Just picked this up during the sale. I love how steam handles mods now. I was just thinking I would love a few changes and I go into workshop. Top rate mod are the synergies mod you mention and a compilation mod. The latter looked more to my taste and should be perfect for me. Now if I can find a mod to have more free time.

Been playing this game as my primary time sink lately. I'm on my first time through. Have Synergies installed and playing on Veteran. I'm currently mostly cleared out of the 1st open area in act II and level 26 or 27 as an engineer with 4 bots (healing, sledge, gun, slow) + summon skeleton. So I can bring up a good host of helpers for big encounters.
Anyways, if anyone wants to co-op let me know. I might only be able to do an hour a night most nights, around 9:30/10 Eastern, though.
Finally fired this up, and used the Synergies 2 mod, as Necromancer was quite appealing to me. I transferred over another save with a Berserker at about 2 hours in... immediately upon loading I was attacked by a huge group of mobs with 3 Hero class baddies!!! I'm assuming this was some sort of glitch?

Looking to revitalize this thread. I just recently put some time into this gem and began pointing a finger of shame at myself for not playing this sooner. It is incredibly fun and easy to play in short burst or for long periods. I also got my daughter (12) set up on a second PC and we are playing co-op (Lan). It's her first ARPG and she loves it and more importantly, it is our first PC co-op experience. I encourage anyone who hasn't purchased it yet to do so.
That's awesome to hear, Blackanchor! This game seems really well suited to a coop experience, particularly set up in a LAN. Are you in the Torchlight GWJ Steam group? Not super active IIRC, but you might be able to find a few players by throwing up an announcement. I guess I'd like to plunge back in but I'm guessing time zones might be a problem for me as they always are.

What's the GMT offset for Dantooine anyway?
I don't feel disadvantaged with the stick I've got.
GMT+4. Until you guys switch to DST, I'm 8 hours ahead of Eastern (9 when you'll switch). Just getting up right now. ^_^
I actually started playing this again a few nights back (as it's one of the few games that runs on our laptop pretty well without the laptop sounding like it wants to kill itself)... and it has been fun so far. I like the new pets they've added (heck yes I want to play an Engineer with a Panda, why not?). Keep thinking about installing some mods, but haven't found anything TOO useful yet except the modifications to inventory displays (Unidentifed are yellow squares, unusable are red rather than the little in the corner) and an expansion of the shared stash to accomodate my alt hording tendencies. Really wish I could find more customization in HUD elements, as I'd really prefer to make it look a little more like my WOW setup was with my life and such. Really hate that it's those two friggin' globes like D3 with no indication of life, mana except visual percentages that really don't tell me that much.

Yes, I am in the steam group. I just posted a new message inviting anyone to join me in vanquishing evil.
I've started a weekly game with some old friends in London. It's the first time I've played co-op games regularly in years. Fun fun fun.
Reading Maq's post as anything but dry humour probably means you just need another cup of coffee.
There's a panda? What else have they been adding to the game, then? I'm still playing, but with my launch-night Engineer.
Did you ask what else is there after a panda? What more do you need?
Did you ask what else is there after a panda? What more do you need? :D
Why Headcrabs of course.
I'm such an idiot. I bought Torchlight 2 in the sale, clicked through to "Install Game" and it failed with:
Dammit, there's no Mac version!
My singleplayer engineer has a ferret (very useful engineering pets, ferrets) called Archimedes.
My multiplayer outlander has a owl called Mr Wise (NSFW language)
My Embermage has a black panther called.. Sushi (like our little black cat). Only ever played singleplayer, because, well, timezones.
No Mac version? That's a crime!
I am ridiculously attached to my panther, "Professor". His favorite trick is turning into a Mimic.
I jumped back in to this game with the Synergies mod and it's still super fun! I'm Squee9 on steam with a lvl 10 berzerker and an endgame Engineer if anyone is looking for a co-op partner.

Is it me or does the synergies mod make it hardier? I went back to vanilla because Normal was to easy and veteran was too hard. Vanilla veteran is just right. I'l jump back in when I want to try the new classes.

Got this during the summer sale, but didn't have time to load it up until now (I have games from the 2012 summer sale that I haven't played yet).
Was glad to be able to play it using one copy for my wife and I via LAN. Tried it for an hour.... and we paused for lunch. Then came back twice more for over and hour each time. Good fun!
Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer are leaving Runic. That leaves Max Schaefer still at Runic and presumably working on something Torchlight.
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?
You did live before digital distribution of old, cheap games. Now you just play games.
After having played Diablo 3 on PS3 last year and having a blast playing such a PC-centric game with a controller and the recent rerelease on ps4 & xbox1, I figured I might let you guys know that you can play the equally awesome Torchlight 2 using a controller as well: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtop... (not sure it works as smooth though)
Would anyone be interested in teaming up witn me some days on weekdays to play this?
I really wanna finsh it!
The Lone Dark Wolf
Sure I could use an excuse to reinstall it.
Just add me on steam, and send a message.

I could jump back in. I think I have a high level engineer somewhere in there. Friend me up.

Hey, I realize either D3 or Path of Exile is the hotness and TL2 is kinda old by now, but anyone would like to coop through the campaign together, with just coop-only characters (I won't get ahead, I'll play when both players are online)
I'm EST time, looking to rock an engineer, and have only one mod installed - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
I think that would be fun. What times are you looking at. I am est as well but have my son every other weekend, Thursday's and sometimes Mondays. I could do evenings though if we plan in advance.
Yeah I was just gifted this game (thanks PRG013!) and would love to do some co-op.
Fun stuff guys. It's a bit difficult to figure out who is what, with 3 guys and 3 animals and where the enemies are and all that, but it was good fun. My guy went from I think level 7 to level 14 in what was it, an hour? Anytime ya want another game just yell!
It was fun. I stopped trying to distinguish after awhile and just became a magic missile cannon until you melee guy moved on. I did have a problem with my guy running into the fray when I didn't want him to. Going to have to use the shift key more.
Next time we should vent. Might be easier to stop and loot or skill point manage as we go
