Pixar's Brave ( now with spoilers!)

June can't get here fast enough.

New featurete. Some new stuff and a bit more about the story.

Finally, some story information. This (still) looks fantastic!

Just looks better and better

I am so absurdly excited for this.

(Forgetting Cars2) Pixar makes the best damned movies. Can. Not. Wait.

Why is it not June yet?!

Glaring at the calendar doesn't seem to be helping.

I just wanna listen to Kelly Macdonald talk for a couple hours. If the rest of it's good it's gravy.

Hah, me too. The accent's wonderful. Dunno if it's a put-on or not, but I love listening to it.

Negative sir. Born in Glasgow, grew up in other parts, but Scotland native all the way. She should be in everything.

Ever.

*To be fair, it's been a long while since I've seen her interviewed and just talking naturally. It's very possible or even likely she's tweaking it or emphasizing it some for the movie. I just don't care

Whoever's singing that Celtic song, toward the end of that last clip, is pretty outstanding too. Love that stuff.

Yeah, her normal talking voice is the same west coat scots accent that my family have, If she's playing someone from the highlands she'd probably be laying it on a bit thicker.

Have you ever heard of Loreena McKennitt? She is fantastic and is pretty peaceful but it depresses me a little. Don't know why. Book of Secrets is probably her best album and Mummers' Dance the best track.

Oh yeah, I've got several of her albums. And a lot of her stuff isn't just a little depressing. The Highwayman, wow, that song is so sad I usually skip it. It's also on The Book of Secrets.

Here it is on Youtube. I won't inline it, because it's kind of off-topic:

Man, not only is she not on Amazon MP3, but there are no track previews, and the YouTube video is restricted so that it doesn't work on Android.

Heh, me too. Depends on my mood.

An infomercial for "Kilt"

Love Kelly Macdonald's Scottish accent. I think I first heard it when she appeared on Alias.

O.o - not in Trainspotting?

No, I saw Trainspotting later.

For Mother's Day

Bit dusty in here.

I am more excited for this movie than I am for Prometheus and The Dark Night Rises and I am not a Pixar fan. It looks gorgeous, for one, and it looks like a real cool fantasy story that has a female action hero. I thought I would have to wait till my daughter was old enough to see Buffy before she got a good female action hero with some depth. I hope this movie delivers.

Wake up for Hollywood.

1. Girls did genre films, as long as they have a good female characters to root for. Kate Beckingsale in latex fetish wear is not a good female action hero, unless the outfit actually meant something deeper, which it doesn't. She just looks hot.

2. Guys dig love and romance movies, as long as the dude in the film isn't some lame emo metro-sexual douche who, apparently, hates women, but is constantly kissing their asses. The women are always sexy, smart, and the sole focus of the relationship. Guy just comes of as lame or like some sitcom Dad with an Olympic level of stupidity and zero grace.

Anyway. I must have watched the Brave trailer a dozen times already. I hope this movie delivers, because it sure looks like they got the protagonist right. She seems awesome.

I still maintain that Legends of the Fall is a satisfying guy and girl flick.

A TV commercial. Still excited for the movie but this commercial didn't work for me.

Every guy should love Casablanca. I'm not sure if that's my top romance movie, but it's up there. Amélie is probably my favorite. Actually, A Very Long Engagement is good too. La belle et la bête (1946) is pretty good too just because beauty and the beast is such a classic story. Anyways, those are a few of my faves.

Casablanca is one of my top 3 favorite movies, period - the order varies, depending on mood, but it's Casablanca, Twelve Angry Men, and Seven Samurai for me.
