpizza, what's your IGN? I may have some spare Lex Prime parts I can give you. It's an awesome secondary.

My in game name is Vinlett I have the Lex prime barrel.

Thank you for the help.

The Lex Prime is an outstanding weapon, it should last you through the entire game.

I don't know of any way to get frame/weapon slots other than spending plat. So most of my plat goes there, with Right now, I'm leveling frames to 30 then selling them off when I can replace it with the prime version. Weapons I tend to hang onto in case I need them to build other weapons or ... okay, I have a problem with clutter in the weapons locker.

Be sure to check the in-game market, and the research labs in the clan dojo. There are a lot of weapons that you only need in-game credits and some pretty common resources, so check those out. If you are planning on playing this game long term, then you want to level everything for the Mastery Rank (MR) levels. It takes a while. I'm halfway through MR 20, think it's time to level those remaining sentinels.

5th year anniversary with free Dex Excalibur skin (frame and helmet). Rather pretty, much better looking than the default. Just log in to get it in your inbox.

And in addition, you have access to a mission for each of the previous Dex gifts - primary, secondary and melee, and a syandana. Run the missions for the weapons even if you already have them, it gets you a free weapon slot effectively, just sell the duplicate.

Of course if you don't have them already, you really want to run them. The Dex Sybaris primary is an excellent rifle that will be useful for a long time, I'm running a Shred + crit build and the 2 round burst does just that, shreds. The secondary is meh, mastery fodder, but since they come with a reactor in addition to the weapon slot, they are decent for lower MR players. The swords are mediocre at best.

WTF now I want part 2 lol

I love the Dex Sybaris, I used it as my main primary for a long time.

This makes me think I should have windows next to linux, just this game alone already..... So nice

Here you go!

Ok, reinstalled windows, really just for this game and functionality for my iPhone.
Next to Linux (grub giving me a hard time...grrrr)

So, back into this till July

Gara, trying to get that one. But geez, need some mining done. Quite a bit.
Just did a solo run out on the plains. With my prime Loki (normally I play with Ash for missions).
Loki is fast, and invisible for quite a while. Running over the plains, hitting enemies and gathering a bit
of a following

Still not enough mined, so going out for more stuff.
Kinda don't mind it and reminds me of Firefall

Personally, I loathe the addition of mining and fishing. What's next, space ninja herb growing? Space ninja lumbering? They already added space ninja flower gathering for potion brewing, but at least that was minimal and quickly done with.

I find the mining particularly annoying, playing 'hot or cold' takes it a level past WoW mining boredom.

I wouldn't mind it if it was optional, but they gated too much of the Plains of Eidolon content behind activities I find boring.

All i can say with drilling is you may want to get your rep up to the highest so you can get the third drill. The third drill will actually show mining deposits within 60m on the mini map.

As for fishing, well i believe you can trade for fish, and you can get 3 of the bait fish resources from the plague star event for the next 2-3 days.
