Diablo III Catch-All 2.0

I am vehemently against trading though. I think it ruins games by turning the "right" way to play into Trading Tycoon

I haven't followed the D4 info closely but in the reveal I heard someone say the phrase "some items can be traded but only once", and I think that sounds potentially game-definingly great. It keeps the idea of a player economy and fixes the whole "hooray I found an epically rare item that's useless for my character" problem (which made D2 single player largely pointless). And it fixes the problem you're talking about even better than WoW-style soulbinding, which is meant to limit trading but still encourages tycoon style play.

I'd be totally down for some limited trading like that, with a decent testing infrastructure (i.e. unlike PoE).

Lot of people talk about grinding like it's a bad thing. A big part of the problem for D3 was that you didn't have much to grind forward to, get your set reasonably quick and then... I like grinding, as long as the process itself is fun and there are multiple aspects so it's not just grinding for the item but few other things you can alternate and aim at achieving. I quite like that they are introducing some form of trading.

I hope trading isn't the main way you get gear. I like to find things while playing, not buy them off a third-party website listing.

Personally I really like the loot model that Diablo 3 landed on, except for the 6-piece sets. I like combing through the legendary gear I have and figuring out the best way to put it together with all the character skills. There's a reason I say Hearthstone is Blizzard's second-best collectible card game. If Diablo IV's character building system is too restrictive and is all about picking a build ahead of time and working towards it then I will be sad.

I haven't touched Hardcore in years.
So I fired up a new HC seasonal wizard
This season seems pretty good for hc with the random boost zones. Too bad they don't have an armor one. (I think it is just damage, resource cost red% and cooldown red%)

Someone should make that D4 thread, eh?

I started a new witch doctor to play through the campaign.
It is interesting playing the campaign with level scaling. With a decent leoric's and hellfire ring, I hit 70 just before the Belial fight playing on torment 2 from level 1.
It wasn't very hard with my stash available and 600 paragon points. (I can't believe after all this time I only have 600 paragon points!) But then I have never gotten over GR 70, have never found a primal, and probably only have found maybe 2 dozen ancient items. Oh and there are plenty of sets where I haven't found more than 4 pieces for. I think the only sets I've completed (not counting season rewards), some 3-4 times, are: zuni, tal, vyr, dmo, firebird, marauder, shadow, natalya, ue, pestilence, rathma, inarius, trag, helltooth, jade, arachyr, inna's, 1000 storms, uliana, and raekhor's.

But anyways, one bummer is that you don't have access to the cube until you unlock it in act 3. So you are a bit weaker but I still managed to hit 70 in 3 hours and change. This includes watching all the cutscenes because that actually was the point of this campaign playthrough. You can watch the cutsenes online but they are missing key in game cutscenes and dialogue. I am going to do a video soon but the key component of it is that Diablo 3's biggest failing wasn't lack of "dark" but too much showing, telling and not doing or experiencing.
SPOILER: I'm right

So when does the new season actually start?

More than likely the 22nd. They're announcing it later today/tomorrow.

Well... I guess I have enough time to sort my inventory out again, then...

If they don't nerf crusader, then that's what I'll be going with for Season 19. Tempted to start with Barb as free spin to win set will make early gearing nice.

Monk tempest rush looks nice too!

Yep, glad they fixed the new set. Good to have lots of different and viable options.

I have played every single class at some point or another and find myself continually going back to the Demon Hunter as my favorite. I just enjoy the movement and shear destruction of the multishot build.

Are there any generator builds that work well in the end game?

Diablo 3 did two things right with its story. The character progression and gameplay really sold me on the notion that the PC could credibly threaten and trash-talk the lords of heaven and hell. The other is the bits where various NPCs would join you and you’d hear conversations and stuff while you were having fun playing the game.

All that was undercut by the longer-than-they-should-be audio lore dumps with each new enemy, and the cut scenes that should have featured the PC but didn’t.

Monk Raiment set had a fun build that maximized damage after you fill your spirit gauge and it started depleting at an accelerated rate, so you would stack attack speed and use your generators as your main attack. Hasn't really been viable for pushing grifts, but it could get you into the 100s.

*edit* Inna's also has a generator build, but the set I was thinking of was Raiment.

BINGO!
Its Tyreal's story or Leah's story. Why didn't you get to become the angel of wisdom at the end? Why didn't you make any sacrifice to capture or destroy the black soulstone at the end?
In fact, Tyreal spends an awful lot of time sitting in camp for a hero and then with his restored sword for 3 acts.
Deckard Cain dies and the player cares but the player's character doesn't even know him. Tyreal and Leah care though.

Damnit, now I am giving away all of my upcoming vlog ;P

That's because Demon Hunter is the best class and always will be. DH has always been my main. Other classes come and go, but at the end of the day, there she is with her beautiful Primal Karlei's Point and Primal Yangs Recurve, there's nothing that stops us.

Except for a GR120 Cold Snap. That dude sucks.

Season confirmed for 22nd as expected and a nerf for Crusader is coming too. Hmmm...

Season starts today!

I have been dabbling the past few days with a crusader since I didn't know the new sets were live.
This old game still teaches me something new every time I revisit it. While trying to get the new sader set I stumbled upon the flail that causes fist of the heavens to cast twice and do 1000% more damage. I will be damned if that is not incredibly fun to play just from the one legendary alone! Apparently there is a belt that reduces wrath costs by 40% and further increases fist of heaven damage

Good luck everyone, may your GR70 primal be a good one!

t minus 72 minutes for US.

its on! Pox Faulds is an awesome early boost for melee characters.
My newb crusader is 27

Didn't get as much time to play over the weekend due to other life stuff, but still managed to get to Paragon 787 and cleared a GR103 within the first 24 hours. Not a bad start. Have one useful primal as well so it should be a pretty good season!

Jesus!
Im at GR 20 and paragon 79

Um... did I mention I like Diablo?

Was too busy killing horde in WoW classic, but D4 news made me jump into the season as well. Only grift 70 down. The primal was useless of course. Pretty sure I have never seen a good one.
Trying to get to the perfectly balanced new crusader set.

Trying to get to the perfectly balanced new crusader set.

I got one piece of it last night! Unfortunately the Crusader for me is a terrible farming class. I even have the thingie that makes blessed shield cost no wrath and do more damage. I have over 600k damage and ~25mil toughness yet it takes too long to do T4 or GR 20 (finished with 53 seconds left)

So I got my wiz to 70. Used 2 haedrigs to get meteor drops and I'm up to 500k damage but on 6mil toughness. I need to loot a RoRG (have 2 of 3 crimson's) and/or an etch sigil (been getting unluck with blood shards and the cube) OMG if my wiz had my crusader's stats, she'd be flying through T6 and GR30+
