Diablo III Catch-All

Been thinking about doing some rogueliking. Probably something lighter like Brogue rather than DCSS. Played some Shoot Many Robots last night. Don't enjoy Elder Scrolls games, so didn't buy Skyrim.

Hmm. I could try to hunt down my Too Human disc...

Playing King's Bounty Armored Princess and Age of Empires Online for me. And thankfully its sucking me in.

Botanicula and Xenoblade. Been thinking about firing up D1 since I never played that before. Or Torchlight/Darkspore.

Icewind Dale 1 for me. Gotta drop them fireballs.

Ohhh did you already own D1 if not where did you get a copy? I just can't find a copy of the game. At least not for a reasonable price.

I think I snagged a used copy off eBay last year for less than $20. Works fine in W7 but you need to use the DirectDraw hack to fix the color corruption issue that plagues every Blizzard release before D2.

I have 3 bins full of miscellaneous computer stuff and games from when we bought the house that I haven't had a chance to really go through. I'll take a look this weekend and if I come across my old D1 media, you're welcome to have it emyln.

I played through a few hours of this on GOG. I do not remember that being as difficult as it is. Wow.

I got Bastion on Steam for $5.99, so that has been my distraction.

Ohhh thanks FSeven, that would be awesome.

I really wish there was a way to get my key from Amazon so I could pre-load the game ahead of time :

I'm with you there. Instead, I shall wait eagerly by my door on that fateful day and hope that "release day shipping" gets me the game early in am. I might even install it by disc!

I'm trying to finish up Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and not fall too far down the chasm that is Fallout New Vegas while I wait. The meta-game of patching, modding and recovering from crashes should keep me busy on its own, really.

Titan Quest:Immortal Throne with the Underlord mod. Also Trials Evolution.

I just recently reinstalled TQ:IT. Underlord mod looks amazing, I am going to have to give it a try.

Mario Galaxy 2 has taken up my free afternoon so far.

I thought I was done with Reckoning, but then I realized there are probably two square meters of land in Reckoning that I haven't discovered yet, so I'm still playing Reckoning.

I think I'll give Warlock - Master of the Arcane a whirl, since Conference Call alerted me to its existence. After that, time to see what all the hullaballoo around Bastion is about.

I ponied up ten bucks to support Path of Exile and get access to the beta. Very playable and as good as most any Diablo clone. Plus the skill tree alone is worth the price of admission for me.

I've been playing Path of Exile too. In many ways I think it bested Diablo 3's beta content. I doubt it will have the legs of D3. Graphically though, I think its MUCH better.

I think I've got Diablo (1) demos on some old Computer Gaming World CDs, if anyone is interested in that. Not as good as the whole game, but pretty fun, nonetheless as I recall.

Are you kidding me? That's why I stopped playing. The damned thing looks like a map of the Internet -- ON IPV6.

I am playing the Path of Exile beta, TERA, and trying to finish Starcraft 2.

I donated money to PoE to get beta access. There's more stuff to see and more time to sink before you run out compared to the D3 beta, but that's about it. Despite the fact that you can level up to high levels in PoE, I feel like the D3 beta had at least as much variety in terms of ways to make an effective character. (Yes, the game with "no diversity" according to many angry Internet men, has about as many real interesting options in the first thirteen levels as PoE has in sixty-plus. :l)

I don't regret having donated or having spent time on it, but at this point I'm pretty much done for now. After a while, the amount of time and resources that's needed to build a new character to try something different is too much. (Resources: scrubbing any rare skill gems you might have that you want to use on the new character, for instance, to get them to the starting level so he can use them as soon as possible.) And, on the other side, the degree to which the "different" thing actually feels different is too little. *shrug* As they add more acts to the gameplay (a third act will be in for open beta) and tweak/add new skills, I may go back to try new stuff out.

Anyway: Do try it, if you have some time and can afford to donate a little or luck into a beta key. But don't expect it to cure cancer.

I'm in the final Act of D2 Hell difficulty with my Kicker assassin. Determined to wrap that up first. I'm also sitting at 21 cubes in Fez.

If I finish both, then I'll probably try the Walking Dead, or Tribes.

.... but really, these are all tawdry distractions in the face of my coming dark god.

(I might have to quit work. :-))

Mace Barbarian, Kicker Assassin and Zookeeper Necro. My three staples, always ended up playing that trio.

How does your Kicker fare in hell difficulty? Dragon Tail can be buffed to deal RIDICULOUS fire damage (>1.5 million) but it doesn't work against fire immunes (which are everywhere) and it doesn't trigger against physical immunes.

You know anticipation for a game is great when a week and half before release there is nothing on the last page of this thread but posts about what people are playing while waiting for D3 to come out.

Anyone having trouble downloading path of exile? I am getting dial up speeds on my 12 megabit cable modem.

NM it was my antivirus... =(

What will be the digital purchasing options for this?

You can buy it right now via battle.net and download the install files immediately. The installation package becomes active on release day.

No other sources?

The closer we get to release the more I feel the urge to buy the game digitally and then hold on to my collector's edition for a few months before hocking it on eBay.
