Ascension: Card game for iPhone/iPad/paper

I'm at 177-159. Sigh, I feel like I'm better than that!

Ok, so I bought both expansions and I'm ready to learn them the hard way (thanks oilypenguin for being an enabler!).
Invites sent. OMG.

I'm at 62-50 and I feel the same way.

Fine, I shouldn't admit this, but I'm 1141-622. At about 12-15 minutes per game, Ascension has to be the best $5 or $10 or whatever I've ever spent value-wise. I started out approximately 20-80 though; just managed to work my way to a bit over .500 before SoS came out, and SoS and I have just clicked. I wish there was a way to see my record without CoG.

I've been doing almost nothing all summer but 10 minute Ascension games and Le Havre; still need to get that shed built, ugh. Diablo bored me and nothing else held my attention more than an hour or so. Thank goodness Guild Wars 2 is almost here to absorb all this additional free time I'm going to have with the NHL season almost sure to be delayed. NHL is about the only thing that gets in the way of my gaming time. Now if I could just find a way to eliminate that work thing.

I already knew you were a machine. I can send you a game challenge at any hour and expect a turn response within 20-30 minutes. You've been kicking my ass lately. I like to think that my close record is due to playing primarily people on GWJ and QT3. I find the few times I've launched a game against some rando I crush them and they don't know the basics (play drawing cards first unless you have a plan to put something on top of deck, don't hit play all every turn, etc).

Not so much anymore, just canceled the cell data plan so no more turns at work! I'll be back on my late night and days off schedule for Ascension. Boo, hiss. We'll see how long that lasts.

I'm 70-54, while we're sharing. I feel pretty good about my progress in SoS, which was quite a slow start learning all the new things. I'm ready for the SoS expansion on iOS, need to learn something new!

If I make to the finals in the tourney, I'll make sure to crush you, Outlandish. David v Goliath. For all the little guys.

I'd like to see my record against the computer; the vast majority of my games have been against the AI.

...I'm still pretty sure I don't have 1700+ games, though...

EDIT: I now feel much better about my tourney loss to you.

6-14
Ouch. Obviously I haven't play that many games, and only the base deck.

Il dottore: got your invite for SoS, which I didn't own. But, seeing as its $0.99 right now, I picked it up. We can learn it together!

Summoner Wars has mostly drawn me away from Ascension. I'm 11-11 with SW...it's just clicked a bit more for me.

How do you see your wins and losses? Is that just against an online opponent?

Yeah just online, go into the online part and click profile.

Thanks, I was hoping it kept score against AI.

51-80 for me

27 : 34 for me, that's not too bad (I guess).

Works to the ideal of "you win some, you lose some".

I'm wavering between good weeks and bad weeks, but I did have a strong suck spell for a while. My % is shameful compared to the rest above- but I guess it takes my losses for you all to get your wins :).

I'm at 177-283.

36-51 in 2 player games.
1-0 in 3 player games
4-13 in 4 player games.

Best $$$ I have spent so far on the iPhone.

I also only picked it up because of the price, and because oilypenguin sent me an invite. So I guess you can blame it all on him
So far I'm liking SoS much better than the base set (which I was basically done with, after 11-8 games online), so I'm glad I got it. If nothing else, the art on the cards doesn't look like the painter fell asleep halfway through.
Let's see who survives the crash course!

Currently at 139-122 / 1-4 / 0-1 (2P/3P/4P). Although that's after a very good streak the last couple of days. Generally, I'm keeping wins ahead of losses, but the ratio keeps trending towards 1:1.

Not sure if this was posted before, but there's a preview for Immortal Heroes (the SoS expansion) on the Gary Games website: http://ascensiongame.com/news-archiv...

In addition, they revealed a number of cards from IH on their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...

Excellent stuff -- thanks, Shoptroll! Been waiting to hear something about this.

Ooooh, withe the Soul Gem mechanic, I bet we'll see Reclamax return for the Mechana, which could make SoS Mechana a little more interesting (without diluting the deck with RoF).

New tournament announced: http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1...

All our welcome and encouraged to participate!

2 more days left to sign up for the tournament!

If you're playing anyway there's no reason not to- you're only committing to playing more of a great game when you have a chance throughout the week. Look www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/112054?p... for the deets!

So there isn't a android app for this?

I'm at 21 - 18 with 4 forfeits when I went on vacation and forgot I had games going.

Please add me and play games with me! Right now I'm only consistently playing with Tim Gemma. I have the expansions but not the promo cards.

My Game Center handle is mrwynd, account is mrwynd at gmail.

The guys that did Ascension have a kickstarter for their new digital card game. It looks pretty awesome, but only 6 days left and I never heard of it before so I figure a bunch of you guys haven't either. In the updates they are including a bunch of bonus cards in the reward tiers through Wednesday for PAX.

Looks interesting- thanks for pointing to it. I might kick in.

Leaping Gnome, that last game (where I won 72 to 70) was a lot of fun. It really, really felt like it could have gone either way and I enjoyed the level of attention I had to pay esp at the end there. Even if I had lost to a similar score would have been as enjoyable, I think, just really enjoyed the parry.
