weird is more like it...

I really like Outer Range, especially season 2. It just has a vibe that I dig.

I'm on S1E6.

I'd say it is staying in its lane. That lane being Cowboy Twin Peaks.

I haven't decided yet if it's going to become endearingly/forgivably weird (like Twin Peaks) or if it's going to be amateurishly weird (like Lost). I think it will depend on how much I perceive any self-importance coming in from the show runners. Right now it's not in-my-face.

The acting is good! And the music drops are nicely different/throwbacks.

I'm going to keep watching.

ETA: The below. But with more club cabs, dip, cowboy hats and Kris Kristofferson songs.

I've never played the Fallout games, but my wife and I just blew through the show, and we loved it.

Reminds me, I really need to finish Twin Peaks.

I have very little confidence that the creators of that show have the chops to take a character that is already very love-him-or-hate-him in the hands of the original author, lift him out of his original context, drop him in a new one, and make it work.

Having read the article, I think the idea of how they are intending to use him is solid. How that works in practice however...

The whole show, to me, feels like just a bunch of CGI thrown into some disconnected story. Do you like GoT? We've got politics! Did you like Jackson's LOTR? We've got special effects! Did you like The Witcher? We've got violent action!

Like, what was the artistic vision? What's the point of this?

The two showrunners have very few credits to their names, certainly nothing approaching this scope.

I think with the rights quagmire the show was in and the restrictions it had to be written under, anyone competent to do the job knew better than to try. So Amazon wound up with a couple work-for-hire journeymen as opposed to anyone capable of applying any kind of artistic vision.

The Boys Season 4 opens a bit slower than previous seasons but it looks like they’re laying the groundwork for this to be a big one.
Apparently the showrunners thought the political messaging of previous seasons was a bit too subtle as well because they’re just flat-out shouting it at this point.

This new season has snuck up on me, what with all the Shogun’s and Scavengers Reign’s flying about. It’s nice to have it in my back pocket ready for me to binge. I’m on my fourth or fifth watch through of season one of Columbo at the moment.

If they’re going to follow the over arching plot of the comic series then things are only going to get wilder from now on which, I admit, is hard to imagine.

Hell yeah!

I know it’s a throwback, but I don’t like his little gloves.

It’s also weird that it’s on Amazon and not Max.

Looks great otherwise.

I think it looks great but Conroy was so iconic it will take me a bit. And I feel like they tried to copy Conroy's style instead of doing their own.

Is it Jensen Ackles?

Nope, Hamish Linklater. Whoever that is.

He's Batman.

Got all excited about Dean as Bruce.

Sounds like there are rumors of Sam appearing in S5 of Boys.

The easy play is to have him be Bucky. But I like it better if he's actually a supernatural (heh) type character like Constantine or maybe Golden Age Sandman. Or Ghost Rider but with an Impala instead of a bike. Or even a Fox Mulder type who introduces aliens into the Boys world. Any of which brings about the end of the world.

Played the priest in the Mike Flanagan Netflix series Midnight Mass. That's where I know him from, at least.

Oh him! He was great in Midnight Mass.

He was also one of the main villains in Legion. He is a seriously compelling and interesting actor and he should have a bigger career.

Great to hear he has some chops, I'd never even heard of him, but the voice work in the trailer was top-notch.

Sam? Oh, I hope not. He's kind of a terrible actor...

Would you take him as Red Hood?

Still my favorite of the animated movies.

Hamish is awesome! I loved him in 42 and The Big Short
