Diablo III Catch-All 2.0

Yay me, I finally finished Inferno. I "invested" a bit of gold on a new weapon and helm that work great for my WD's playstyle, and can breeze through Act 1 and 2 on MP3 and Act 3 and 4 on MP2. Now I'm working on getting my parts for Infernal Machine. Have Act 1 and 2 parts, need act 3 and the plans.

Also, had a fun run with BrainHz earlier and we tried the Infernal Machine twice on MP1. 1st was a bit of a pain as we drew Ghom and Rakanoth, but we managed to down them. 2nd time was a bit easier as we got Leoric and Maghda. Unfotunately neither dropped a part for the ring, but at least we were able to give it a go and down 2 rounds of the Machine.

It's called random for a reason.

I just had a legendary mighty belt drop with intelligence on it. The f*ck?

Increased resistances?

With 150 hours under my Witch Doctor's belt, I only had 1 legendary drop. After a few hours last night, raise that total to 4! That's right, three legendary drops in 2.5 hours. Random really is random.

I've been trying to avoid the AH as much as possible, but finally broke down and purchased a legendary mojo for 100,000 gold that increases my pick-up radius by 20 yards. OMG! Where have you been all my life, mojo! Combined with the passive that gives you bonus intelligence for health globes, my overall dps (and thus killing speed) has skyrocketed. I'm making gold at a rate I didn't even know was possible.

Thanks Hollowheel. I just hit 60 on my Witch Doctor (my first 60) and I was wondering what to splurge my money on. The 20 yard gold hoovering is wonderful!

If you just hit 60, I would start with a weapon. I grabbed a legendary ceremonial knife Last Breath, for under 500k that suits my playstyle perfectly. It was a little cheaper than most of the other ones, but that's because not many other WDs use toads and I do so I grabbed one with +13% toad damage and a decent chunk of vitality.

If you just want a "starter" wep for 60 I have an 870 dps ceremonial knife lying around that you are more than welcome to have along with some other INT/Vital/Resist gear. Just look me up and i'll be happy to send it your way.

Calbear95, thanks for the offer. I also bought a cheap high dps weapon, but I did send you a friend request. I don't play much, since it's usually after the kids are in bed and I'm not playing something else. It took me 2 months to get this far! As I have been leveling, I've been playing multiplayer with pubbies. Since once upon a time I tanked public groups back on Wrath of the Lich King, I have been finding Diablo much easier in that regard.

I have a ton of 60 gear, mostly yellow that's distributed through most classes. I am on quite a bit with my 60 (7) monk. Be happy to keep an eye out or give you what I have. SpyNavy#1599

Sorry I had to ditch Mex and Brainz all of a sudden. Had to take care of some things before the wife headed to work.

Whoever said the game is too slow paced plays it too much on solo. With a couple of people running around there's so much going on that it's hard to tell what's what. After a while all I can see is the health bars and watch them slide from right to left.

Crap, let me see if I still have my 950dps ceremonial knife. I couldn't sell it for the longest time and I'll be glad to gift it to a friend in need.

Is anybody planning on doing the last half of act 3 and act 4 some time this week? I've got to finish with my demon hunter but playing that class solo is crazy boring.

edit: Apparently, I was already at Azmodan so I just need to do act 4.

Word, that was fun, we can go even faster if we drop a monster power level : D
We could really use a tank next time, where's ukick?

Hit me up anytime you want to do a speed run or something, I still need those infernal machine plans from somewhere on act 4

Thanks Carlbear95 for the WD loot!

Got my DH up to 60K base damage with some cheapo upgrades from the AH. He's squishier than my monk, but more fun to play. I drop turrets and caltrops everywhere and just watch mobs melt away.

If you need a tank I have a decently geared barb 60 (9) that I have been itching to play again. I would love to try some of the monster level stuff.

My battletag is IntangibleF8#1812

I'm really falling behind the curve with D3. I think my highest char is 57 in A3 Hell.

I've not played Diablo but I read this and wondered how truthful it was: http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/11/05/editorial-diablo-3-auction-house-do-not-post/

I usually find good stuff for my other characters. Running Monk has netted me some great stuff for my DH and Wizard. I just need to remember not to sell it.

And it is a grind, but some of the changes in drops have made finding the better items easier. I played a bit tonight and my old school DH (before they nerfed attack speed, ect) can cut through Act 3 Inferno (NO ML) with only a slight frustration, but I hit Cydia(sp) and couldn't kill her since the spider things she spawns hit for 14k and I only have 12900 life. I had a five stack and faced a pretty decent cross section of mobs, but I didn't have enough life to kill the boss. It's hard to dodge every hit. I could do it eventually, but how much gold will I waste trying? I had a five stack and faced a pretty decent cross section of mobs, but I didn't have enough life to kill the boss. I could go to the auction house, but I don't even know what's good anymore. I quit playing D3 because grinding for gold started to feel like a job. I got my money's worth and I go back once in a while. I feel like it's not a very compelling experience.

Ok so for me (just so you know where I'm coming from) : I'm on Paragon level 33 or so, I've finally hit 400%+ Magic find and I'm now finding 2-3 legendaries every couple of hours of speed-farming... (stopped picking up most rares, etc). So I got like 300+ hours in Diablo 3 so far.

You could say I really like this game.

I've found exactly 2 items that I could consider an upgrade (a ring and a weapon which I'm debating whether to keep). This was after the latest patch which buffed drops like 4x, before that - nothing, maybe one item that could be an upgrade that I didn't buy on the AH. It's gotten better in the past month.

However, this article just highlights how broken and bad the game was at release, and it deserves all that criticism - there's a lot of wrong with this game and I can't fault anyone for throwing it in the thrash after realizing how bad the itemization is. It's gotten better, but not much.

On the other hand, there's something really relaxing for me when I play it, the gameplay or game mechanics or whatever it's called, I love playing some tv show or radio on the background and just zoning out for a half hour, it's just a very good action RPG. The movement feels good, the instant feedback from using your skills, the enemies exploding, it's all so satisfying.

The AH is a crutch, for sure, the whole social thing is kind of useless, the servers going down always at the wrong time (lost like 50 million or more on an auction twice now, thanks to their servers crashing), etc. It just feels like a money-grab from all angles.

But damn them, the core game is just fun :s

I think I have got two upgrades from drops doing inferno. I got burned out pre 1.04 doing butcher runs, then got burned out getting nothing good from 2 and 3. Then I got 2 legendaries in my first act 3 run and flipped them for an upgrade and a fun two hander.

I think it helps that everything is at least i-level 60 now. It was really frustrating doing butcher runs and getting like 4 level 55 rares, even though you had to be 60 to do it.

I find usable items all the time. Just looking at my gear now and almost everything is self found except my barb helm, a demon hunter ring and three amulets. It helps if you play more than one character and you don't go buy incredible gear in the first place.

You know magic find caps at 300%, right?

You can go up to like 600%+ now. Keep up, pants!

Ah ha, you answered the question I was about to ask... I know the cap is more than 300%, but I don't know what actually lets it get past... so NV and MP lets you break through the 300% barrier...

For some reason i thought NV also counted towards the cap, but sound like that's not the case.

Yeah, Blizzard is kind of bad at explaining the whole Magic Find thing, kind of confusing :/

Even the Monster Power patch notes don't explain it that well, but here's a post from a Blizzard rep that clarifies it:

The Magic Find and Gold Find percentages for both follower contributions and Fortune Shrine bonuses are intended to respect the 300% MF/GF cap. Nephalem Valor bonuses will continue to stack beyond this cap, however.

So you can get 300% from your gear+Paragon Levels+follower, that's the "Official" cap.

Then on top of that you can get temporary buffs to Magic Find from NV stacks, and then add some Monster Power on top for 600%+ Magic Find.

Fortune shrines apparently don't count beyond the 300% cap for some silly reason...

Usually when I see somebody list their magic find I assume it's just gear and paragon since NV stacks and monster power stack on top of that. But, yeah, 5 stacks at MP10 gives you and additional 325%.

I'm definitely finding upgrades now, but I've been very careful about my auction house use. I'd say I find lateral to small upgrades for my main every 3-4 hours. For reference, I'm paragon level 10 and running with very little magic find gear in MP1.

Now if only they'd make crafting worthwhile. I'd love something other than the auction house to spend my gold on.

Loot is going to need a lot of work to get anywhere near the perfection of D2, but Diablo 3 has impeccably fun action rpg gameplay.

So I finally got my DH to level 60 for my fifth character. And since she was last, I just poured all my used or DH specific gear to her. I would use gear from Act 2 Inferno as soon as she got to 60 in Act 3 Hell. I'd imagine it's the same effect as using the AH. Man, that makes the game so much easier. No wonder people complained the game was too easy. It almost took the fun out of it. Almost... since it was a struggle for some of my other classes trying to find weapons to drop pre 1.0.5.

Also, the more I use 2 handed and slow weapons, the more I like them over sword and board and dual wielding. Esp since for some skills it makes them much much stronger.

Before I go the AH route is anyone interested in swapping wizard gear or gold for this dh stuff ? Fire me a pm if so.

Well don't miss any bloated corpses on the ground.. Act 2 MP3, without even full stack of NV I found Set WD helmet out of a bloated corpse... crazy stuff.
