Done.

This is why I took tomorrow off. They have a whole day to fix their server issues.

I don't plan to even try to log on until tomorrow, myself.

The fact that my copy doesn't show up until then is pure coincidence.

Just started and it is good so far. Is it me or does the music sound a lot like Torchlight?

Torchlight tried to copy Diablo's style of music so I guess they were successful.

Thanks much for the Steam invite So, uh... how exactly do you hook Diablo up to steam so that steam knows you're playing it?

No Diablo until after we ride!

In Steam, go to Games -> Add a Non-Steam Game to my Library, then browse for the D3 launcher. Mine is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Diablo III Launcher.exe"

Playing a monk, level 7 now... good stuff.

Can i also get one Mannish?

Was going to catch up on all the posts I missed since going to bed last night 2 hours before launch, then realized it's 3 pages worth. Hope it contained 0 server issues and infinite fun. Jumping in now. Squee!

Does this work even with me installing the game in a different directory? Oh, and with the advent of this release, I am wondering if our 3pm ride might be in jeopardy

I posted this several pages back, but it quickly got lost in the shuffle. So reporting for info...

Just got done adding Diablo III to my non steam games library. Would it be a good idea for everyone to do that so we can still use the Steam overlay and post announcements and such?

I'm using this as the path

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launch
Start In: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\"

The only thing I'm not sure of, is if the agent will still update with patches this way. If you do it without the -launch the agent window pops up first, but I think it confuses the Steam overlay and causes it not to work correctly. With -launch the overlay works perfect.

To be honest I was curious to see how much the WoW pet's going for, since I have no use for it. No one seems to be selling it, which makes me think it doesn't use a separate key.

I would expect it to be like the Starcraft II pet, which I thought came on its own sheet of paper.

Matt Uelman did the music for Diablo, Diablo II, Torchlight, and Torchlight II. I don't think it's so much as copying so much as "hey, do that thing you did before"

Yeah, just specify your path it doesn't matter where it is.

If you can't make today, no worries, just let me know when you know as I'll probably head out a bit earlier so I can have a post-ride beer and some Diablo.

Thanks Gumbie. Do you have to modify the launch target (i.e. add an argument to the executable)? I'm somewhat confused on your "-launch" info above.

Just had a big binge: got a monk to 11 playing with one of my mates, then we rerolled to start again with two others and I got a DH to 11 as well. Couple of thoughts so far:

1) Holy weasels this game is fun
2) Monk + Wizard was an awesome two person combo. Monk + DH would prob be good too.
3) DH is less flashy than other classes but feels a lot more tactical due to the mobility/snares etc.
4) Enemy difficulty doesn't go up all that much with extra players: we could have 2/4 people back in town and still be killing stuff ok
5) Different builds feel quite interesting for SP vs MP: for example with DH you can skip a lot of the snare abilities in favour of DPS ones if you have a tank of some sort keeping the monsters busy. Similarly monk can use roundhouse kick to keep monsters off teammates in MP but the channeled damage would prob be better in SP.
6) Seriously you guys: this game is great. All the polish you'd expect from a blizzard game
7) I am going to play way too much of this
8) I really need to go to bed

Ah, yeah. I just tested it and starting the Launcher doesn't work with the Steam overlay, so you'll have to launch the game and just manually run the launcher to get patches. Now I just need my box to get here so I can activate my key!
