Copper - Even though it's set in NYC, it has such a BBC feel to it. Which is a good thing.

Also canceled.

Oof, I thought with it being a BBC show that it'd wrap up, but it did not.

Also, I posted my last message in the wrong thread. It was supposed to go into the Netflix thread; I don't even know if those items are on Amazon.

I kind of wondered. Kind of cool to find the one other guy that kind of liked Persons Unknown. I thought it was kind of cool, and that finale might have been cool, if it hadn't been canceled. But it was a real, "What the hell…"

I kind of thought the same thing and kept watching and then... not so much.

Well, it kinda did, but yeah. Disappointed in the lack of renew.

Veronica Mars is now free on Prime!

Needed a new mouse and cover for my Kindle Paperwhite, so I signed up for the free trial of Prime. Anyone know of a way to get video streaming to the Apple TV? Either from PC or a Macbook?

Apple TV doesn't support Amazon Streaming, but you can use AirPlay to get it on your TV via your Macbook.

Has anyone else started Alpha House?

Amazon is also putting out original content and this is a comedy starring John Goodman. It's funny but I'm not in love with it 2 episodes in.

The pilot wasn't particularly impressive from what I remember, but I did like the lead actors and wouldn't mind giving it another shot once I hear some good buzz about it. Sadly, that has not been the case.

I'm not trying to be snarky here, but has Amazon made a show anywhere near as good as the stuff Amazon has put out?

Presuming you mean has Amazon made anything anywhere near as good as Netflix?

No. They've only done 2 shows (beyond a pilot) at this point, so the odds aren't on their side. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Studios

They have a few test movies, but they're more like pitches than developed movies.

I was counting those pilots as shows which is a bit disingenuous.

Invader Zim. All 3 seasons.

Ride The Piggy.

Quoting for emphasis. Everyone needs to watch this! (And the movie's coming out in March!!!!)

New pilots up at Amazon.

I have always like the Connelly Bosch books and I thought Bosch was a good effort in bringing the character to the screen.

The After, ugh.

To borrow from the horrible meme to describe a horrible show.

So Bad. Wow. The Acting. Cheese.

Holy cow, new favorite show: Mozart in the Jungle

How the hell did this ever get created? I am flabergasted.

Wow, that's quite the heap of talent.

Edit: And flipping fantastic! Slings & Arrows meets the cinematography of Girls. I really hope it gets updated to series.

Nice -- glad I'm not crazy. Yeah, it feels exactly like an HBO show. It's essentially a high-brow soap. I dig it. Gael Garcia Bernal puts on a phenomenal performance in that pilot. Such a fascinating character that you can love and hate at the same time.

Couldn't agree more. I also really like the lead actress, she's unique for a female 20-something character on television in that her awkwardness doesn't feel awkward, it feels earnest. Again, like the more palatable scenes from Girls, she feels like a real person instead of a caricature. And the supporting cast is really top notch, Malcolm McDowell and Saffron Burrows in particular. The bar scene with Burrows was incredibly funny.

Easily the best pilot I've seen since Last Resort. Let's hope it fares better.

Added to my queue once I read the description. Looking forward to checking it by the end of the week month century.

Grounded: The Making of The Last of Us is up on Amazon Instant Video, free to anyone.

Guess I'll be able to watch that in a couple years when I finally play it.

FYI: Prime rates will be raised to $99 a year.

Gems cost $20

The e-mail I got says it's not starting until 2015. Giving me a full 12 months notice since mine just renewed.

I can swallow that pill, especially since Mozart in the Jungle recently got upgraded to series along with three other shows. I'm so excited!

Mozart was easily the best of the pilots. I'm happy Bosch got picked up even though the pilot had some problems.

It's another take on the season long murder procedural, but I liked, it wanted to like, the main character and its attempt at noir. It will need some better writing, but it could be easy to fix. We'll see.

That reminds me that I should recommend the book it is based on to my dad, who is into that genre.

I had originally grabbed my price hike pitchfork and was going to be upset. Then I realized that's still only $8.25 a month. Between video, shipping and kindle I still cover that every month.

Price hike takes effect in the middle of next month, so if your renewal is after that (say, June) then expect the higher price.
